I love my new Defender… and my Golden Retriever loves it, too!!!
Not near as fun as a Jeep Wrangler you can buy for $35k and after 100k miles and 7 years you can sell for $26k
You loose as much driving this off the lot as daily driving a wrangler for 7 years!
If you don't have the 7 seater, then you can fold the second row completely flat! Just pull on the little tag sticking out of the seat at the bottom of the back rest, that will allow you to flip the seat section forward...fold down the head rests by pressing the button on the side...and voila!! the backrest part of the seat folds down completely flat!!

The seats DO fold flat, pull the squabs up 1st and then fold them - now they are FLAT or just remove headrests 1st

As per other comments, u can fold the Row 2 Seats flat
And
U can get a Camera in the rear view mirror, which then gives u an unobstructed view of the rear, via roof mounted shark fin.
In fact, it’s a std feature on the X model
Just flick the button on the rear view mirror.
2:46 ya u can .. u have to pull the bottom sitting portion upwards to make space for the back part of the seat to fold all the way flat

The seats do go fully flat on the 5 seat version which is what you have there. Flip the base forward.

The back seats do go fully flat. You have to pull the bottom piece up then the back seat will fit right in there and the back will be flat. Great vid tho. Got 2 dogs with a Jaguar F pace w a baby too.. This looks like a great space upgrade
You can actually make the 2nd row fold completely flat. Just have to pull out the seat bottoms first
I have watched so many videos about the Defender to prepare for my purchase, but this by far is the best review out there. Such great content, great shots, and well edited. Subscribed!
Drove a new Defender. Also drove a new Discovery, which is what I eventually chose. It was more luxurious inside and you can control all the seats from up front. AC too! And the tailgate lifts up instead of swinging out. It also was more dog friendly (IMO). I ordered a 2021, so it has the same infotainment as this Defender.

The Defender continues to be a unique vehicle. It's tough to see the divide between people who like the older models versus those who like the newer one. At the end of the day, this vehicle is a beast. And the customization factor is out of this world. Glad to see the Defender reincarnated for another generation. -North44Rovers

Loved your quirky video, but for your info the seats do lay flat you just need to lift the seat up forword then lay the back down then it is perfectly flat. have a great day.

It sure is a shame that their reliability is so bad. This is exactly what I need now. As I age I don’t want solid axels and my current dog hates bumpy rides (my labs loved it, but my current is a Jindo) good size too. Just keep thinking of TFL going through three of em. Looks perfect for the pups though. Maybe Land Rover can get it sorted.
Don’t let a UA-cam video milked for view counts sway you from the best car LR has ever made. My Defender is my third Land Rover and they have all been reliable, excellent vehicles.
Their first did seem to be a lemon, but the dealer broke the second one by cutting through a harness! Fingers crossed for LR.

The seats do lie fully flat. First you lift up the seat cushion and then you rotate the headrests. Voila, fully flat!
Actually, second row seats go fully flat.
Yup need to lift the seat bottom first.

Yeah, you’re fine even with but the 3rd row seat. Definitely one of our faves for this year

That Jeep with the 392 has to be top speed limited to prevent evolution & also has to be limited off road to retain real grip. A lot of $$ only to neuter the thing that added all the cost.
This is better than the Jeep Wrangler and that terrible Ford Bronco

The back seats do lie completely flat. You just need to adjust the headrests.
You should be able to completely flatten the back seats. Something to do with tilting or removing head guards. 👍

I do really like your review format but its easier to watch when you are yourself vs the added zany hamming it up schtick. I sorta get pulled out of it when you go into the womp womp mode akin to jazz hands. Dont mean to be mean if that's how it comes off but i just don't think you need the exaggerated intonation.

Not NEAR as FUN as a JEEP WRANGLER and rides so slightly nicer it’s not worth getting this boring suv.
A Jeep will change your life I live without a top or doors in the summer and the jeep community, events, fun, heritage, once you own a jeep you never have a boring vehicle again
This is a better vehicle in every possible way. Just as good off-road, infinitely superior on-road, can tow 8k lbs (how’s your wrangler towing?). More comfortable and modern and much less generic. I have no problem with people who like their Jeep but save the ridiculous hyperbole.
