For the tv room I was going to suggest in the area above the couch to get some grow lights and keep them during the polar night with a plant or two on a shelf. I think it might help you guys as well to have some greenery and having grow lights for your plants is a great way to keep them happy when there is no sun.
I love the new things for the cabin. You are a beast carrying the heavy furniture. Christoffer cracks me up with his carrying the heavy things comment. 😂. Can’t wait for more cozy polar night videos.
I live in the Caribbean and many people use shipping companies to get things from ikea, Amazon etc. It also takes about 2 -4 weeks for something to arrive by ship. We have the same excitement when something arrives
Me too!!!! I also live in the Caribbean and relate to so much of her daily struggles like shipping and not always having fresh produce and stuff like that.
Grim is so cute with his sensitive soul. Mom, the carpet has to be just right, ok? Thanks, Mom! Loving this time of transition to Polar nights and your home so pretty and cozy, love your candle arrangements, Beautiful colors of the sunset and landscape. Have a lovely week Cecelia, Christoffer and Grim.💖
Binge watching your videos, and I must say you've really taken command of the whole decorating scene/vibe you now have in your home. The colors are complimentary and are beautifully fluid from room to room. The textures are light and inviting, the lightning isn't harsh or offensive. The place looks modern and uncluttered. Loved how you took us with you month after month on a small mismatched cabin to its glorious uncocooning to a fabulous, warm, inviting home. We'll done to you cecilia and Christopher. Enjoy what you've created these polar nights. ❤ your channel
I'm a maintenance tehnician in a Ikea factory, and I can truly say that it.s the most chipest furniture. They are very focus on low price....for products. I.m from Romania and one of their big factory is here, and we are deliver all around the world from here. And about the place you live, I like it I love it, it.s like you are living in a holiday, vacation house non stop :))))
Thanks for sharing all the hard and great times on the island. It reminds me of living in Okinawa and Hawaii. Everything has to be by sea or plain. It's difficult I agree totally. I do love Cecilas positive attitude about everything!!!!!! SERIOUSLY
I have went down a Cecilia rabbit hole. In the last week I have almost finished all her videos! Her attitude towards life and Christoffers is really phenomenal. I’m trying to channel them and lean towards being more grounded and just enjoying life
I’m binging your videos. They are so much fun and I love your adventures! Your home looks like what I imagine Scandinavian homes to look like. Very well done and put together, effortlessly. I can dream to achieve that someday. ❤
I’m in a financial position now where I can decorate instead of just making do. I am 25% Swedish and still very thrifty, but I still get great ideas 💡 from watching Cecilia. I love her little fairy lights she has around her ceiling and I would love to think of a way to make something like that work in my apartment here in my own version of polar night in Minnesota.
Cecilia, you sure love your Grim. Not many people would risk going bankrupt in order to get the perfect "dog approved" rug. And now Grim has made it extra perfect by the addition of his slobber. The rug in the TV room is gorgeous. Plus, with the pattern, it will hide a multitude of dirt, spills, dirty paw prints, etc. Nice ending to the video - the footage of the sunset was stunning.
I also store my seasonal carpets & runners underneath my current ones. It's a great space saving option! I adore how you're constantly thinking of Grim & his likes & desires. He really has the most perfect home with you guys! After watching this video, I'm never taking my delivery options for granted again! Stay blessed. 💕🌈 💕
I've learned that the furnishings will last longer if your dog doesn't like them so much, so maybe Grim doesn't have to love everything and wear it out. 😁
Exactly. My grandma lived in her home for like 70 years. She hated everything including her life. So when she died all her things looked completely new. It was a win for everyone. Except it wasn’t.
I swear... there is not a dog more loved then Grim 🐕🦺💕. Lol so sweet and he loves the new carpet. He's got GOOD taste lol I love it too. Both rooms look cozy and beautiful 😍. Great job Cecilia!! ❤💕
I have a suggestion, why you covered the new carpet with your couch? Bring your couch back close to the wall more and leave more area of your carpet showing. This way your area dining room more covered with new carpet.
Cecillia i love how comfortable, but also very stylish you have made the cabin. I look forward to seeing more. Grim loves the new carpet, his tail started wagging as soon as he saw it. That dog has great taste also. Best wishes x
I totally understand why they don’t want to drive on the ground. Where you are at is one in a life time to live at. I personally would love to live in a place like that but do to my spouse being disabled the doc clinic stuff. Would make it a little crazy. Love the view you are at. Keep making videos of your beautiful place. At least we can enjoy it from here. Am very happy for you both.
