I haven’t heard Jack play in a very, very long time. Sometimes you just forget good things are still out there. Wow.
He’s been playing with The Raconteurs.
@@franciet99 theres so much more...the dead wheather ...his white stripes...other solo works...hes a goat
@@opppopp2322 agreed! Great in everything he does.
@Tyler Winkler wonderful!
I don't know if anyone has noticed but this is a catastrophe for what everything jack white stood for... Hands down the worst thing I've heard in 34 years and yeah I'm 34 and a Robert Johnson fan. Awful music deserves to be played and argued about.
Jack White is one of those musicians who makes music that isn’t my taste, and I wouldn’t listen to it regularly, but his musicianship, stage presence, and skill are undeniable. He’s a great performer.
I totally agree. I find his music repetitive and boring. but can't deny his amazing talent.
@@bluceree7312 really interesting how different people interpret music differently. I love JW because his music is not boring and not repetitive
@@bluceree7312 wtf some descriptive words I cant fathom one would use,the guy is so diverse I guess U haven't listened to a lot of his music over the years
@@MrMiketh12 far faaaarrrrrr from it
@@danielseaton3504 I might be more interested in in his music if the lyrics were understandable. Why does he yell into the mike with no lyrics?
That fuzz sound is gnarly as hell. I'm loving Jack's latest guitar and effects arsenal.
@NBA HIGHLIGHTS what's that got to do with my comment you absolute bell end?
I think that's one of the pedals he makes. Might be the Bumble Buzz pedal.
@@BranceCrantly I've seen the trailers for his gear. Looks great
Stuff but well out of my price range. I own a Twosome fuzz that gets pretty close.
It's sounds so huge. I want it.
Yeah if you haven’t seen the video of him showing off his guitar and how he’s customized it you really should. It’s super cool
I've seen Jack White live twice in my life and he is the best performer live that I've ever seen.
sterling: never saw Zappa live,I suppose.
@@michaeldeignan7922 No I have not.
i saw him with the stripes and the raconteurs and he is without a doubt the greatest guitarist i personally have ever seen perform.
@@tyzerro he is something else live...you have to see it to know...its an experience the dude can shred people are surprised ...i love the loudness of his shows too no pussy stuff crank it to 11
@@michaeldeignan7922 neither did Zappas kids
I'm in my late 60s. I heard this on the show, and bought the disc. I normally don't listen to stuff like this, but....it's incredible. The sound of that guitar...the production...wow.
A true creative genius that knows how to execute and deliver commercially as well. World class skill set.

You just never know what you're gonna get with Jack White's box of musical chocolates. Love it.
...um... 95% of the box of chocolates are terrible.
@@Feverdream7777 blue don't know what's he talking about
daru jones on the drums...killin it. two innovators doing innovator things
bringin his spice to what jack made
Brings back so many great memories of the late 80's and 90's.... this song is the perfect blend of Rage Against the Machine and the Beastie Boys.... Awesome!
Came looking for this comment.
Yes, definite Rage Against the Machine vibes! Loved it! 💙
I met jack when he was the musical guest on the New Prairie Home Companion. He was releasing acoustic covers of his stuff and showed up with these big shiny silver instruments made out of shiny metal. A guitar, upright bass and a shiny metal violin. They were used on cruise ships bach in the day because they would not warp like wood. Jack asked me if there was a good place to practice, off stage, I set him up on a landing in a covered Atrium between the Fitzgerald Theater and the building next door. It was a joy to hear them jam and has inspired my work on my electric fretless bass ukulele.
So cool!
I thought you had to get carbon fiber to not warp. Fine ideas. On the interview portion of this show, learned he is into so many creative endeavors as a maker, e.g., baseball bats and pressing vinyl records and upholstery with sound engineering plus conceptual art.
@@Ma_Ba They didn't do CF back in the day.
@@Ma_Ba these were instruments made n the early 20th century, pre carbon fiber. The upright bass reminded me of the silver Naboo ship from the Star Wars prequels
@@GameOfDepth I was thinking of resonators, slide guitars, lap guitars. Your comparison is absolutely fab!
this has a very classic Jack White sound, love it
There's not enough current music that sounds like music used to
This is a banger of a track. Like you said, it's so nice hearing classic Jack White again.
