yeah, im new to thps, when I got the game and heard this song, I thought it was from the original game. I wanted to put it in my playlist and i was suprised that this is only 2 years old. EDIT: it probably helped that I remembered the name of the band because they had a song in ssx3 (one of the best games on the ps2)
Finally a punk rock/pop punk song for the married w/ kids generation. I’m 31 and married with 2 little girls. I still love this music but can’t relate to the breakup or stay out all night with your friends lyrical content that pervades the pop punk genre. This song hit home and I love it.
Couldn’t agree more. Just stumbled upon this song and love it. Used to be in a pop punk band years ago and now married with 4 kids. During the pandemic I wrote punk songs for my kids and other young parents. Call it Pop Punk Jesus. If you get a chance check it out: ua-cam.com/play/OLAK5uy_nUn2fMpEqIgR_gGj-J0p39qQ5lfEFqCIU.html
As a now 35 year old man with pregnant wife and happy life (and still listening to mxpx), this song and video is actually very touching - ‘I’m not crying, you’re crying!’
43 with a kid in college. They were playing local shows and were still in high school at central Kitsap when I started listening. You could get their albums at the Bible book store back then haha
you dont hear this type of music anymore on the radio...this type were the soundtrack of my youth days, and im glad there are still some bands that still do what they do. so thanks MxPx, its nice to remember those days just by listening to kick ass music like this.
I'M REALLY SORRY THIS COMMENT IS SO LONG: It's been a long ride with MxPx, growing up with them. Albums and songs I loved, some I liked less. The DIY period, the “sell out” period, the return to roots period. All different, but all great because it got MxPx to where they are today - making gems like this. It's weird watching the video and looking back 25+ years into my own life - amazing how 3 minutes of video and this song can resonate with what it was like growing up for so many years. For thousands of hours - being an outcast in junior high and high school, then college - driving to and from hundreds shows played by my own band, sleeping in vans and on motel floors, MxPx was so often the soundtrack and the music I escaped with in my headphones. Then when the time came to move on and "get a real job" and be an adult, at 35 years old, I sometimes feel like that same outcast. But this music is still there for me like it was 20 years ago. I can still remember being 16 and listening to Life in General on cassette for the first time ever when my friend lent me his portable tape player on a camp bus trip that was 2 hours long. I listened to the whole tape/whole album 4 times over each way on the trip. I was hooked and my life would forever change. This song and video made me cry. Thanks for everything, MxPx.
Thanks for your long comment. I even done it.)) I am was not same fan for so long, but also many! time.. It's about from the 2003 and I remember the Let It Happen Deluxe Edition CD/DVD that I was bought in the preorder on the Interpunk with the MxPx fingerboard))) and now I am walking on the same roads at weekends and this really warm memories.
Quoth the Raven i totally get u man! And don’t worry, a long message doesn’t have to be necessarily boring, yours is totally true and I’m also sure that most of us, (30’s punk rock listeners and above) understand how this video and song touched you, cuz essentially, we feel the same! Regards from Brazil bro!
I'm 37 now, which isn't old, but when I started listening to MXPX, I would have said it was. Thank you for this video- I'm in tears. We all gotta grow up sometime.
Oh tony I’m 37 and your comment is 2 years old it’s almost the halfway point brother but you never have to grow up I never did and I’m a widower with 3 kids my oldest is 14 stay safe and stay frosty and stay young at heart
Reading through the comments it seems like MxPx has the pretty solid community of like minded folks. I found them when I was 13 or so getting into punk because of my friends. They didn’t curse and I liked that. Their music expressed what I couldn’t. I was good in school but not too cool, and not hard enough to fit in with the punk crowd. But the music was fast and cool and made me feel that way too. I stuck with them through high school, got my punk head belt buckle when it showed up on before everything and after, listened to secret weapon when I got my wisdom teeth out, went to college, bonded with other relatively uncool smart kids over mxpx, got a degree, had some kids. Found this song probably about 5-10 years after I really got too busy chasing my career to follow music anymore, and it seems like I have the same story as a lot of folks on here. Their music and videos still fit me, and make me feel as cool as they used to do. It's good to be back. Maybe i'll dig out my old buckle. The young middle age guy studying and still loving punk rock in the video 👌🏻
I never did get to see on of their shows. I always wanted to, but they had a knack for scheduling them right over my calculus tests… Next time you’re in SLC I’m there!
