@@jppenandink if my recollection of my high-school German serves me correctly, I believe “Lamy” may be German for “uncooperative”… but I cannot be sure. Besides, I’m not speaking of such things!! 😬. Thanks, and have a great week too.
lovely ink and pen combos. i adore your leonardo…i’m so glad you were able to find the perfect resin. the addition of the vanishing point is such a mom thing to do. lol. i’m thankful for your friendship because i have no one in my life that understands the wonderful experience of fountain pens and ink and stationary and all the things that go along with those things. thanks for sharing your currently inked Jayne. it’s always a treat to see your monthly videos! happy easter. 😊❤
Great video! I see at least one comment here already re the shimmer ink in Lamy pen (apologies, I did not read through all of the comments). Just wanted to add, that I think it is primarily Lamy pens in general that are the problem. I have tried all sizes of nibs (even the Lamy gold nib!) with various inks -shimmer, non-shimmer,etc) on a variety of papers always with the same result that you had. I would prime the feed only to find the same response from the pen and then was extremely difficult to clean the feed, so much so that a few of y ink samples got saturated from ink that I didn’t realize was still in the Lamy feed. I was so disappointed that I threw out all of my Lamy stuff. Currently have Wearingeul Romeo ( dark grey ink with purple shimmer ) in a TWSNI Eco F nib and (tough wood!) so far loving it! I agree with the previous comment that you should give the shimmer ink a try in a TWSBI (the ECOs seem to work best for me with shimmer inks0. Hope it works out!
Hi there, thank you for your comment. Yes I won’t be putting this ink in a Lamy again. I do usually use my Twsbi’s for shimmer inks, but have used Diamine shimmer inks in Lamy’s with no problem before, so I was so disappointed that this one did not perform well in it. It’s such a pretty ink too. Oh well, you live and learn eh 😂 Thank you so much for watching. I hope you have a great week 😊
I am happy that I ran across you! I love your pacing in your videos. I also have the same issues with shimmer inks in my Lamy Safari. I keep my sparkle ink to TWSBI 580s ❤
Hi there, thank you so much for watching! Yes I think I’ll just use the shimmer inks in my Twsbi’s from now on. I have had a shimmer ink in this Lamy broad nib before but it was a Diamine shimmer ink and had no troubles. Oh well, you live and learn eh 😂 Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend 😊
I enjoy seeing all the ink colours (and the pens) you have. I’m trying to decide on ink colours to purchase. Thank you for filming these videos. I like quite a number of these inks, especially grey seas, green at night, copper and Barossa grape. Hope your family had a wonderful Easter 🤍✨🌿
Hi Julia, they are all lovely inks. Desk Bandit and Pulp Addiction generally have samples of these inks to try. The only one I have a bottle of is the Grey Seas and must admit it’s fast becoming a favourite! I’m glad you are getting ideas from the videos too. Thank you for your kind words, we had a lovely Easter long weekend, lots of fresh air 😍 Take care and have a wonderful week 😊
@@jppenandink Hello Jayne, They are! Last week I looked at both those websites and added items to my wish list. Grey Seas looks very pretty. Looking at the colours of the inks in your videos is more true to life than a picture on a website… very hard to tell sometimes. You’re welcome, so good to hear, it does sound wonderful. We got lots of fresh air at Tallebudgera beach where we stayed with friends for Easter weekend. Thank you, wish you a great week ahead. Can’t believe we’re in April already ♥️✨
Hi Jayne, I haven't had much luck with shimmer inks in my Lamy pens, except Robert Oster 'Terra Australis" . All the Twsbi pens have a really broad feed channel and of course you can remove it, and syringe any sample into any pen. I am no longer putting any shimmer inks into my Lamys, it's just too easy to clog up the feed. The ink you used looked a bit dry too, but really one worth persevering with in another 🖊 pen. Hope you will🤞. Have a lovely Easter 🐣 my friend🪺🐇🌷
Hi lovely, yes very disappointed that the Lamy broad just didn’t handle the shimmer. I even waited for the shimmer to settle a bit before inking it up. Will try it another time in a Twsbi broad. Thank you so much for watching. Have a wonderful Easter weekend 😊
I agree with Tanja, one bad experience with shimmer in a Lamy Safari and now I pick other pens, usually the shimmers go in the TWSBIs, but also in most Pelikans and as you saw in the last video in the Platinum 3776 as well as the Lamy 2000 with the OBB nib. Don’t give up on shimmer inks! Sorry you had a hard time choosing inks, weird how that happens… have a great Easter weekend! 🌼💕
I can't wait to hear how you get on with only 10 pens! I hope you find a pen to work with your shimmer. I struggle with shimmer as well. I'll be inking a shimmer this month, but I think it will be in a TWSBI.
Yes definitely the wrong pen for the shimmer ink. Will try it in a different pen next time. Only having 10 pens inked feels so foreign to me 😂 Have a wonderful weekend Shauna 😊
Ok that’s Interesting to know. My Jinhao 100 handles shimmer inks and so do the Twsbi’s. Very disappointed that the Lamy broad nib didn’t work for me. Thank you so much for watching and have a great weekend 😊
A nice lineup this month. You certainly have a nice collection of inks and samples. I have the same issue with shimmer inks. Others don't seem to. I'll be interested in how they perform for you.
Hi Ray, thank you, I feel very fortunate to have the pens that I do have. As for the shimmer ink, I won’t be putting it in a Lamy again, however I have had some success with Diamine Shimmertastic inks in Lamy’s…go figure 🤷♀️
I’ve heard that some shimmer inks can be problematic in a Lamy as others here have mentioned. What a shame as it looks like a very pretty ink. Otherwise you have a very nice selection for April, and a much more reasonable number than last month! 😀
Hi Susan, thank you, yes I think I will try the ink in another pen next time. Only having 10 inked up though feels so foreign to me 😂 I hope you have a wonderful weekend 😊
Like others I use my shimmer inks in my twsbis and Kaweco m nibs. I’ve only had a problem with one ink in my iridescent Kaweco, otherwise they have all been good.
Thank you for watching and for your comment. I have used Diamine Shimmertastic inks with success in Lamy’s before. Next time I will try the ink in my Twsbi…I still have a little bit left. Have a wonderful week 😊
was it you that I told about the Lamy trick about pulling out the middle bit of the feed anyway you can separate the feed parts by taking the feed out taking the nib off and pushing your fingernail from just where the nib meets the plastic and gentlly pushing it toward where the converter and a piece from the middle should come loose dont loose that middle bit but let me tell ya it works amazing for shimmer inks :) hope that helps
Hi Yureli, yes those shimmer inks are so pretty but can be tricky depending on what pen you put them in. Have you got a Twsbi with a broad or stub nib? They tend to handle shimmer inks pretty well. That’s what I’ll be doing next time 😊
@@yureliplans oh that is disappointing. Maybe wait till some of the shimmer settles in the bottle before inking up the pen. I have had some success with this before. Goodluck lovely 😊
Beautiful pairings!! Wide range of colors, really liked that brownish with shimmer. Congrats to the winners! (oh and god bless you haha, that caught me off guard with my headphones on xD)
Hi Lionheart, so sorry about that, hope I didn’t deafen you! Thank you so much for watching. Yes the Diamine Shimmertastic “Cocoa Shimmer” is a beauty. Have a wonderful weekend 😊
Hi Kan-zee I think it’s both the pen and the ink. I have had success with Diamine shimmer inks in Lamy’s but I think the Robert Oster shimmer inks have more particles in them? Luckily I still have some of this ink left so I’ll try it in a Twsbi and see how it goes. Thank you so much for watching and have a great week 😊
