When i was in the army in The early 2000s i used set my stereos internal alarm to turn on at max volume in the barracks playing offsprings 92 album ignition, the first track session at 530 am. "Fuck. Fuck, Fuck, Fuuuuuuck" 😂😂.
Really good interview and especially interviewees. Dex and Noodles are just so great to listen to, so humble and normal, like everyone should be, really. Thanks for this! Love from Brasil :) 🇧🇷
Fuck yeah!! Two down to earth guys that keep on kicking ass. Absolutely love the Offspring and they are 100% pioneers of their music genre and era, can’t wait for the new album 🤘🏻#OLDSCHOOLFAN
This was really interesting interview. Such different topics and vibes in here. Great interview coz you actually let Dexter and Noodles talk openly. The offspring put out an actual fire album amd faster than the last time. Such happy for them to have that energy. They look great and ready to rock this kne on the shows 😎
Indeed. I actually get bored for with interviews such as talking about success of smash or the questions leads the answers like ramones, tsol etc.. You can see how Dexter was shocked when he remembered him about co1 album download back in 2000. I especially getting crazy when he talked about the story of the songs. Those are the questions that I’d always want to ask
Americana and the hit song Pretty Fly were definitely a gateway to punk rock for me. I was 10 when I heard it first time and instantly fell in love with the whole album. After that I found more great bands and got into that "harder stuff" like Bad Religion, Rancid, Strung Out, Vandals, The Clash etc.
I was 12 when the only music I enjoyed was The Prodigy and then I heard Americana and fell in love with it, especially the more serious songs :) Was just starting to understand English and the lyrics impressed me so much.
My favorite band of all time! Been a fan since the mid 90s. I’ve seen them live 9 times and own every album on physical CD. (Yes I still own CDs and DVDs)
Zach is such a great interviewer! great questions. awesome that they mentioned pretty fly because that was the first rock riff i ever heard and started my on my journey
Hiii zach, I'm a big fan of ROSÉ! I remember watching her first guest here for the promotion of her first single album - R - and you guys promised each other that she will be back here again when she releases music in the future (which is it's coming) in December. I hope you invite her again when she starts promoting her upcoming album called 'rosie' 😭❤️
These guys wrote some of the coolest pop punk/grungey cross-over parts of my childhood - they were everywhere. Nothing will top 'Pay the Man'. That song, primarily the first half, made me a musician. I wasn't going to give up until I learned both parts on a guitar.
Although I’m not particularly fond of their new album or much of their recent music, I grew up with Ignition and Smash, and those albums will always hold a special place in my heart as some of my favorites.
The Offspring isn't around though. The Offspring had 2 more original members. The new album has some merits, but it's too much attempting to placate old fans by using old riffs, old sounds, and old styles. Hell, even using the exact same lyrics and tone. I was able to enjoy the album one time listening through it, but as I actually tried to listen to it again, nothing worthwhile on it. And I've been a fan since ignition.
It would be great if that this kind of interview videos has subtitles, even if that are in english, and people of all countries can translate automatically with youtube's tool. Thanks
The music scene in the mid and late 80s was getting ridiculous I know I was one of them, had no idea what was happening up north, ( SEATTLE) , these guys saw it and whent back to basics, THE PUNK SCENE,
@@kovacsmate7877 BRO. I KNOW!!! My favorite Offspring song. Saw them this run and would have “settled” for it… but they didn’t play it at all. I was bummed but they’ve honestly never sounded better as a live band.
There was one extremely formative year of my life where i grew out my hair and had braids inspired by the smash album. Also was shocked by their immediate turn into pop. This was a time when we thought Sublime was coming into main stream but then got some leftover grunge from the offspring. Ive never been a bigger fan of a band and immediately didnt like them in my life. They did have like 4 good songs like 30 years ago. I hope thats what the kids are catching. Also can someone please explain this dynamic between these two??? Its like im watching a Shane gillis but with an MSNBC dad.
What did they do? Taking the vaccine was at that time required in order to go on tour. Pete couldn't take the vaccine and therefore he couldn't tour. Where's the mystery here?
They had to do what they had to do. Pete couldn't take the vax. The offspring wanted to continue touring, and you couldn't without being vaccinated. Don't ever let someone hold you back from going to work and providing for your family.
I'm not vaccinated but i have a family and if i needed to be vaccinated 20 different ways in order for me to work, give me everything you got because i have people depending on me and my belief on what goes into my body is not anywhere near as important to me as taking care of my own.
@paddydemps2291 I'm not the one who did a bunch of insane authoritarian nonsense for a virus with a near 100% survival rate. That's totally on you. Lol
No, because that's not a thing now. And it was a thing back then and it was required to play live shows. Oh also Dexter has a literal PhD in viruses. Hard to grasp huh?
I had no idea they put out new music! I grew up on their albums! So cool
Their new single Make it alright is so good it's addictive.
Yea so did I. But now they are pro establishment bitches who do what the government tells them. They’re fucking posers
The offspring sucks.. they 🤡 🐑
@@sub-zero710 I like it but “Ok, But This Is The Last Time” is much catchier