Damn MXPX... this song still brings all the feels. It causes me to remember my first anniversary with my wife, where we visited the Pacific northwest and happened to pass thru Bremerton by accident...then after only a few years moving from the west coast to the east coast. We truly drove all night until we got to the rocky mountains. And then the next day, in the early morning, we left for several years while my wife an baby still asleep in the bAck of the car during the summer of 2011. We longed for those mountains as we left. And this song brings back those memories strongly. Now that I've returned to the west, it's even more meaningful now. Thank you for this song and for the relevant impact on my life and my family... I even sing it to my kids as they go to sleep at night. We are starting into see blues skies, finally. It means a lot. TAKE CARE.!
Conheci Mxpx em 2003 quando eu tinha 17 anos, e hoje tenho 32 , estou casado e tenho uma bebê de 1 ano, Maria Clara, e continuo escutando até hoje. Minha banda favorita.
How beautiful is this song. It causes a mixture of various feelings: nostalgia, hope, happiness and resilience. I can say that this song changed my life. I came out of the bottom of my sadness and depression. Thank you very much MxPx.
This song makes me feel old and young at the same time. I listened to these guys when I was in in my teens, being in my 30s now I haven't really changed much outside of the normal growing up responsibilities. Life changes but stays the same. I still love this kind of music and have changed over the years in my taste in music, but this kind of song just hits home.
Well someone is cutting onions in this room... WTF This hit me in so many levels. MXPX helped me through school, life, and love. Damn Here I am at age 30 enjoying their tunes more than ever. Thank you guys for writing so many soundtracks to my life. #stillrunning
I had stopped keeping up with MxPx around 2003 or so. I pulled up this song and video for the first time with my 4-month-old daughter while at home. It made her smile... and it made me cry happy tears. I'm a renewed man and fan.
I've been following you guys since I was 14 years old way back in the Christian Punk Rawk scene. Now I'm 35 and have a wife and 2 kids and it's be a great ride and I'm enjoying still listening to you through it all. Thanks guys! Excited to indulge in the new album and have my 3 year old get a little taste of my teenage years!
This song really takes me back! I'm now about to turn 33, married with 2 children. I know it's not the best feeling, but this song, kind of reminds me that my happiest days are behind me now. That youth, rage and daredevil traits are no longer with me, and sometimes I really miss it, just doing what I wanna do, you know? Great song anyway!!
2006 the first time i hear songs from mxpx, when i was in senior high school, until now when i was married and become a father.. You're the best guys ,i'm your fans from indonesian
I didn't find MXPX; they found me. In the year 2012, I was 12 years old. My dad took my older brother to buy CDs at a music store. My dad told me to pick one, but I honestly didn't have a preference for any music genre. Among the shelves of albums, one in particular caught my attention because of the illustration of Pokinatcha, and it was the album 'Ten Years and Running.' I got home, listened to it, and since that day, I haven't stopped listening to MXPX. Almost 22 years later, I'm still here, just like the first day, listening to songs that take me back to my adolescence. Greetings from Guatemala!
Todd Osterhout that's awesome man, congrats! My wife's parents were that age when they had her and they're so amazing and insightful. Best of luck to you!
Been in love with this band ever since I discovered them in 2016. One of the best underrated West Coast punk rock bands in the world. I have numerous CD's which I'm listening to right now. Rock On boys!!
This song feels like a culmination of my youth. Unfortunately my two skate buddies that introduced me to MxPx aren’t with us anymore, but they’re alive every time I listen.
