JRL is still considered a LRT even though it may be given a MRT label. The alignment of the network itself and the proposed service patterns all are LRT-like, even down to the rolling stock. It is considered a light metro at best. Whereas BPLRT and SPLRT which we call "LRTs" are actually APMs. These act as feeder services to the towns they are serving.
@@ltankk the new line of that connect JB to Woodlands (that the Malaysian called it an LRT) would be similar in rolling stock width (2.65-2.75m, also applies to the ones in KL like KJ and SP lines) to the Jurong Line. Meanwhile, the MRT lines in KL has a similar rolling stock width to the rolling stock of the other SIngapore MRT lines (3.1-3.2 m) At least it is not as bad as Manila, since the nomenclature is actually based on the operator, you would see MRT trains called as LRTs and vice versa.
I think JRL should be underground since it would technically be easier to build and prevent the problem of what BPLRT has of being too close to HDB Flats.
I don't get why this wasn't built as just an LRT line or even a Tramway or Bus Rapid Transit network. would have made more sense for the layout of multiple branches and would have allowed more flexibility, especially if it was BRT, because local bus routes would also be able to use it. LRT would have been better suited for Bahar Junction arrangement, but then again, a Tram would of carried more people than an LRT vehicle and wouldn't suck as much.
I have an suggestion. We should connect or the lrt together. Bp lrt, Ptc lrt, stc lrt, Singapore malaysia lrt, skytrain at Changi Airport aand sentosa morral wheel with a lrt or three lrt.
Guys what he means by tharman is going to be president is singapore news says that tharman will be voted for president as he had contributed alot to singapore TO LETS WELCOME THARMAN TO BE ANOTHER PRESIDENT OF SINGAPORE AND also i really thought the JRL TRAIN would be a lrt:(

BTW nive video. Im surprised that your now uploading videos regularly
Glad to see the "The forgotten plans of the -" series revive! Do one about the original plans of the DTL.

if the BPLRT and SPLRT are APMs, is skytrain counted as LRT?
@@coolman444 Skytrain is also APM.
lta mislabelling moment

What's SPL
If the JRL was actually LRT, It Would Be Named “Jurong Region LRT”
yah but it didnt happened
Jrl currently built to Malaysia LRT specification
The routing for the JRL was different also, boon lay was the centre of the 3 branch on the southern and western branch
I still think it is a bad idea to build an mrt line that only connects with existing lines. A few years down the road the EWL will be over capacity 💀
They should create a DTL branch from Beauty World to Tengah/NTU via Bukit Batok.
Yes, DTL three cars train is not much, but it’s better than nothing.
Good thing it isn't an LRT, god, holy fuck, those things stink and get way too crowded. Only took Singapore a few decades to learn that, the hard way!
Some JRL Station will connecting with the HSR
So happy they are building JR Line in Singapore, hope to use my SUICA card soon.

both too but like it should be togther. elevatedstn1, understn2. it shouldnt change all the time like ewl only one part should be one like that.
You should have your 4th lrt line video! I watch the video, but then only 3 lrt lines operated in Singapore!
smrt: CR151 will operate on JRL
R151: alright
smrt: no not R151 i said CR151
R151: eh? nani?
me: *brain overload*

Yeah I know that. That was in the 2001 concept but there were no plans for it. In the LTA 2013 Masterplan It is announced as an MRT Line.
how u know
@@coolman444it's JRL
@@AxelRaffasya i litrally donr get it
I read the article in Sgtrains website.
@@mightyrainbow1003 what a spoiler bro
add one more station to connect with Downtown Line (1 station terminus after Choa Chu Kang)
i legit thought jrl is an lrt line
same but still the same
I thought too but lta announced to be mrt instead
Technically, it is an LRT, it is just that "LRT" in Singapore refers to APMs, which is misleading
Lrt is now planned mrt for Jurong region line and Punggol north that he talk about before
he didn't include the Punggol North in the video
@@coolman444 I said last time video
Go find yourself if haven’t see the video
@@AxelRaffasya what r u talking about?
I cant wait to check it out at the age of 12 :)
youre 9?
1:37 wheres the sengkang punggol lrt line
well since the this was planned between 1996-2001, he never include SPLRT since they are opened from 2003/2005
Bishan-Tanjong Katong LRT
We are still waiting for the West Coast Extension to be finalised
That would be the extension connecting to Haw Par Villa station as the interchange?
Should change punggol lrt to mrt too.
I think LRTs shouldn’t take over the JRL since the line is so long and LRTs are not capable of traveling long distances all at once
oh really? they dont have use fuel though...

Jrl should not be the 2nd lrt line since the BPlrt!
That should be newest lrt.
Looks like Westwood lrt.
What?!? A VAL?!?
Cross island line and seletar line should also be lrt
I actually belived that theres a line called Jurong LRT from a furure mrt map on google, turns out its fake
you could at least show the lrt routing based on the old concept plan and master plan even if they are not 100% accurate
Buona Vista LRT
Yishun LRT
Do Malaysia's
they learned from their mistakes...
*cue SPLRT/BPLRT*
but, the plan was in 1996. thats way before pblrt and Sengkang/Punggol lrt even exist
Ask KBW, he said something about the LRT
whos KBW?
@@coolman444 khaw boon wan
No. Sorry. Jrl and cross island line should be mrt then the newest lrt
Bedok LRT
Ok so last friday, 2nd June 2023, I successfully took a refurbished C751A for the first time.
