Thank you for this video. If I may, i have a superteacher question, what if the second verse needs a little extra note? I usually have seen them at a small size usually to address an extra syllable. The eventual slurs for the extra verses are dotted, I think.
I've never personally done that before, but here's what I'd think should work: 1) Create the extra note either normally or in a second layer (depending on how it's rhythmically displayed) 2) Make it smaller using Plug-ins > Notes, Beams, and Rest Editing > Resize Noteheads… 3) For the first verse's lyrics, just skip over that note. Finale will probably generate an underscore to signal to continue singing the last syllable 4) For the dotted slur, you'll need Finale v26. It's one of the smartshapes. Hopefully that helps.
If a song has a refrain (chorus) how do you break up the verses and refrain without getting the super long line under the refrain section after verse 2, 3, etc?