Man, my son is closing in on the age I was when I first heard MXPX as a 15 year old young punk. Played this song for him today and he's already heard on it Tony Hawk he said. Then we played the classics. Bremerton and Punk Rawk
I just first heard about MxPx after seeing an episode of Fixer Upper on HGTV with Mike Herrera and his wife Holli. I googled him just to check out his music. Love it!
This song/video got me in the feels. I grew up on MxPx (first CD I ever bought). I love this band and the spirit of their music. I love that they released this album on their terms! Amazing song! Can't wait to hear the rest of the album.
I grew up listening to the early days of this band as my stepdad played there tunes constantly in the car on the way to school and everywhere in between. Now hes gone, but I realize how proud, and grateful I am to have had someone like him as my father figure
A couple days ago, I was showing my daughter picture of my college days and realized in almost every one I was wearing my MxPx t-shirts. Now if only Tomfest would start back up.
I actually cried a bit during the baby in the crib wearing the mxpx shirt. All my friends and Brother have kids. I'm just an Uncle. To see how music can be someone's life to the point of passing that love on to your kids is what any loving parent would do. My Brother's Ska band had a shirt made for his 2 year old son. With me and my brother both into music, I'm sure it will rub off on to one of the kids. We both like Ska, so that could happen. My true passion is Christian punk and hardcore. If they so choose to grow up and live their lives for Jesus maybe they'll be into what their Uncle listens to. I still think no matter what they're going to be into ska. I'm probably going to guess to say Less Than Jake. Thank you, MxPx for the heart warming video.
Thank you once again for this I really needed thank you again. I am one man who his life is fed by MxPx. No so many in my city listen to you but me since several years and I will do so until I die. Thank you so very much MxPx. MxPx 4 Eternity.
my favorite bands keep (or kept) putting out good music and im not stuck listening to only their first 2 records... glad MXPX is in that catagory for me
First time I saw mxpx was 1999 the Electric Factory in Philadelphia Pennsylvania it was my first Punk show and I'm thankful for this band everyday since
I turned 29 today, and man has it been a hell of a ride. I've joined the air force, been around the world twice, had a lot of ups and downs, but I'm ready to see what else life has in store for me. Let's keep riding! The Rockies aren't too far from here.... here's to the future!
Band of my life! In march 2006 as I was skiing off piste in Kosovo mountains, I got hit by an avalanche that carried me away 200 meters and buried me alive. During those moments under the snow I had headphones where MXPX - Wrecking hotel rooms was still playing. After 2 minutes help came from my two fellow skiers and I came out alive
One, two, three, go About the time that I turned fourteen I got a job doin' landscaping Those days were long and my old boss was mean About the time that I turned sixteen I got a car and no place to be I'd fill up the tank and drive out to the sea The Rockies ain't too far from here if we drive all night The cold air will do you well in the mountain morning light So, let's ride Let's ride on through the rain Come on and take me anywhere That you wanna be So, let's ride By the time that I turned nineteen I'd seen so much, yet I was still green It's taken me a time or two to learn the things I watched you do for me There I was at twenty-nine I can't believe I'm still alive Though it was never easy, yeah, you and me were born to survive The Rockies ain't too far from here if we drive all night The cold air will do you well in the mountain morning light So, let's ride That was my escape A way to change the tape That was playin', that was playin' in my head The Rockies ain't too far from here if we drive all night The cold air will do you well in the mountain morning light So, let's ride Let's ride on through the rain Come on and take me anywhere That you wanna be Let's ride, Let's ride Let's follow the skyline And when we make it to the other side We'll find all the bluest skies
Oh man I haven't heard MXPX in like 9 or 10 years 😱 I had no idea they were still making music and rocking shows! It gives me goosebumps hearing this and makes me smile seeing that they're still making music 🤘🏻
Remember seeing you guys at the Palace in Hollywood in '96 with Homegrown opening for you. I'm 50 now and still jam with you..Can't wait to see you live again!
I'm just here, along with a bunch of others in their mid 30's who have been there since the beginning, just to say we're old now. I'll listen to this over any new band any day.