You could build library shelving on the tv wall with the tv sitting in a recess. If the shelving was white it wouldn’t look like it was closing up the doorway too much. 😊
Cecilia, I'm not sure you should store that other carpet underneath the new one. The backing on the top one can wear down the bottom one as you walk and such. Especially if it's a heavy canvas type backing. It might not matter as much if the bottom one has a low pile (less fluff). Just a heads up. ☺️ The new areas look amazing!
I thought the white carpet would look great in the far left corner of the living room underneath that chair (if viewed from the kitchen) maybe with a bit of layering of the carpets, but I don't know if that would give you similar issues with the fluff :)
Quick tip… I keep the name, code, receipt of the item(s) I like and store in a binder so that in the future I have the info at my fingertips if I need to buy a new one of the same item. This also goes for house paint colors, kitchen cabinet manufacturers, etc.
I love your renovations ! And I love your pup , your infectious personality , and I especially like Christoffer’s cooking segments , he really is a very good chef and it adds dimension to your videos ! But the biggest star is the place you live and the people , this place brings out the best in people ❤
One does not always realise the logistical nightmare that online shopping can present to you on Svalbard. Even getting it from the trailer to the cabin is a mission. Great work. I love the result and look forward to sharing it in the polar nights. I am glad to see that it has the approval of Grim!
Thank God you exist. I'm watching your videos as I recover from a long sickness and honestly I feel so much better just watching you guys. Keep up the good work. X
It's actually perfect that the carpet so closely matches the tones of everything else in the room. You can add any pops of accent color with other accessories that are easy to change from season to season. But the carpet which is more expensive can remain and ground the room. Just lovely. I adore your cabin and could totally live in it!
Don't know if this would work well but you could put some up some shelves for books close to the ceiling (so the shelf is in line with the top of the door frame) this way you have a pretty decent amount of shelving and it frees up that wall for prints/art/whatever else. AND you could add the lighting under the shelves to brighten it up if you wanted. I feel like it could be a cosy and practical option ✨
I had the very same rug and believe me after a few months it became clumpy and matted together, i just hope you can find a way to stop that from happening.
That new sofa looks so comfy!! Can't get over the cost of shipping but I can imagine how exciting it must be when the stuff finally gets there 🤣 love this cosy vlog!! Big love from Ireland xx

Your puppy dog loves his new carpet. What if you had a year round tree 🌲 in your home with pretty lights on it. You can enjoy the tree everyday since you can’t grow any trees on your property. 🌲🌳🐶💖❤️
Add color to the room by pillow covers. Also some nick nacks. This is easy and relatively inexpensive. Go vibrant. A little goes a wonderful long way! Maybe some day add curtains of color.
Aren’t they beautiful! Plus she has those long skinny fingers too! Yes, there is a small salon that a lady runs out of her home. Cecilia shows it in one of her videos.
Seeing the snow falling made my HEART SO HAPPY! I love winter, it's coming!! I'm so glad Grim made a connection with your new carpets, hahaha he's so funny! How do you like the sofa you have in the living room, I think you got that last year? Is it holding up well?
SAME! Love the early snow!! Grim thankfully loves the last carpet!! haha The IKEA one in the livingroom is Söderhamn and we love it! It looks the exact same and is suuuper easy to change cover on! Grim ruined the first one so fast, so we bought a new cover a few months ago :)
Such a beautiful transformation for your cabin. It definitely has become your cozy, peaceful home. I love how Grim enjoys the new carpet too. Such a character. ❤️❤️
Everything looks so cozy and nice! Watching from North Dakota, USA. We also have super cold, long winters and I’m trying to make my house as cozy as yours! Also, I feel the whole thing of having to replace your rugs every year. I have a dog and two cats and they RUIN ours!
I just found this channel…watching calming things makes my ❤happy! And the cabin/view/peacefulness is just absolutely beautiful and Grim is a beautiful doggie! Even my cat was looking at him enjoying the carpet! Anyway, I’m late to the comments, but I had too.
Really happy seeing you happy Cecilia, fun when things come together and it’s beautiful the way you both have decorated.. we all love the sharing you give us throughout the world on your journey.🎉❤
Well done, Cecilia, Michaela, Christoffer, Ikea Handyman and Grimm! Someone on Svalbard was very lucky to be able to buy your unwanted things. Looking forward to further developments on the interior design front. I'll be moving back to Texas soon, and making similar decisions. I'll definitely be consulting bffs on the interior decisions, and crafting my own candles, pillows and fine art, as you have your own photos, as well as doing my own re-upholstery. Just saw a headboard and bench set that grabbed my attention like no other. The journey has begun. lol
The carpets! The CARPETS! Fantastic choices! And the bathroom looks like a magazine cover! What a home you two have made for yourselves-thank you for sharing it!
