"Will not accept your trade. The salary cap-...I SAID, NIGGA I WANT KEVIN GARNETT TO PLAY WITH LEBRON JAMES!" lolololololololol Patrice's radio conversations give me life I swear. One of the only celebrities I can relate to to a T!
This segment in particular really makes me miss him. Probably because I'm a gamer, hearing another gamer break down what had changed about gaming. He picks up on things you wouldn't even think about. The whole "Push the stop being nervous button" and him describing about the "implied grenade" indicator kills me.
patrice was absolutely the greatest smart lunatic ever!! absolutely the best guest/guest host ever. i’ve listened to patrice rants 5-10 times minimum and EVERY time i find something hysterical i missed before. RIP big man.
"Boys, I'm gon be teaching you something you really gonna need to know out here on the battlefield. Triangle, x, x, square, x, triangle, x, square, square, square, square, triangle. This will get you through this battle"
I remember playing tomb raider for the first time and I saved while I was on fire and everytime I would restart I would be on fire and die immediately, and it would always respawn from your last save so I had to restart the whole game. Being able to save whenever you want isn't always a blessing, take note kids.
cflores1889 It could be worse...the first Tomb Raider has those goddamn blue save crystals that were ALWAYS too few and far between. Think you've made good progress and are about to reach a checkpoint. Here, just fight this fucking fireball-spewing centaur first.
Listening to Patrice describe the game...is like not only free promo but it's like a young guy explaining to his dad about Halo or Destiny..it's just so funny and honest....damn I miss this guy....and Malcolm X.....
Thank you for reminding me of that! I just wish he had a chance to voice a full blown character that was around for more than just 10 minutes of sound bites.
I love that Anthony knows Half-Life and Deus Ex! I actually find some of the older shooter games are much scarier than the newer generic shooters like Call of Duty. The older ones often gave you very little instructions on what to do, so you had to nervously figure shit out on your own. They also gave a sense of being alone and helpless (since there weren't many NPCs) and the early graphics meant they had to use jarring sounds and a creepy story line to scare you instead of just effects.
Holy shit I remember getting a shock from that part when the evil dog jumped through the window too... from one of the early Resident Evil games, back when they were good.
I was way too young to play medal of honor when it came out, but that didn't stop me from sneaking on it. I remember after the dday mission I had to go find my dad I was so distraught. Then we started playing the wars games together because he saw I took a real interest in it, still shook me up at times lol
Mars Junior Shooters didnt fuck me up as a kid too bad. If you start off with no blood, its easier to be able to upgrade to more violent ones as you go. Timesplitters 1 is the first shooter i got as a kid. It wasnt too violent so I enjoyed the shit out of shooters. Doom 3 fucked me up so bad though. My grandma would always take me and my sister to blockbuster, i grabbed doom and she really wasnt having it, but i was so persistent, because i played resurrection of evil at my cousins. I put in cheats and got to the hell levels. seeing a fucking torso connected to chains twitching really fucked my shit up. The second day of rental I came home after school, and started crying when i was eating a sandwich because i couldnt stop thinking about the stupid gore all over the place lol. She was so mad at me for doing that to myself hahahaha. I cant imagine the headaches parents were having when the new doom came out. The new one would give you fucken ptsd lmao. wearing the headset and playing in the dark will really set the mood too. That and playing at 3 in the fucking morning. Dont know why I bothered sharing, thought itd give a good read aha.
My dad passed away in 2019, but the D-Day level from MoH Allied Assault was a very valuable and memorable moment for me and him. He would bring it up relatively often.
The most "frightening" game is when you are always low on ammo, your character can be killed easily, and you are actually afraid to progress. RESIDENT EVIL and the lickers in RE2 come to mind.
I just can't picture Ant playing video games. I mean maybe a Blacklivesmatter video game where he plays the cops. In between levels "Racism is some crazy shit" =)
I too am in my early 20s and am amazed how far videogames have come. They went from gameboys, which were so amazing because they were "games you could take with you", to playstation vitas and nintendo 3DS, handheld games with fully 3D graphics as powerful as a playstation. They went from virtual boy, the big blocky red thing that strained your eyes, all because it had "3D graphics". Now we have game systems that boast 3D better than most movies like Wii U and PS3,that can connect online
Ant really is right; all these games seemed so real to life as a kid, the immersion that we thought we had. Now guys have cockpits in their houses for flight simulators. RIP Patrice
This conversation makes me feel like a psychopath because Half-Life, Far Cry, Metal Gear Solid, Call of Duty, Elite Dangerous and Project Cars are just some examples of my favorite franchises (and not in that order).

Half-Life was really something.... I remember back in 1998....... that game changed my life. That D-Day game he was talking about was Medal of Honor: Frontline on Playstation 2. That was my first game on PS2, and remained one of my favorites.
Half-Life... I was 11 when I first played that and after completing the training mode several times to perfection, I entered the game and it was so fucking awesome... but scared the shit out of me. All I remember, I pushed this cart in this lab and all hell breaks loose, split dimensions, and all I had was a crow bar. and this this thing came out me killed me and I was DONE! XD
@@LiogCeartas haha! Yeah, that sounds about right! You should try the high graphic remake of Half-Life, called "Black Mesa". IT'S AMAZING. If you were looking to try it again, Black Mesa would be the best way to experience Half-Life.
haven't thought about that tiger woods game since i last played it 11 years ago or sumn, yet them talking bout the pro shop made me remember exactly how my character was fitted💀
Real warfare is becoming more remote. Drones and robotics are the future of war, and I think these video games are grooming the next generation of people who will control these drones and robots in battle. That is why these new games require real tactical thought and planning instead of some GoldenEye 64 bum-rush run and gun style like Patrice was talking about.
The good ol' days indeed. Patrice was alive and everything was good with the world while Anthony was funny and brilliant before becoming a stormfront hack.
