REVIEW: Sumatra 2500 Air Rifle - Wild West PCP Air Gun - This PCP air rifle has won my heart, devastating good looks and accuracy make this an explosive air gun. In the style of a six shot repeater wild west style rifle, this sure is a break from the norm, and I love it. Tested out to 50 yards, in sub 12ft Lb, this air rifle is available in high power and low power, and if your laws allow its adjustable.
Thank you to AC Guns for letting my test and review this rifle.
This video contains a review of a pellet / BB rifle. Its powered entirely by spring actioned compressed air and uses no gunpowder and must not be confused with any form of tactical firearm. My Targets are paper and tins.
Always shoot safely and show consideration to others around you, this review is designed entirely as an independent review.

I have researched and done my homework as best as I can, their are slight differences between the UK and USA Spec models of this gun. Either way it should all still shoot as awesome as the one I have here on test.
Thanks For Watching.

I feel the same way, I love air guns. I just got my Sumatra. Will take it out this weekend. Thanks for all your really informative and entertaining air gun videos.
Been waiting for at least 7 years to see this rifle in the flesh and see it being used . Your purchase links are long gone. But I know where to get them. Thanks to you I know the rifle is well worth while now.
I'm subbed, have been for a while now, thanks for taking the time out to make the videos and please keep them coming,I saw one of them a few months back in the dive shop when getting my tank refilled and think it's cool ! Glad to see it shoot finally
Giles another great review thank you love all your videos from the very first keep them coming
many thanks Keith
Great review glad to see you putting them up again, was missing them
Good review. I have seen enough of your videos that I really enjoyed so you sir have earned a sub from me. Good work
I absolutely love my Sumatra 2500 in 25 Cal. I've owned so many rifles, but I just keep grabbing this when it counts, it's super powerful, accurate, and god forgive me, I love the looks.
Excellent presentation in your usual cheeky and self deprecating style. Informative and fun. The rifle looks like a charmer and performs like a good ‘un. Thank you for brightening my evening.
I have the Stinger in 177 had it for 4 months and can tell you all I take out Rats at 50 yards which is better than almost evey other rifle I have and they are some pretty expensive bits of kit aswell. You may all think it looks Kiddy but once you hold one and shot it you will go and spend your hard earned cash. Nice review Giles.
.177 hornets for vermin. hobby for targets, the stinger is the latest of 12 rifles 2 FAC. i like it \(^-^)/
Very well put together mate! I have this and wanted to check if I am missing anything at all as I am essentially a competitive air pistol shooter. Very crisp informative video and yes I am from India and I love your accent 😊 Keep the videos coming in mate!
I really enjoy your air gun content. If I could only watch on air gun channel it would be yours. Thanks for all the quality information and making fun Giles!
Great channel, great information ! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Regards from USA, Georgia, Jimp
may i add to your great review by saying as confirmed by Ray @ AC guns and previously mentioned by the690r the cartridge is best loaded from the front skirt first. thank you
I can never pass on a earlier Career 707 when they turn up. Just customising an FAC carbine atm Giles. Great review, as always Sir.
Been waiting for at least 7 years to see this rifle in the flash and see it being used . Your purchase links are long gone. But I know where to get them. Thanks to you I know the rifle is well worth while now.
Great rifle, great vid, thumbs up and thanks Giles
Great and useful review... I want one!
Giles;;
I purchased my Sumatra 2500 in 25cal a year ago... has to be one of my favorite guns... Mine is the US version with over 74 FPE with the Korean pellets... Super accurate at 50 yards. Sounds like a 22LR on high pressure, but on low pressure pretty quiet... get about 15 good shots on high, about 50 - 60 on low power.... I just love this gun , glad you did a review on it so others can see how it preforms and how great it is and cheap.. I paid 649.00 for mine..
It WAS cheap when it was 399.
Man I'm glad I live where I can have a real gun nice video
Airgun is a real gun. It's just different from the firearm. In my country (Poland) you can't have firearm without license, but you can have aiguns. But if it's more powerfull than 17J then you have to register it and you can shoot only on shooting range.
