I bought a 1998 12 Valve quad cab automatic Fully loaded with every option available in 1987. When I got it it had 15 Kilometres on it. Now it has 550,000 Kilometres on it. I just rebuilt the whole truck. With all the new extras improve it it’s crazy. I got a different Radiator support from a 2003 I cut it put in a 2003 radiator and Intercooler. 2003 transmission cooler, 2003 Air conditioner. I installed a 2003 electric fan. A friend of mine hook it up With some electronics he made so it starts to engage around the same factory settings. Eventually I’m gonna put a 2009 6.7 With 68 RFE transmission. I’m just going to install all the electronics.
Ugh. I’m jealous. I’m shopping for a 2006/7 5.9 and they’re hard to find and really expensive. It has to be a G56 and a manual shifter for the 4x4. Decent ones are $30k + right now. I was contemplating a 2010-13 (before they put that electronic disconnect nonsense on the front axle), but I don’t know if I want to deal with the deletes.
Man just keep looking they’re out there! That was my dream truck I looked for about 6 years and I finally found one in a little tiny town of a few hundred people by mesquite Nevada. It was a super sketchy Facebook marketplace add with little no no information but the miles and that it was a manual. Seemed to good to be true so I ignored it but luckily the next day I messaged because why not and it turned out to be an elderly couple that wasn’t good with Facebook and low and behold it was real. It’s an 06 5.9 3500 srw crew cab long bed G56 big horn edition and it had 65k miles on it when I bought it in 2020. I won’t say the price because I don’t want to upset anyone but they didn’t know what they had and I get compliments and offers to buy it it seems weekly. Keep faith they are out there!
@@WyoNative I saw a beautiful 2007 with a 5.9 with 50 something thousand miles last week. Listed at 40k and lasted less than a week. It was a TX truck, so like your Nevada find it didn’t have any rust issues like you’d have from up north. The search continues…
I would not take a depreciating asset instead of cash. If it's worth so much then tell the guy to sell it and put the cash towards your truck. Looking forward to new channel.
In my own personal opinion i would say do your research give a call to local dealer and if they give you a good number i would say its worth the trade because you got a smoking deal on the cow boy 24v

The third gens are just attractive trucks! The design of the trucks was right on the spot! They look like they define the words "Ready for work!" First gens looked like sticks then second gens looked like sticks with some muscle but the third gens got it just right! Beautiful trucks! I would drool 🤤 over that 3500 he has! I would polish it and drive it like a show piece! 🤣 It would be the big truck hauling a trailer doing 50 mph on the freeway. Man I want a 3rd gen 3500 that looks like that!

It had been in a garage and was only driven in Memphis Texas. The lady had bought it new there and it had never left that town. It was literally in new condition like 991/2%. She was in too bad shape to drive anymore and I bought it for $1200. I lost it in a garage fire 2015 with my 1965 Chevy 1/2 ton that I reconditioned afterworking out of it for like 12 years. Dam it. Got insurance money but I wanted that car

I've got a 2006 that is just immaculate, but otherwise the same style and features (updated one year, so there's GPS and satellite radio and no manual transmission) and I was happy to find that with only 180,000 on the odometer and good maintenance logs. I figure it cost me about 1/6 of a 2023 with the same options in the current gen. would and it's still like new inside and out. You know what you like better than I do, but I'd jump on that one with both feet if you can...
Lowest miles I've ever seen for sure. Mine is an 07 Big Horn, same color same drive train, 55k. About did a double take there. I have the window sticker for mine.
Funny you posted this, I just scored a garaged low miles 2017 ram 3500 Laramie crew cab 4x4 dually. I wasn’t looking for another truck but don’t want to pay $80k for a new one in the next few years.
I have a truck just like that one and mines has the other 6 speed manual it’s a 05 Dodge 4 door long bed dullay 4x4 and mines bright white never been wrecked and has been Ziebart drilled and sprayed and under coated 145 k on it still all factory the brakes have never been changed ball joint have never been changed and I did up grade with the 08 type tie rod and drag linke with the new pitman are that comes in factory kit. I have been offered 30 k for it by a body shop and guy in his 60’s that had a fifth wheel that he wanted. My truck has been kept in my garage and don’t drive in rain unless I get caught in it and has been drove in fresh snow with no salt yet. I love this truck it’s my dream truck. I hauled cars for GM since I was 23 and this my second diesel my first was a 92 3/4 ton 4x4 Dana axels with locking hubs and it was Ziebarted to and sold it for 8500 and paid 19300 for it with single cab and with leaf springs all for corners it would beat you to death so I kept 500 lbs of sand bags between fender wells it had 185 k when sold and the bought my 05 and It rides like a limo and drives like a road race car. I only run 40 psi in my Dulles so it rides and handles great and the sticker on the door tells you 40 psi empty and under a load 65 psi .
That low of miles scares me some. Wife’s gmas 01 or 02 ST Cummins auto reg cab 65-70k miles. Leaks from not being driven. Brother in law bought my grandpas 04 Hemi with 40k. Tons of issues from sitting

Unfortunately that guy isn't ever selling that truck he most likely put it away somewhere out of site, that's all he has left of the relationship he was in and he'll die owning that truck! When I die my Nephew or his son will get a nice truck. Some times life is crazy hard 🤷♂️ I bought it for my ex. I wanted a back long box. But her Favourite colour was blue. So I bought a short box patriotic blue 🤦♂️ I miss her but am also happy she gone.

You can't buy them all. A 16-17 year old truck after sitting all that time is going to need bushings, and maybe cab mounts since they like to dry out. It's a nice truck for a collector piece, but as a daily driver, you'd be racking up mileage on a low mile truck, negating the reason for purchase. Besides what I posted, you're coming up on Commiefornia forcing the 5500 replacement or creative licensing to a new home state. (Grandma's place??)
Lord I thought I done good to find a 14 ram 3500 with 150 but that takes the cake. I have been running mine now for a month and working the bugs out. That the down side to one that has sit. Mine was parked in 15 after a year of Hotshot. Probably a wise decision to pass on that one. Sitting is harder on one then racking up miles
I'd be hesitant. Even with that low of miles. Sitting that long without being prepared for storage there is no end of bad possibilities. Every gasket, seal, and hose is probably gonna explode the first time they are pressurized or soon thereafter. Not to mention what the small oil, fuel, and every other fluid passage is probably clogged with by now.
I know you probably won't believe me when I tell you this but I own a black dodge dually 6 speed manual transmission standard cab 4 wheel drive Cummins 2004 5.9 with only 9000 miles on it. The truck is never been rained on and garaged it's hole life. It has a 4 inch lift with Toyo M/T 35X12.50R22 with MM aluminum chrome spoke rims and a Banks 6 Gun package with 5 inch exhaust . I ordered the truck brand new in 2004 it gets drove once a year and that is to get it inspected. Yes only 9000 miles on truck.
You’re going to regret not buying it, if you don’t. Inflation will have it worth a lot more next year.