I laughed so hard at this. Thank you sir, you just made my week.
Ignition is one of the best albums ever written. Dirty Magic is the best song EVER written off the same album.
Remember... these are the "punk rockers" and "rebels" that kicked thier drummer out of the band for refusing to get the poke 💉 Clowns

Just watched the whole thing! Great questions, thankyou for letting them talk and not interrupting you're great hosts!
Such an awesome interview. It even made me realise that The Offspring has been the constant soundtrack of my life.

Punk's not dead!!!❤
Love these guys. Good pod. All the best
great interview - loved The Offspring since I bought Smash in 1995
They seem so genuine and down to earth. Inspires me to be a happier person.
Love these guys sense of humour
Yeah that remark of the kid in the Punk CD store was just the best :) These guys are so chill
I could listen him whole day long. He has indulging voice. ❤❤❤❤❤
9:33 "Americana" and later on "American Idiot" from Green Day are one of the best cultural-x ray of the 90/00 transition.
Love them from day 1.
Such cool dudes, Smash and Americana changed my life.

Loving the new music !

The Chats are a great Australian punk band
Although I’m not particularly fond of their new album or much of their recent music, I grew up with Ignition and Smash, and those albums will always hold a special place in my heart as some of my favorites.
I like the fact Noodles has no shoe laces

Dexter and Noodles are the offspring. Supporting cast comes and goes. They write the songs.
lol noodles trying to back track shitting on doing a stripped down version of songs, when he remember how Dexter does Gone Away now
42:43 those ovens are called autoclaves in case anyone cares.

Huge RUSH fan, 2112 the song is still fantastic, but perhaps Im Goong Bald doesnt hold up

Looking forward to hearing the new album from Kris Kardashian and future Biff.
Hahaha future Biff. Awesome lol
38:21 he’s talking about foo fighters stupid version of everlong
I feel the same when Offspring plays the piano version of Gone away :D

You gotta keep ‘em vaccinated !!
So explain the greatest hits and not including bad habit?
Bad Habit wasn't released as a single, so it wasn't one of their "hits"
you should always "play the old sh1t" 🔥 IGNITION
Is it just me, or does Dexter sound like Brian from Family Guy? If that's already a thing, forgive me, I'm old 😅
Brian, just a bit higher
Bob Rock is stuck in bland work since black album
BE SURE AND GET YOUR BOOSTERS GUYS.. COVID SEASON IS AROUND THE CORNER!
COVID-19 IS ALWAYS HERE & FOREVER... A VIRUS NEVER GOES AWAY..🤨💉🩸🩹💊
You don't have to sound soft
Invite Jennie please 😍
this band was alot cooler before they fired their drummer for not taking the Vac and never letting him come back either.

The Songs "Kill The President & Defy You" ...
What they did to Pete Parada was not Punk at all
What the fuck do you know about punk

The “punk” band that conforms to “Dr” Fauci
Did you have to show proof of the shots before they agreed to come on the show?
