I'd like you to experiment with a medium and tell us what you think. It's called clear gesso. You can put it anywhere, still be able to see what's underneath, BUT it gives you more surface for your art so that it doesn't bleed through. It's commonly used for coloring books. I haven't been able to get my hands on it yet, but have had plans to for some time for my coloring. But it might be a good solution for your recurring problem of bleed through in creative Bibles too. Just please let us know what you think and how it worked out for you if you do it!
I have the beautiful words niv it's gorgeous. I use it as my prayer bible. I got it for my birthday from husband.

My first coloring bible was the Modern English bible and I love it for its updated translation of the King James version. I got it on a second bookstore, unused on my later father's bithday! And the price was 75% lower than other illustrated bibles!
My inspire bible is my favorite.
In bible study at church we've been reading both the NRSV and the Message next to each other. It is really interesting to see how they differ and how they are the same.

If you use either Amazon Basic pencils or the Arteza Premium pencils, they lay down great color without showing through

My cousin loves to color, and she is a KJV Onliest... So... That’s what I’m looking for as a gift for her.
Which one has the thickest paper? I want one that won’t tear in 3 seconds and where the pens won’t go through so badly and basically disintegrate the paper. I have a set of tabs for a bible but I’m afraid to use them and tear it.
I need to do this I honestly need to grow closer to god I feel like one of these would keep me going

@Rose Lilly Thank you for your comment and opinion. Bible journaling is not degrading the Bible. It's actually spending time engaging with it and with God. People who Bible journal report spending more time in the Word than those who do not.

I have the NLT Inspire Bible with the flexible cover with a bird, butterfly & flowers on the cover. I wish someone would come out with an Amplified Journaling/Coloring Bible.

The Joyce Meyer Bible is amazing. Anything by Joyce Meyers is above and beyond IMHO.

Hmmm....depends if the graphic designer doesn't want to do graphics when they Bible journal (kind of like how some hair stylists don't cut their own hair if you know what I mean). If he/she does want to do their own graphics, then you'll want a non-coloring version. I'd recommend the Illustrating Bible for larger space. For a graphic designer who doesn't want to do his/her own graphics...I recommend the Inspire Praise edition. Hope this helps!
Are you familiar with any coloring Bibles that also have study notes? Probably not going to find the same amount as the life application, but some study material would be nice. My wife would really like one.
No. At this point I have not come across a coloring Bible/study Bible combo but that's a great idea!

Chalk will smear. You can try a spray fixative to help keep it from smearing.

Maybe reach out to the big stores who publish these Bibles. I know a lot of them do give away to start ups or for churches who are in need.

It's really sad that the Catholics don't have any options except for the inspire bible which is so poorly done.

The Illuminated bible lost a few points with me just because of the name which is very similar to ILLUMINATI.
That was my first thought when I heard about this Bible

I cannot believe they made bibles coloring books. Terrible misuse of the bible.

Purple is a color I like
We should be careful not to make an idol out of the Bible. God wants us engaged with His Word, not worshiping a book.
@@queenria7 most worship the Bible because it's God's word. Coloring gets people involved in their studies of the Word. We don't always have to make something positive, negative. There is enough of that in the world.