As usual the views are breathtaking. It was interesting to learn about the shipping process there in Svalbard. It is similar to the topical islands shipping process as well. Anyways, I like the carpet in living room. Looks comfortable. Smart idea about the television stand. Space Is a key component to small living spaces. Patience is the key when living the island life.
Yes Cecilia, I am much further South than you, 55.75°N, it has gone from sun down at ~11 pm in May to sun down at 7:30 pm in the last of September. Winter is coming. Best wishes to all, from Canada.
So cool that you found the perfect fit carpet for your TV room right at the supermarket! And I love that it's a complex design that blends beautifully with the simple lines and colors in the rest of the room. And the living room carpet sounds divine, super soft and with an extra carpet under it. No wonder Grim loves it! Oooh, the snow! I've been putting up your daily daylength next to mine to see how it's changing. Today, Sept. 25th, we have the exact same daylength, although you have 3 hours more twilight than I do at 41 degrees north. But your light level is changing 13 minutes per day faster than mine. I saw that you were getting snow now, and tried to imagine how it looks. But seeing it here is much more beautiful than I imagined, especially the light shining through and on it. 💗 And the scene at 26:38 - breathtaking, especially with the geese flying through.
If it makes you feel better. We live in Ireland and there is an IKEA 1 hour drive from us. Yet if you order online it takes 2-3 weeks to ship, closer to the 3 week mark
I don’t know if you keep looking at this site? But if you do and you get your items from IKEA look at their Billy bookcases. I’m a book lover and reader with over 2000 books. Yea, I will admit it! When I was looking for book storage, someone suggested Billy bookcases. They are great! ❤I’ve had mine for nearly 12 years. They’re white with doors and added shelving. To this day, I still love them. Take a look, the cost is worth the price.
Pu kin you are doing so well! I would have pulled my hair out, but , truly, just objects of our lives - and the fact that Grim and Christopher love it is a job well done! ❤
Very nice!! It's same situation here, expensive and weight, size restrictions by float plane etc ,we used an Alaskan mill and built almost all our furniture by hand with leftover logs from our house or cabin whatever a log home is called . Its nothing fancy just rustic log furniture that was cheap and we didn't really have the extra cash also.🤠
The plush rug is absolutely going to be your wolf like doggo's (Grim) fur magnet. Do be prepared to be brushing the rug when you brush your doggo. Although, he seems smitten with the rug so that is a bonus.... 😸😸😸
What a great friend...anyone that helps you assemble furniture is amazing. My wife and I almost divorced after trying to assemble a desk...not really but maybe 🙂 .
I just came across your channel 2 days ago and I'm hooked! You guys are adorable, Grim is awesome, the scenery/photography/cinematography is gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing! 😃
I so understand the rug challenge. I’m a musician, and during the lockdowns, I needed a rug for a makeshift music room I had to set up. It took soooo long to find a good one. I dubbed it “the Saga of the Rug”. 😂
Lovely... ONE thing I will suggest and that its to move the firewood shelf away from the lovely fire place . its to close to the fire place . Looks lovely but to close to the fire . :) It would make me nervous specially since you mentioned that homes there can go on fire very quickly . Only a suggestion and not a criticism.
I would have hung up a retractable line that has rolling shower rings to clip bags on to roll down to the house so i would not have to carry groceries and possibly a crate to slide all together and you carry the line out when shopping and retract after groceries are in.
Christoffer is hilarious “I’ll carry the heavy things.” And Grim posing for you was so adorable! Since you’ve only had the cabin three years, I think you’ve made a lot of progress! Your home is beautiful!
So so cozy! I love the lights…Your view is absolutely magnificent! It’s so funny what creatures of habit we are…two sofas the same color😊 Your house looks like a retreat to me. I’d never want to leave. I watch your videos for the beautiful scenery but also for your enthusiasm Cecelia. If I’m feeling down watching your scenery videography ,listening to your happy interactions with Grim and Christoffer and the world around can lift my mood. The only thing that I might really dislike is how looong it takes and how much it costs to get things shipped to Svalbard!!😮
Hello Cecilia, I have been addicted to watching your channel since I discovered it a couple weeks ago. I have had a huge longing to see the north pole for years now and your videos stoke that flame while simultaneously giving me a feeling of experiencing your beautiful corner of the world. I live in Canada on the west coast, we get some snow in the winter but I am not far north enough for the northern lights. One day I hope to visit the north pole! Do you receive fan mail? And if so how do we send you something?
