Different outsole, different eyelets for laces, different tongue + steel. A lot stiffer than 2X (2X is the 800 heritage, 2X Pro is the APX/1X heritage). Unless you're playing high-level hockey and/or being on ice 5+ times a week, 2X should be more than enough.
The 2X skate is made from 3D lasted Curv Composite and Pro TPU, whereas the X2.9 skate is made from 3D-lasted Tech Mesh and injected TPU. The Curv Composite in the quarter package of the 2X makes the skate stiffer and more durable than the model below.

I found they were way more stiff and in my opinion not as comfortable.
