  • Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave the Sikhs the gift of 5 Kakkars upon being blessed with Amrit. The kakkars helps us control the 5 evils, brings us closer to Vaheguru, and helps us serve humanity. But it is also our duty to care for the kakkars as they are extensions of our body.
To learn how to care and ensure highest level of respect for the kakkars, watch this video.

Apply hair mask or conditioner on damp hairs.
Wrap a towel over your hairs. Towel should be soaked in warm water and squeezed before wrapping on head.
Keep it there for 30 mins to 1.5 hr.
Take a wide tooth comb or tangle tezeer ( it's a comb for wet hairs) .
      Try to brush them.
      Start from bottom part.
Then go slightly up, while holding the hairs above.

We Sikhs are living still in the 1860’s it’s almost sad guru sahib meant was that we need to be battle ready and should be spiritual that doesn’t mean that we still have to wear kachera’s and carry 1860s swords when we can carry modern day knives which are better with in combat and can be used in real combat situations we should wear a normal size karda and we should see that we all don’t always have to wear a sling type gatra it can be placed anywhere that a sikh feels is necessary or is good for a combat situation. We Are Sikhs I would even suggest Wearing a gun because this is not the 1800s

But you really think that even if we read gurbani every, follow gurbani in our life, go good deeds as taught by our gurus, still our guru will get angry on me just because I tied my beard ? Bai ji if we read guru granth sahib, it has no such reference in it. All these things are made by committee members now. Their main focus now days is only on apperance, rather than gurbani itself.

      @harmeet094 Рік тому +4

@@nihang_gaming1313 brother i dont think guru ji will be bothered whether my beard is open of tiedup. This is something committee members have made up. I tend to believe gurbani and guru granth sahib ji more than what committee members say.
Sikhi was supposed to be above all these wordly rituals, and was supposed to help connect on a spiritual level with god. But nowdays we are so much focused on all this, people are forgetting gurbani. Many young sikhs nowdays would have very fancy stylish turban, but won't be able to recite even Japji Sahib.
We are being told that swaroop is important, but did we try to understand why ? We were made saint soldiers by our gurus, and saints always keep uncut big hairs, but why? The reason is simple, to stop themselves from getting indulged in the human worldly materialistic desires like fashion and style and all, instead to be better able to concentrate on their meditation. Now we keep uncut hairs, but came up with 100s of turban style, hence the story is still the same.
That's actually also the reason people ask beard to be kept open, because usually people tie beard because of looks, and once you are indulged in your looks, you wont be able to achieve higher level in meditation. Personally in my case, 90% of time my veard is tied up, because i no more care about the "stylish appearance", once i started understanding gurbani, idea of style itself seems useless and wastage of time to me. Rest 10% of time i keep my beard tied up because that's what my job demands from me.
See if we push our kids towards gurbani, and try to teach them essence of it, and teach them to meditate, once they get a better understanding of gurbani, they will automatically get seprated from these wordly desires and will stop cutting hairs and all other things. But instead people nowdays just push their kids only towards appearance of a sikh, and rarely teaches them importance of gurbani.
Anyway, thanks for your reply bro, its good to have an intellectual conversation with someone.

I have uncut hairs & beard, but i literally can't understand logic behind storing the combed out hairs in a bag and then burn the hairs instead of throwing in dustbin? This is way too much. Even when we take shower or wash beard, hairs will fall out while washing, even beard hairs falls out, so as per the logic given in video, is it a insult to the hairs because few of them are going down the drains with water? I really don't understand the logic behind it. What will happen if my combed out hairs are thrown in duatbin? Is it a sin? Will god become angry with me? I agree with everything else of what they say here though, important to teach respect/value of the kakaar. Burning/cremating your hair to me feels completely unneeded. @@Mister.Miracle exactly, these kind of things push young kids away. Everyone is just blindly focusing on "bana", no one is bothered about 'gurbani'. Most of the young kids thinks now days that just keeping hair is enough, they are not even able to do japji sahib path.
Guru nanak dev ji took us out of un-necessory rituals that was followed by hindus, but now, we too are making these rituals which have no connection with gurbani. Now if you ask someone why we keep uncut hairs, their reply nowdays is : our guru like hairs. No, guru didn't do anything just because they liked it, everything had a purpose. Guru made us saint soldiers, and all saints keep hairs so that they dont get involved in useless worldly desires like "looks" and all. But now, we have 100s of turban style, so the thing is again the same.
I just don't understand how we came this far away from gurbani nowdays. I request all, instead of focusing on appearance of young kids, try to teach them gurbani. Once they absorb the amrit of gurbani in their hearts, the khalsa appearance will automatically comes.

@@samarjeetsingh1305 i understand that, and i am not asking them to stop doing this. But its their personal preference, they should not try to teach others that "this is how it should be done otherwise its wrong".

We can spend hours on end and money on cleaning our homes and dispose of unwanted/unused items in line with council policies, as opposed to a 'quick fix' like flytipping. Keeping my kes and disposing of it in this way does not seem time consuming or even cost money. My kids never question it and have got used to it. This does not push young people out of sikhi, kaljug does. Vaheguru Ji