Very good review!
I enjoy the new format, and you've got me interested in this air rifle.
It was because of you, ted and the other quality channels on youtube, i started air rifling in the first place.
having a bought a quality FX air rifle, which im enjoying immensly, and afterwards purchasing an air pistol, im now looking into getting a quality springer, but then you come along with this quality review and now im torn between giving this a try or a diana 54/56.
Great product love it
Good job on the review I'm in late on this one going through catching up on my subscriptions.
You are supposed to load the magazine shirt first from the front of the magazine. It cycles very smoothly. I have 3 Sumatras, the 25 cal gets over 80 foot pounds of energy.
Thanks Giles, waited long enough for this latest review though. Where's the Walther LGU review, or the full length S200 one I've been waiting on? (I may be a bit biased with these 2!)
Cheers mate, love these reviews.
1066wastrel LGU is out of the box and being filmed....soon....soon....Thanks for watching. Giles
It looks to me...Sumatra Carbine.Correct me if am wrong mate.I have a ,25 but looks longer than this picture of yours.Nice review. And it is heavyweight.I only use for target practice with bench rest.Love mine too.
great review!
You've come pretty far; this review is quality.

Great test-
muy bonito rifle y muy buena explicacion
Very good
Another excellent video - great to see such a good variety of rifles
I love mine, .25 cal with metal not plastic magazine. I also shoot 48 gn hallow points, not pellets. It will sink a hole into 3/16 aluminum diamond plate at 55 yards, with open sights, they really do work well. On note, mine did have a bunch of barrel droop and had to get a special droop compensator mount for it. It has a scope on it now, it can be taken off in a flash to use the open sights. I have glasses, so scopes, spotting scopes, bino's are a pain in the ass at times.

Evening Buzz Thanks for watching. Giles
Very nice shoot
ive got one its fire 75 joules with jins eu43,2 grsins in 22 and 110 joules in 25 (500cc)
James.. I like the gun and like the gun I like the music too !!!!!!!!!
Have it now for half a year and it is tremendous! Shoot everything - if you can find the right setting - and with a modificated Huma-air silencer, I don't even wake up the neighbours anymore! Wonder if it could be made regulated.
It looks a nice rifle and I like the fact that it's left handed and right handed rifle I am left handed shooter
Very good Thanks
Cool channel mate
found one at last @ Cardigan sports. in Wales. now the biggest pain is the Magazine, walking around with spare mag in your pocket/tin/leather purse etc etc. the pellets always fall out. I have tried all sorts of bottle tops that fit to no avail. we need a plug for both ends of the mag. any Ideas Giles...............cheers Briddy.
i love these posh nosh quality reviews
Cheers for the review. Purchased the 500 version yesterday. Instructions seen to indicate that the metal magazine needs to be loaded from the front skirt first. Also the power adjustment wheel has 3 different coloured dots matching up to the red, green and black dots on the frame and is a little confusing, do I match the black dot on the wheel with the black dot on the frame ?
Is if safe to store with over 80 psi still in it ?
maaaaan you are the best
"Balls if you're thinking of anything else, you've got a dirty mind." 😂 this guy is funny
as funny as Altziemers.
i like it great video
Very nice it looks like my career MK2 but way better with the mag and air fill dial on the bottom mine can empty the can quick if it's full blast
What price do they reckomend the retail for??
my old career was set for 30 45 and 80ft lbs downside taking a pump in your rucksack for a days shooting i prefared my old webley patriot
it is a very good review. hope to have that one..
dear santa,
can you grant my wish to have this Sumatra 2500 this christmas.. :)
best review on this topic all the time
hi ive seen this rifle used as an air shotgun in a bigger calibre, taking one shell at a time .
Hai, Have you already tried the Huben K1 ?would love to hear your reaction on it
also that looks very simular to the career 707 is there any difference or is it just a different marketing name
what scope is that? Great Video.:)
love your vids ,see people leaveing comments but NO replies grom you ??? luv to own the samatra 2500, how much does one cost and were can i purchase one??chjeers
any chance of AirArms Tx200 review?