The cabin is looking so cozy and inviting, it’s definitely come a long way. The logistical problems and cost of shipping clearly force every decision to be that much more intentional too. I’m actually surprised there is not more custom created options available, Svalbard could use some wood workers and carpenters! I watch a lot of “tiny houses” videos and seen a lot of recommendations to utilize things meant to go in boats as options for well designed things meant to go in confined spaces. Also just had to say I loved the color on the new fluffy rug, what a cozy comfort to stand on something so plush during the long polar night. Clearly it’s your lovely dog’s bed, his place to be. Very important for any dog ♥️
I love how Cecilia never complains, even when she's lost her breath after carrying heavy things. Just exhale and said how beautiful the day was ❤....very positive in every situation.

I love this idea! I have so many plants in my boho apartment & I can't imagine living without them!! They really do breathe life into a space! 🌿🌱☘️
Excellent idea..I have tons of plants in my home..brings nature in.
Good idea for grow lights and plants.
even artificial plastic plants would bring some life ins this house. it looks sterile in parts. there is no green.

I agree! I learned that the hard way ( read:super expensive!)
Or flip it over so rugs are laying back to back.
Essentially you're using one carpet as a pad for the other. This is a good use for ugly carpets that make good padding.

Love the redecorating! And those cozy night scenes make me just want to curl up with a good book! Love your videos ❤️
Yes Cecilia, I am much further South than you, 55.75°N, it has gone from sun down at ~11 pm in May to sun down at 7:30 pm in the last of September. Winter is coming.
Best wishes to all, from Canada.
Your place looks great I like the idea of leaving your car up.the hill seems no big deal.So beautiful where you live..
So happy Grim loves the carpet.
Thank you for sharing your world and helping me to understand better by speaking in English. Again thank you
The sunset outside your cabin is magical.
Love, love, love the TV Room! So cozy. And Christofer did an amazing job with the carpet! 😊
If it makes you feel better. We live in Ireland and there is an IKEA 1 hour drive from us. Yet if you order online it takes 2-3 weeks to ship, closer to the 3 week mark
Bigger beige one is just perfect and practical.
Thanks Cecilia and Chris for a peek into life in Svalbard. The Dreamy nature scenery and whale songs got me totally hooked. Grimm is too cute.
Lol my back hurts now I'll be on the front porch having a coffee with Grimm taking in that beautiful scenerie I can't get anuff that.
I love how the new rug in your TV room warms up the space. Great choice! Grim is adorable. Glad he likes his new rugs!
YAY!!! It's a long one!!! Good morning everyone!!! ☀️💐🥰
Goood morning! :) I hope you enjoyed it! 🧡
I so look forward to the long ones!!!!
Morning! I love the long ones too!! 😊
@@hollylanevintagetreasures if it was a 24 hour channel, I would be delighted and never ever turn it off!!
Very nice!! It's same situation here, expensive and weight, size restrictions by float plane etc ,we used an Alaskan mill and built almost all our furniture by hand with leftover logs from our house or cabin whatever a log home is called . Its nothing fancy just rustic log furniture that was cheap and we didn't really have the extra cash also.🤠
Honrstly paying 1.6k for an ikea sofa is crazy to me.
@@beans_thecat Oh ya me too ! 🤯
The plush rug is absolutely going to be your wolf like doggo's (Grim) fur magnet. Do be prepared to be brushing the rug when you brush your doggo. Although, he seems smitten with the rug so that is a bonus.... 😸😸😸
Haha! Grim only really sheds in chunks! For some reason it doesn't stick to anything and just gathers in balls in corners! :)
What a great friend...anyone that helps you assemble furniture is amazing. My wife and I almost divorced after trying to assemble a desk...not really but maybe 🙂 .
OMG! Fenris in glasses ❤ and the HANDSOME Jopalarsson guy 😊 and the AMAZING new rug for Grimm! BEST video ever! 🎉🎉
I just came across your channel 2 days ago and I'm hooked! You guys are adorable, Grim is awesome, the scenery/photography/cinematography is gorgeous!
Thank you so much for sharing! 😃
Maybe think about wolfard oil candles.
Maybe a hydroponic growing system, so you can have veggies and herbs.
Love the carpet in both rooms. The colors are perfect. Well done and I also loved Grim's reaction to them.
I would pull the carpet out more. You don’t need so much under the couch. It is beautiful and matches perfectly!
We have three larger dogs..highly recommend ruggable. Also lightweight so you can probably have them shipped easily.
Timestamp 27:27, this is first time I see this kind of reaction from a dog, a mixture of calm, happy. It makes you feel peace to see it.
It looks beige it's just a cool tone I think (the carpet) it's really nice 👍 looks so perfectly soft
I would have hung up a retractable line that has rolling shower rings to clip bags on to roll down to the house so i would not have to carry groceries and possibly a crate to slide all together and you carry the line out when shopping and retract after groceries are in.
Look up some posts on styling small book cases. Might have some workable ideas!
Great idea!!