@@bradley163 but its also not, in a way, like it invokes as much lazaretto as it does the white stripes or the raconteurs
I really like Hi-De-Ho with Q-tip, killer tune.
@@dikdik1313 it's just that most pop music now a days is shit, I've never been a fan of post 2010 pop garbage, you know, the "popular" music
Sounded a bit like Rage Against the Machine.
This man has such a vision. He knows exactly what kind of album, what kind of songs he wants to make.
And already twelve (12!) Grammies under the belt!
All opinions are wonderful, but kinda sounds like a "fuck what to do" go back to rage against the machine vibe.
@@AnthonyPosi Rage against the machine was badass.
Ummm. The Beatles won 5 Grammies during their career. The number of Grammies means nothing about quality. More of a statement about how weak the scene and the competition are.
Oh and he’s only won 8 not 12 and 3 of those were for re-packaged box sets so… means even less.
@@daddyboy3546 build the swing in my yard, talking to the obvi.
I read people commenting on the drumming on this and it takes me back to when it was just Jack and Meg. It is still clear how much Jack loves to play off the drumming part, he feeds off of it. Maybe that's why no one does what he does. And it's only natural that he would have an amazing drummer in his band. Great stuff.
i dont know about you but i miss the white stripes.
He played most the drums on his new album & added them last from what I saw in an interview.
@@hippydippy he played nearly everything on the new album, other than Q-tip’s part on Hidey Ho and like a stray part or two.
@@dougthealligator That’s only on “Taking Me Back”, Daru is on the rest of the tracks
Funky 💥
That was the very best drumming I’ve heard in a very long time!! The rest of the band was great also! But the drumming…OMG!! I’m close to seventy, but I would love to see them live!
@Late Night Humans Thanks, I’ll get online to see if and when they’re playing nearby.
Darcy Jones lays it down. They put on incredible shows. Pure electricity
Daru Jones is a beast.
Hey Lester, search out Danny Carey - Pneuma (Tool) here on youtube. You just might like it, gets pretty technical :)
Saw him live last Saturday. Amazing
Legendary! Excellent album that sounds incredible on vinyl. Not only does he make some of the best music around, he has his own studio where you can go, record your music and press records right there. Badass.
The buzz guitar is a new element I can open my brain to. Use of the tonic and the octave reminded me of, "Bulls on Parade". Rage on Jack!
Finally, a good new rock song. Bravo.
@beep boop Seconded. Best rock album I’ve heard in a few years.
@@jackmaxwell2637 Never heard of IDLES I take it?
They come out every few months
We saw Jack live two days ago in Shreveport LA, and wow, what a lifetime concert it was, songs from today, from the White Stripes, and the Raconteurs. Superb musicianship, awesome songs, a true guitar hero too. An amazing night. Last encore song was, guess? Seven Nation Army.
Fear of the Dawn , best Rock album of 2022 🤘
Oh my God! This was a perfect performance! This is very difficult to sing and play guitar to! It’s got that Jack White signature rock sound while still sounding unique and fresh!!! Can’t wait to see you live Jack!
Not sure if I would call that singing..
@@thinkforyourself828 He doesn't consider himself a singer. He says he's a vocalist.
Absolutely. He's one of the true greats in my book.
"There are simply two kinds of music, good music and the other kind." Duke Ellington's quote is timeless, and Jack plays the good kind.
Drummer is on point! Jack is and has always been an amazing musician.
Daru Jones! He's rad
I was slow to warm up to this, but by the end I was intrigued. It makes me think how crazy a collab between him and Beck could be.
They’ve collaborated a few times. Jack plays bass on “Go It Alone.” Beck played on a few singles the white stripes put out. “Cash Grab Complications…” is a good one. There are yet a few more as well.
Rockin' in the free world. ... What we need this moment
I get a thrill out of anything Jack White does honestly. So original.
I was getting along alright with the song thinking 'Ok Jack this sounds good but not really my jam' then around 2:41 he started playing my jam. You think the second half of the song is different but then you realize it's been there since the beginning. Man, I love his music, so many layers.
It is a neat trick to have that much going on and still leave all that empty space.
Very seldom do I hear a performance on late night shows that makes me want to check out their music.
Thank you.
Fantastic!!
Thanks Jack!