Nice
if you have any idea about that please elaborate thank you
Can you make a video with the Hatsan 150 TH, it's nitro piston?
This is a very good rifle, but limited to 12ft/lb it's like a super model dressed like an old lady.Happy to see your tubes again
andres bula Would love to shoot it on higher power, by all reports it is even more impressive, but I have the sub 12 to test, and thats it. Thanks for watching Mr Bula. Giles
I like it nice
AirgunGearShow good afternoon, tell me one thing: what is the autonomy of this sumatra, by cilidro? At low, high power, or only per cylinder. thank you waiting for a reply.
ok, just one question. I've been watching many many of these videos, and almost every one that Giles has made. When firing the weapon for groups, why dont any one ever adjust the sites and gun to hit dead center? They aim dead center, but the shot is almost always off center, so they stay there? When I was trained in the Army you adjusted the sites, up, down, so on on to get a dead center grouping. Granted wind and weather make a difference, but you never see airgun shooters do this. Isnt the point of having sites and such that are adjustable to actually adjust them?
Of course you can adjust sights in airguns, but there's no point to do that for review. Size of the group is essential to see how precise the gun is.
Do they do a bigger pellet calibre for this type, I know they do the single shot ones but ones like this?
where did you buy it from ?
I am looking for the entire brass pressure gauge cylinder for a Shin Sung Career 707 II air rifle
Hi there ,you must get a role in peaky blinders series .
you cannot adjust the power in the United Kingdom can you change it when you leave the country or is it stuck at that
megusta este rrifle
Review the gamo coyote
My sumatra en Mexico shot with 1120 FPS with 31 grains, almost like 22 short :)
Thats way more power than a .22 short. A .22 short moves between 900 and 1000 fps depending on the barrel its coming out of
Plus if it's .25 cal it's more powerful. For example is an air gun shoots a .357 at 130 fpe. Now a .22 longrifle bullet will give around 120 fpe. This doesn't mean just because there fpe are close that they give the same damage, this doesn't mean the .357 is as powerful as a .22 remember .357 is much much larger in diamenter. Even though similar fpe the .357 is deadlier. These sumatra are shooting almost as fast as a real .22 but with a larger round
@@mrsandman5436 lol, even if you are right, which you arent, then wow your shitty airgun is almost as powerful as one of the weakest cartridges out there. impressive
i had the career 22 good gun but at full power less than 20 shots no good for walking over fields for the day unless you carry a pump in your rucksack
how would you say this compares to a mk2 BSA r10?
Helped a lot thanks
Feels like there hasn't been a video in ages
lewis dobson Loads more to come Lewis....new stuff too. Thanks for watching. Giles
+AirgunGearShow would like to see ya do vid on parkerhale phoenix great vid as per giles but no shot count or weight included cheers mate
indo yes
Mantap
2 different magazines?? a video from Pyramide Air shows a metal magazine which being loaded tipp backwards.
Nice review but not my choice of air rifle.
Don't suppose you have one of the Walther RX8 in the pipeline..?
fedaykeen Yes, have been filming and shooting it today. Inbound soon. Thanks for watching. Giles
Where can I buy one??? Apart from setting up an importing company and bring them into the UK myself, there doesn't seem to be anywhere in the UK selling this rifle. I WANT ONE!!!
Bought my 1st Air rifle around 1969, a BSA Air sporter "One of the 1st under lever air rifles" It got stolen! 45 yrs later I stumble on "Air gun Gear Show" My childhood enthusiasm re-ignited. MUST get one! Two hurdles to jump, 1st, the wife's not really that keen on guns, of any sort! However hat can be rectified, by telling her i still love her after 40yrs! Secondly, I'm currently renovating my home. So any spare cash should really be spent on materials!!!... Ain't life a bitch sometimes!