I was never an MxPx fan. Heard this song and said okay, they're pretty cool. One week later: this is my fucking anthem. Two weeks later: plays this song to start the day. Three weeks later: MxPx is my life.
Just like THPS did for me years ago, I again am met with a song I grew to love because of a love for skating. A passion that’s been with me since I was a kid twenty years ago. The magic of the culture is, everything seems suspended in time. My first board, my cousins first trick, the nights we stayed up all night playing this game that bonded us and had us rolling. I had the job for f filming my cousin because I couldn’t land any tricks. We loved everything about being there and participating in something we had to figure out. To this day, I still feel like that kid. Let’s kick out the jams! Get on your board! Nothing but joy on the other side! -RIP Dylan Collier-
chilling with my brother in his studio with a cup of coffee and cigarettes after school in 2009 listening to punk / pop punk playlist ... ah man wish i could go back
Glad they're still around! Let It Happen was the first punk cd I ever bought when I was 15, here I am 33 still punk Lol I like the video too! Keep going
This is a good song. I keep coming back to it over and over. It makes me feel bad that not very many bands are still making music like this. My kids and I started listening to MXPX many years ago but now they are all grown so when I listen to them now it makes me feel sad that life has changed so much. We used to have a family rock band and played pop punk at a lot at concert venues all around the state and now my grandkids have started playing it.
This song has made a profound impact on my life. I’ve found it thanks to THPS 1+2 and it always reminds me of a recently passed friend who loved his rides and his escape. Thank you MXPX for the wonderful song and memories that will always live in my head because of it. Gone too soon, fly high buddy.
i've been listening to Mxpx since i was 13... now im 38, its been a looooong ride, an awesome ride
Damn. Me too.
Exactly the same timeline as you.
I’m just chillin in the house hearing the kids play outside and I can’t believe that I’m adulting.
Hi mate! Listen me on my channel!
Same bro. Saw them live so many times as a kid. Would love to see them again on tour.
Same dude! What a ride
They age like a fine wine! 💪🏽
Glad this is gonna be in THPS 1+2 Remaster! sounds like something that would have been in the original games!
Liev
It fits so well
All the non original songs fit in the game so well
Fits in perfectly. Finally played it a couple nights ago and was stoked to hear it.
yeah, im new to thps, when I got the game and heard this song, I thought it was from the original game.
I know this is an old comment, but another great "aging punk rockers" song is Falling Apart by Lagwagon
All those nights jumping in the car at 17 with a box of sodas to get over to a friend's house for a joy ride. Plus this hometown band really connects.
shit im 6 years too late, but this never hit me till I had a kid, seeing the kid at the end in the crib.. crazy stuff
Still listening in 2039 and remembering with nostalgia the return of Tony Hawk's games with Pro Skater 1+2 in 2020
Yesssiiirrr, good throwback vibes all dayyy ⛽🙏🏾
Its been 20 years this song is still good in the 30's .
As a now 35 year old man with pregnant wife and happy life (and still listening to mxpx), this song and video is actually very touching - ‘I’m not crying, you’re crying!’
martinwilko I will be turning 35 next month!! Heck yeah!! God bless you!! Here’s to a happy life!! Cheers!! 🍻
37 here. Introduction to MxPx was Teenage Politics.
I'm 51. Great Forgetting Sarah Marshall reference!!! ❤
43 with a kid in college. They were playing local shows and were still in high school at central Kitsap when I started listening. You could get their albums at the Bible book store back then haha
Same here dude. Good luck with the kid. It's a killer ride :)
A Telecaster on one side and a Les Paul on the other one: Perfect Punk Rock Tone!
Hola Tio Guitar! Me alegra saber que escuche bandas como Mxpx, debería un dia hablar de Mxpx en en canal, saludos desde Chile, blessing!

Pretty much my exact story bud. I couldn't believe how emotional this video made me.

Reading through the comments it seems like MxPx has the pretty solid community of like minded folks. I found them when I was 13 or so getting into punk because of my friends.

