Still have my dads bobcat he purchased new in the early 90s. The only thing that’s the same is the colors lol. Impressive how far technology has come, but that machine has paid for itself 10 times over. It’s so valuable. We have had hydraulic leaks, had motor replaced, teeth sharpened and replaced but with the new motor it should last us another 10-20 years. I couldn’t imagine not having one now that I do have one. The next must is a mini excavator.
As a current ski-steer operator foot pedals are much much better haven’t gotten my hands on a joystick operated bucket but love my foot pedals

Today 14 feb 2018 i was watching bobcat the animal and suddenly i saw this video, i didnt think they call this machine a bobcat, i liked the way that the sir explained how to drive it with few minutes, its a valuable lesson to drive unusual vehicle within couple minutes, thank u.

As I know sir, bobcat is a company name, and this equipment is called skidsteerloader/skidloader. I'm one operator of this machine untill now. I didn't Operate this new one crosswise joystick, I'd Operate the old model which is pedals for bucket and boom, travel for lever joystick.

@@bekabeka71 from what i understand, no, where I live anyways. Before being able to rent, you must be able to show that you know or are able to safely operate the machine. Either by having prior experience or after receiving instruction or quick training.

It's been awhile since I operated one, nice tutorial. I was really good at operating one, and believe it's going to be like riding a bike so to speak. Don't think it will take long for me to operate safely.

Id love a newer one with this kind of joystick setup. So much easier to move the machine with one hand and use the other hand for lift and bucket movement

I don't have good use of my legs so the joysticks make it a lot better for someone like me.

Depends on what rating you get. I've seen them go for around $200 - $300 for a day.

It's been 4yrs since I've operate one and nobody one site will explain the that's there it has a control panel you have to punch a code in for I've never seen a panel like it in a skid steer

They don't make them like the used to. I also hate the digitization appearing in all equipment - to many parts to break down and monopolize on. Not to mention the possibility of software hackers and bugs.
I have 2300 hours on a 2013 S550 and so far no problems. I just orderd bushings for the control linkage, I bought the bobcat without the electronic joysticks. Great so far.

Mine have pedals and i use both joysticks for moving the vehicles and pedals to move the digger... interesting

Bobcats are obsolete pieces of shit. Everything from controls to comfort they are all subpar nowadays. Every machine company can make a better skid steer than Bobcat
