Wow.. excellent video! Being a Lefty, in a right-handed world, we learn to adjust without complaint. I would have thought to ask about this eventually but you beat me to it. Thank you recognizing us lefties :)
Not a bad video, right up until we reached the point where I realized that you didn’t mention Benchmade and the Axis lock. Also, not mentioning that there are knife companies that have released left handed frame locks, like We, Kizer, Bestech, & DPX.
I don’t make a habit of recommending items I haven’t used enough. I did review a Benchmade 940 just recently and it is another good, ambidextrous design. Looks like I’ll need a “More Good Lefty Knives” video now. Also, left-handed versions of liner/frame locks seem odd to me when other lock designs can be used equally in either hand. But that’s a personal opinion 🤷🏽♂️ subject to change with more experience
I carry my knives pretty oddly I suppose. I am right handed. I carry on my left side with the clip for right handed carry. Makes no sense but my phone is on my right side so I feel weird if I switch it. I do fidget with my knives with my left hand a lot as well as my right though. Rarely use left handed though. Great video and examples.
That’s unusual haha. I have my phone in my left pocket, specifically so I can keep a knife in the right pocket. I fidget with both hands which is probably odd
As a lefty i appreciate your (injury induced) empathy towards us freaks of nature:) My first Multitool with pliers was a charge tti and i always had to fumble my way around the liner lock and opening the blades owkwardly with the middlefinger (spyderflick like) and finish with the thumb, very slow and clunky motion. Switched to a Swisstool x after that, mostly because of german knife laws (onehanded opening, locking blade is not street legal) and it was much better (in every aspect, not only lefthand related blade opening hehe) Long story short: this design of oho is very inconsiderate of the roughly 10% people and i really dont like it. What works nice is a spyderco endura 4 with backlock or a ganzo g727m, a cheap chinese knockoff mix between a rat folder blade with axis lock, i love that thing. thanks for the video man:)
Thanks for adding to this topic! I didn’t know any Leatherman blade could be flicked open… I’ll have to try it sometime. There’s a lot of good ambidextrous lock mechanisms out there and I’m surprised when companies seem to ignore them. It makes sense from a cost perspective that you cater to 90% of your customers’ handedness… but with other options why not go 100? Honestly, Leatherman’s magnetic style tools are easily the best dual-handed design, plus there’s no need for fingernails… if only they would use it for something other than full sets of flathead drivers 😂
Idk you'll have to ask. I'm right handed but keep my phone in my left pocket so... anything is possible. I try not to assume my experiences and preferences are universal

Absolutely! I get tired of inconsiderate design, so I thought this discussion was important
As a lefty, I carry axis type locks, button, locks, and autos. But I collect and use right hand style lock knives.
Thanks for your input 👍 I’m always wondering what lefties are up to in the knife community
Axis locks from benchmade are some of the best ambi locks
Very true. I don’t own a Benchmade though 😅 so it couldn’t be included this time
My go to pocket knife is the Benchmade Barrage. I love it as a lefty.
I find thar axis locks are the easiest left Kara is ambidextrous but shes left handed 👍
I agree with the axis lock as ambidextrous. I just don’t own a Benchmade at the moment 😅

I wish more righties could walk a mile or two in our shoes! Thanks for taking the time to make this video even though you aren't a southpaw
When I had my right hand bandaged up for a month I got a crash course in being a lefty so I thought I’d share some experience 😁 glad you appreciate it

*I think a mirror image of all folding knives should be made that way everyone is satisfied!* #BigMacSam
It would be nice if there were more models like that. Lefty PM2 Knives are a thing... why not more?
lmaoo yes
Kind of messed me up a little. Do left handed people carry cellphones in their left pocket? Does the wallet go in the back left?
Idk you'll have to ask. I'm right handed but keep my phone in my left pocket so... anything is possible. I try not to assume my experiences and preferences are universal
cold steel all the way
Hard to beat a lockback spine knife for toughness!