It's good to be back. Maybe i'll dig out my old buckle. The young middle age guy studying and still loving punk rock in the video 👌🏻
I never did get to see on of their shows. I always wanted to, but they had a knack for scheduling them right over my calculus tests…
Next time you’re in SLC I’m there!

I’m 41 now. And now I play songs for my son....watching his eyes grow with wonder as mine did. Let’s ride.
I listened to this while I was riding through the rain with my dad on our motorcycles. I couldn't stop crying for probably half an hour.
This video makes me want to go back and do it all over again but with purpose this time...
Still remember being a kid and finding an MXPX album randomly at my local Christian music store. Been a fan ever since

After 20 years of being a fan, this is exactly what I want to hear from MxPx.
I had stopped keeping up with MxPx around 2003 or so. I pulled up this song and video for the first time with my 4-month-old daughter while at home. It made her smile... and it made me cry happy tears. I'm a renewed man and fan.

I feel something special for this band! You are part of my life.

Todd Osterhout that's awesome man, congrats! My wife's parents were that age when they had her and they're so amazing and insightful. Best of luck to you!
matto dude thanks you too. Remember to be patient with them cause they are trying at times but they are worth it!!
Been in love with this band ever since I discovered them in 2016.
One of the best underrated West Coast punk rock bands in the world.
I have numerous CD's which I'm listening to right now. Rock On boys!!
Introduced to MXPX at 15 years young, 35 years young now... Still listening and love them today! Amazing lyrics and video. MXPX!!!
Saywha 82 20 years and running! I was 12 now 32
Alan McCool 18 years for me! Started listening to them in 2000 at the age of 14. \M/
Ha I was 15 also in OKC!! And also now 35!! Sweet!
Started listening in 2000 when I was 13 I'm now 31 and still my favourite band. Got the pokinatcha punk tattooed on my leg when I was 16. Glad I did!!
Saywha 82 Same here dude. Its been a good ride
Mxpx is the best band ever from the 90s to 2023
im so glad they added this song to THPS 1 + 2 Remastered. This is honestly such a good song!!
This song feels like a culmination of my youth. Unfortunately my two skate buddies that introduced me to MxPx aren’t with us anymore, but they’re alive every time I listen.
I play this song for my 7 month old daughter everyday. Thank you guys.
Man, my son is closing in on the age I was when I first heard MXPX as a 15 year old young punk. Played this song for him today and he's already heard on it Tony Hawk he said. Then we played the classics. Bremerton and Punk Rawk
So thoughtful. Been a fan since 1994. Glad they still put out the jams. Looking forward to this album.
MXPX is aged wine. And a video shot inside a landscape storage bin will win my heart any day. Love this.
Hahaha. Nobody has ever called that out before. Big props!
Ohh man, what a ride! Beautiful story. Beautiful video, fucking awesome song.
Thank you, guys.
I just first heard about MxPx after seeing an episode of Fixer Upper on HGTV with Mike Herrera and his wife Holli. I googled him just to check out his music. Love it!
This song since released has become my literal life story! Never related to a song more in my life!
This video is totally about me! I've liked Mxpx since I was 13, 18 years later im still cranking their jams...
OMFG Thank for this!!!! I'm still listening to MXPX!!!!!! since I was a teen and now I'm almost 40
23 years later still listening to MxPx.
This song/video got me in the feels. I grew up on MxPx (first CD I ever bought). I love this band and the spirit of their music. I love that they released this album on their terms! Amazing song! Can't wait to hear the rest of the album.
Wow, I've been an MXPX fan for 22 years. This is the first time they've made me cry.
2019!!!!!!!!!!!!fan since 2003!!!!!!!
DESDE CHILE.. INCREIBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
Grave Time My dad passed on his music tastes to me. I would have never liked Korn or slipknot if it wasnt for him
So glad these guys are still making good music. Don’t move to Bremerton.
A lot of these bands are coming back with absolutely SUPERB material! It’s fucking great!