i have to ask, can you get more mags?...i have a habit of taking forever to get cozy....then not wanting to move once i have

Looks like the maker is claiming 950 fps firing a 28 gr pellet on the maximum power setting. What velocity can be expected from the British version that's locked on the medium setting?
It can't be much more power, since the UK Laws really Suck! concerning even air rifles.
What is the difference between sumatra 2500 vs sumatra 2500 500cc reservoir?
Is there a method to pump up the air chambers without a tank ?
Yaaaaay finally. Sumatra got viewed, but made in Korea? 🤔
It's an innovative design, surely the stock is so large, perhaps it needs a reservoir built in there.
Imagine having a large gas container in there with a tube leading up to the firing mechanism. The home made US airguns seem to do this. PCP is the way to go.
+Myles Nicholas parkerhale phoenix has bottle in stock and is gawjus to look at and shoot
can this be bought in the uk without a firearms certification?
A 28 gr projectile with a muzzle velocity of 950 fps would produce approximately 56 foot pounds of energy at the muzzle. Assuming you're using 28 gr pellets "sub 12ft Lb" (at 50 yards?) must be somewhere in the neighborhood of 450 fps at the muzzle?
If that's true, I really feel bad for our friends in the UK. They're treating you like children if your limited to such low muzzle velocities.
Is there also a limit on muzzle energy? Or could you legally fire a 500 gr projectile at 450 fps producing close to 225 ft lbs of muzzle energy?
Sorry for asking so many questions. Here in the USA these type of things are pretty much unregulated.
John Ratko 12ft/lb is ur lot with any weight pellet. If its over its aa firearm and it there is a silencer ur in more shit.
I think they were smart enough to go by energy and not speed. You said they are being treated like children, but my parents let me buy a 20 gauge shotgun for small game hunting when I was 12 years old, (Had to take a hunters safety course, good idea for a new hunter). But it is actually worse than that. It is basically disarmament of their citizens under the guise that the citizens are potential murderers. Treated like children, and potential criminals. When it is the proper role of law to protect liberty, (not dissolve it, which is tyranny), who is the criminal here?
This gun is a very versatile mid and big game hunting gun in .50 cal., and even shoots a bolt, (a bit different of a end than a cross bow's, but a tad faster and at least as accurate).
Hey you guys, whats the shooting statics for the USA this year alone so far ? , well we done have very many here there are always some criminals shooting anyone but School/college/workplace/ shopping area killings by guns doesnt really happen as when it does its reported everywhere Radio,tv,newspapers emails facebook texts almost everyone in the uk knows before the end of the incident, we can go about our daily lives un armed and normally return home safely ..... treated like children if you cant go out without carrying is it really a freedom thing ?
BloodnGutz43 yes, all humans should be born with an inane right to defend themselves... As for our safety, we now have more knife and gun murders and incidents in London than in New York? So, basically in this county I’d someone had a know and wants to take your life, then say hello to your maker. Wives and partners traveling home on a winters night, taking the tube or walking home... Raped and murdered unnecessarily because they can’t even carry pepper spray..... Sorry, if that’s progress you’re living in dreamland.....
Tell that to the hundreds murdered, raped and abducted... All because the police, government and the left have got their way... Helpless sheep, easy to push around, heavily tax and fine... Yeah, progress.... Or capitulation....
The elderly are referred to as mugs in the U.K., easy targets.. Criminals, numerous burglaries before a custodial sentence is even considered... Progress! 🤔
@@alexandersimpson3638 Not sure what shit hole you live in pal but it's not the UK.
And a flash dresser!
Nice gun, but out of interest - what's the music behind the film?
I have the long gun version. It has to be one of the best airguns ever made. It is the hammer of .22 air rifles. I highly recommend it!
I have this in FAC it's a great riffle. But pretty sure your loading it wrong. I and every other video I've seen you load the skirt first from the clear end, not pushing them in from the back.
can also a silencer be adapted ?
yeah
Why not put an aftermarket dovetail open sight?
Hi, what is the thread size on the end of the barrel?
how do you load the air
