Thanks for this very helpful video. I tried using Light Gun Metal (LP-20) on a thin string "cable" per your method followed immediately by a coating of Dark Steel pigment (Vallejo 73.123). After running the slightly wet "cable" through the pigment and my fingers a few times to impregnate and polish the pigment, the results were quite good. Proper color and a nice metallic sheen at scale. I wouldn't have tried this without your inspiration. I think it's my go-to method now.

Got to say, Rick - they look fantastic! Shrink wrap - brilliant idea - I can't believe it never crossed my mind. 🤦‍♂I shall be trying that, thanks. Cracking video. 👍

I always use karaya cables there just perfect I get them in my local model shop for everything to my recovery armour trucks to bergepanzers panther's and normal tow cable's! They hold a shape really nice no sprinyness in them atoll it's like when you take heat to brass there like that! If you've never heard of them honestly I couldn't recommend anything better!

So. You ask a question I have been working on. Short of stripping wire, I haven't found it yet. The tow cables are about .7 to .8 mm. I haven't found anything right. I know it's out there.

@@Ricks135scalemodels Copy that. I was shopping at Spruce Brothers and found some by Eureka XXL Tow Cables. But would be better to find something more in bulk. I have about 15 vehicles lined up... LOL. Love the work you're doing on your channel, you should have a ton more subscribers. Joined! Great tips you have for either beginners or modelers like myself who have been out of the game for a decade. A lot has sorta changed but UA-cam is a godsend for info and insight offered.

I hate youtubers who post but never talk to viewers. It's part of the enjoyment is learning from each other.