This is a banger
It's not often that an already successful band makes a new most popular song 25 years into their career. What a banger!
I swear they’re like fine wine and just get better with age. This is why they’re still one of my favorite artists out there! #Mxpx4Life
Thank you once again for this I really needed thank you again. I am one man who his life is fed by MxPx. No so many in my city listen to you but me since several years and I will do so until I die. Thank you so very much MxPx. MxPx 4 Eternity.
my favorite bands keep (or kept) putting out good music and im not stuck listening to only their first 2 records... glad MXPX is in that catagory for me
First time I saw mxpx was 1999 the Electric Factory in Philadelphia Pennsylvania it was my first Punk show and I'm thankful for this band everyday since
Beautiful song and video. Couldn't have asked for a better favorite band. Mxpx for life!
I turned 29 today, and man has it been a hell of a ride. I've joined the air force, been around the world twice, had a lot of ups and downs, but I'm ready to see what else life has in store for me. Let's keep riding! The Rockies aren't too far from here.... here's to the future!
MxPx is BACK! Awesomeness returns to planet earth. Thanks Mike, Tom, Yuri & Chris!
Wholesome song
That's how you bridge the gap of punk then and punk now. We've all grown up but have never cut our roots.
Great song, great video.
Respect to MxPx for keeping it real, from a long time fan.
one of the few band 2000 band that didn't change their sound
One, two, three, go
About the time that I turned fourteen
I got a job doin' landscaping
Those days were long and my old boss was mean
About the time that I turned sixteen
I got a car and no place to be
I'd fill up the tank and drive out to the sea
The Rockies ain't too far from here if we drive all night
The cold air will do you well in the mountain morning light
So, let's ride
Let's ride on through the rain
Come on and take me anywhere
That you wanna be
So, let's ride
By the time that I turned nineteen
I'd seen so much, yet I was still green
It's taken me a time or two to learn the things I watched you do for me
There I was at twenty-nine
I can't believe I'm still alive
Though it was never easy, yeah, you and me were born to survive
The Rockies ain't too far from here if we drive all night
The cold air will do you well in the mountain morning light
So, let's ride
That was my escape
A way to change the tape
That was playin', that was playin' in my head
The Rockies ain't too far from here if we drive all night
The cold air will do you well in the mountain morning light
So, let's ride
Let's ride on through the rain
Come on and take me anywhere
That you wanna be
Let's ride, Let's ride
Let's follow the skyline
And when we make it to the other side
We'll find all the bluest skies
Thanks 👍
At my 29' born mi daughter, the part at 01:55 makes me cry, Thank you for this video- I'm in tears
Sounds like Panic era MxPx! Totally down with this!
I'm just here, along with a bunch of others in their mid 30's who have been there since the beginning, just to say we're old now. I'll listen to this over any new band any day.
Yes, COOL! Comeback to Indonesia ASAP!!!
Pandji Moelia baru kemaren om
Ko jadi 4 orang ya personil nya
Here I am... 40 and still riding!
Craziness...
I was never an MxPx fan.
Heard this song and said okay, they're pretty cool.
One week later: this is my fucking anthem.
Two weeks later: plays this song to start the day.
Three weeks later: MxPx is my life.
Love this!
ME TOOOOOOOOOOOO
Real punk and such emotional connection to what punks about. Experience and relatable stories. 41 years old and still listening to punk
Been listening to these guys since ‘96!!! 🤘 rock on!
I'm so glad they're still together. First pop punk band i ever got into back in 2009 when i was 8.
Great song! I'm looking forward to the new album.
-RIP Dylan Collier-
I mean, I knew I'd get that MxPx sound of course with this new stuff but this was so much better than I expected.
Jason I'm always worried that the newest stuff will suck.... Clearly not the case here. This is excellent.
chilling with my brother in his studio with a cup of coffee and cigarettes after school in 2009 listening to punk / pop punk playlist ... ah man wish i could go back
Glad they're still around!
That's so awesome!

What a beautiful video from the boys from MxPx and here's to another 25 years !