TCB⚡️TLC⚡️
Live and he nails it. Never seen him off-beat, even once. He's awesome...
That is just absolutely fantastic drumming. LOOVE that groove.
I just saw jack white play live and if you get the opportunity to see him you have to, all of his musicians are so talented. The whole show is just so coordinated, everyone was in costumes. If you have the chance go see him it was a blast
Great song & great performance.
Colbert always has the best musical guests
music was great, but i just want that blue sofa! and that bumblebee chair, OMG !
Album of the year!

Holy. Shit. My goosebumps have goosebumps.. !!!!!
Saw them this latest tour and it's one of the best live shows out there. Dude is a legend and thst band is tight.
Can't wait to see jack in June!
Fear of the dawn - album of the year - every song is a gem! JW is a genius
god i love jack white so much
Jack White IS music💙🙏
This whole album is like a circus of freaks & oddities, in the best way. Seems like it would be incredibly difficult to deliver the songs live -- especially this one -- but they did an excellent job recreating the utter chaos of the recorded version. And Jack's vocals are dope.
Perfectly structured and flawlessly performed
I would’ve loved to see him colab with Jon Batiste like Nathaniel Rateliff did
Hi Jack, love you music. Have a nice day. Also stephen too.
Awesome. He rocks. Love😍🎶
Colbert always gets good musical guests. I have been a White Stripes fan for over 20 years, and am glad Jack is still on top of his game. This is a great album! 😎
That last tone change.🤩
That was a blast!
That was so good!
I've never seen the video you're referring to, so SPAM click bait B.S.
I agree, his cadence is very reminiscent of RAtM. Incredible track.
Banger.
He's one.of the greatest, most creative artists I've had the chance to see play live. Always fun to hear his work 🔥🎸🔥🎶💙🎶
Original, talented and innovative are the words to describe Jack and his great music, IMO.
Finally fuzz sounds making a comeback
great performance! All the band is amazing!
Jack White is such a spectacular human!!!
one of the favorites rt now .. perfect timing
Geez, they sound freaking incredible.
Yes this some classic crunchy Jack!
this was my favorite off the album. badass performance
Simply so F’n good..
I saw him get married in Detroit!!!
I’m not jealous of his wife.

Intense.Jack White at his best
Pure talent
Holy shit! Some actual fucking great music!
21st Century blues. Great to hear musicians stretching within the boundaries of an art..
that had a touch of Capt, Beefheart in it. cheers all. great music.
That was really great. Original performance - tune - sound - well done. Very well done.
Love Jack White.
The Last Rock Star is back.
Wow! Always something new thrown in!
Jack White and Daru Jones = the perfect combination of Sonics and percussion🔥
That band member in the back with the ukulele sounds great!
So amazing
Thanks for posting. Saw both shows in the D and loved them both. Saturdays show blue me away!!
“Blue” you away-I see what you did there! 👍🏻
Saw him in Grand Rapids and loved it!!
Fantastic performance
Oh damn this is amazing
This is awesome!!!
What a great and fun performance!
Been listening to this album nonstop. I'm just SO impressed!
Rock on!!!
Whether you're into this kind of music or not, you gotta admit... Jack White is something special. We are lucky that he's still active and making new music.
Yes!!
His lyrics are childlike simple!
Brilliant!!!!!!!
Good Job Jack and the band!
You’ve done yourselves proud!
Fantastic- never lets me down. World class writer.
Saw him a few weeks ago at Ohana. He was easily the best performance of the weekend. Absolutely killed it!
He just gets better and better.
Jack on top form ... as ever. Great song. + That DRUMMER!!!! 🤩👍
Legend!
So good!
This album is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Man, that drummer is a real badass!
Daru Jones on the drums. Amazing, unique artist.
A real LCD Soundsystem vibe on this track. I like it.
That was awesomeness dudes. Jack dont disappoint
@Alexandria Lane I dont speak spanish dude. No habla mijo
That’s an epic shirt. And new, epic song. Nicely done!
Shades of Idles in the vocals and Beastie Boys in the sound. ✨
The thing I love about Jack White is his attitude.. I'm a glory boy bragging I got to see him back in the day at small club shows in Detroit when he was banging drums with Goober and the Peas.. Those were fun times.
