If a band or artist never took any particular stance against advertising or making money, then they're not a "sellout" for doing so. They come with the preconceived notion that everyone in show business acts in a certain way or does certain things for the purpose of getting attention or gaining a following (thus making money). GG Allin was one of those extremely rare mistakes that did whatever the fuck he wanted because that is what he felt like doing at that time. He was a glitch in the system.
