Thank you for sharing your experience. The same thing just happened to my Chanel black caviar leather bag. After using a sensitive cleanser, I waited three days and then applied a pure hydrating product, waiting another three days afterward. Unfortunately, the bag now feels sticky and soft to the touch and has lost its shine completely. I'm wondering if the hairdryer method might work on caviar leather as well.

Would you recommend these products for the lighter colours of Chanel? I have also a pre loved double cc flap in Claire lambskin and I’m terrorised to clean it/shine it
Thanks for the review! After watching you for a few weeks about your Chanel experience, I decided to order a pre-loved lambskin maxi as a “push” present! So nervous as it’s my first Chanel and I don’t really know what to expect. But I am looking forward to seeing if I like the bag or not in real life and if I keep it I will be getting a couple of products to clean. Would you recommend only the anti bac + dermo? If I wanted to just mildly clean and protect the bag that is 10 years old and in great condition?
trudetrudy Ooh, lambskin maxi!!! 👏 Push gift means you just gave birth... congrats!!!!! Ok so I would definitely recommend the anti bacterial cleanse and even though the pure hydrate product turned my bag matte, I do think hydration is important before you protect the bag. Just don’t be like me and glob it on right after the anti bacterial. Good luck and enjoy!!!!! 💕

For all my leather goods, I love using the Cadillac boot and shoe leather lotion, have to make sure it’s the lotion option because there are other variations. It will both clean and condition your bag, one and done. You just have to buff it gently with a microfiber cloth. I have tried several leather conditioners and the Cadillac is the one I prefer the most. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for another alternative.
litoserenity I’ve used the Cadillac lotion on my ysl toy LouLou and it worked well. 👍 I never thought to use it on my Chanel! Thanks for sharing! Have you used it specifically on Chanel lambskin?
hello catwalk city no Chanels in my collection yet 😅 but it’s worked well on all the leathers that I’ve tried. I always do a small spot test on a discrete area whenever I try out a new product, so I can be assured that it wouldn’t react badly with the type of leather. Also, I would wait 24 hours in between ALL the products, even the protect one, because that’s usually the rule of thumb for leather products.
This is the most helpful video I have found! especially since I recently bought a vintage Chanel Diana bag 😊 and I was uneasy how older bags would do when you try these treatments

They lied because i didnt even do the first step and used the pure hydrate and the shine is gone.

Thank you for the video. Is very useful 👏 There are small repairs or maintenance that we all prefer to do at home to save some money and not to have to send the bag by post somewhere and not having it for several weeks. Your experience with these products and this leather is definitely very helpful.

Hi! I would say it doesn’t do much for creases other than moisturize and perhaps make it a tad bit less noticeable.

Hi! If it makes you feel better, I did send one to the leather surgeons and the leather came back a little dull as well. Although I definitely recommend them, I think treating the leather will regardless make the bag a little dull. And by the way, yours is looking absolutely gorgeous! 🤍🤍

Thank you for this video! What are your thoughts on using wet wipes (water based, non-alcohol ones) and the UV light sterilizer on your Chanel? Because of Covid-19 I'm scared to use my bag outside.. 😬 i checked the antibacterial cleanse online but i dont think they deliver to the Philippines and if ever they do, for sure it will be expensive, so still checking on other alternatives. Plus im scared to clean my bag on my own... haha afraid to ruin it...
Personally I wouldn’t use regular wet wipes as that may dehydrate your leather over time. I would only use products made specifically gentle enough for Lambskin.

These products are specifically for leather so I wouldn’t recommend using them on canvas dear. Hope this helps!

HELP Hello Catwalk City! I am trying the heated blowdryer technique to get the dull matte finish off my vintage small Chanel Doubleflap. I say about 99 percent of my chain indents on the leather flap is gone tho! But the leather is ugly, dull and a flat mat. Maybe I'm missing a step. When the leather is heated do I just buff with a dry cloth?
debbie h Buff it gently and then let is sit out for a day overnight. Mine looked much better the next day. Keep me posted!!

I rewatched your video and you did mention you had the dryer on the bag for about 10 mins. Well I did about 1 min. Lol. Then I would buff, and I'll do 1 min again and buff. debbie h Don’t overdo it!! I think you should see what it looks like tomorrow. Are you using the dryer after applying hydration?
@@hellocatwalkcity yes I think I am in a panic and need to slow down. Lol. I tried the blow dryer but nothing really happened as far as bringing back the shine. I put my good faithful Kate Spade conditioner on it (used on my other 2 Chanels and other bags) and it looks less dull now so that did help. It is still dull however. I will wait about 2 days. It could be that the leather conditioner just needs to dry down into the leather. I will analyze in 2 says and if it still looks like dull I will take it to where my Chanel SA sends her people to when Chanel declines a repair (which they will on my bag since I put product on it). They are local. I'll just take my bag in and see what he suggests. I did get a benefit with the blow dryer tho! All my chain link imprints on the flap (except a teeny one) are GONE and the ripples in the quilts on the flaps are nice and smooth! Crazy! The overall structure of the bag looks better too. I had heat on bag while the bag was stuffed so maybe that helped form the bag??? wow, it will look like a new bag once it is dyed. The gold hardware is rich 24kt gold! I'll let you know what I end up doing, the cost and the outcome! Thanks for all your input! 😍♥️

Well i think i just ruined my vintage lamb skin with this stuff.. it looks way more dull now and looks even dryer.
Did you put the protect one on before the hairdryer? Or should i protect afterwards?
I tried the hair dryer and it helped SLIGHTLY. But Some sections and quilts now look RAW there is zero shine. Im so upset. It wasnt even in bad condition before i just wanted to rejuvenate it a little and giver some hydration.
Do you think a leather polish or wax would help? Ahh im so scared and kind of freaking out right now... @hellocatwalkcity
Oh no! Stop putting anything else on and let it air out for at least 24 hours and see if the shine comes back!!! Don’t pile on any more product right now.
@@hellocatwalkcity i left it for 2 days now. A little shine is back. But there are some bald spots that i dont think are going to return to normal. ☹☹ around the edges mainly. Maybe i rubbed too hard? I wish i never touched it! Now im stuck with it. Im actually losing sleep ☹ i would say avoid the hyrdrate product.

Just bought a brand new 20b black lambskin mini square but it came with a small surface scratch on the front from people handling at the store I guess. Since it’s a hard to get item and I live so far from the store, I decided to get it hoping that buffing with the white cloth that it came with or just my fingers would be enough. But I still see the scratch. :( I tried the apple conditioner and the Cadillac lotion but that didn’t do much either. Do you thing the pure hydrate would work? I am thinking of ordering just that. It is brand new and I am scared that I might damage/change the leather. It’s just on one quilt in the flap and that’s the only place I would put the conditioner...
Oh no, was it the only one left in store? I assume so if they didn’t give you a new one from the back. I would say try the moisturizing lotion to see if the hydration helps minimize the scratch. I ordered products from thehandbagspa.com for my vintage lambskin classic flap and it worked nicely. Good luck dear!
hello catwalk city Yes, they just started to receive the 20b collection and had one mini square and one mini rectangular in lambskin. The rectangular had no scratches but since I am only 5 feet, the strap of the square fit me much better. I was visiting family that day and I live 5 hours away so I panic purchased it especially since I know there will be another price increase soon. I kind of also assumed that the scratch will easily be buffed out. Most people won’t notice the scratch unless I point it out. Still bothers me. Is the moisturizer called pure hydrate?
Sandra Yes dear, it’s called pure hydrate. Hopefully it works for you. Just don’t apply any other products before or after for at least 24 hours.
