Love all your videos, the in-depth ones are incredible and amongst the best on UA-cam in my opinion. Keep they all coming, always happy to watch your content.Your attention to detail is outstanding ie the little yellow cap, that's why your cars are all top quality.

Franny, Speaking only for me, I enjoy the shorter VLOG videos. I am not a wrench turner (at all!) and have a couple 911s. Your unparalleled patience, meticulous detail, crazy knowledge, and clear joy in doing this work on your cars and sharing it with ‘us’ is what brings me (and probably many others) back again and again. I mean, watching you put that tiny yellow cap in place make us happy watching you be genuinely happy. It is your (and Heidi, of course) personality that makes what you do so compelling for us viewers to spend our time watching and learning and ultimely being entertained. So, my TL;DR. Keep doing EVERYTHING you enjoy doing. We will be here watching it all and thanking you. Cheers, Michael

Franny I also enjoy a mixture of videos that you ladies present. The in depth rebuild/refurbishment ones are excellent but as we all know it's these smaller projects that can take an inordinate amount of time but are the icing on the cake.
PS: scavenging parts to rebuild is good business sense. Along with saving money, its reuse, rebuild and restore. A win for all.

Franny, it's your channel so do what makes you feel good! You will never please all the people all the time. I enjoy both types of video. I like the way you do everything properly and when you have issues I like your diagnostic approach. I found out a few days ago that Edd China's channel has become active again. Edd is always a pleasure to watch as he works, as are you. After starting a new life in Asia many years ago I know I will never own another Porsche so watching you work on and enjoy your cars is a kind of compensation!

On the door vapour barriers, I don’t know specifically on Porsche, but generally these use a non-setting adhesive (a dark goop that looks a bit like that stuff they use to bond modern windscreens). This avoids the issues with a traditional glue drying out and/or going brittle and detaching, while also helping create a better seal

Franny, I love the variety of all your projects, so keep doing what your doing. That 911 engine looks and sounds fabulous. Oh, to have enough money to buy a 993!
The door motor pullout and re-brush reminds me of doing just that to my old Alfa 33QV way back in the early 90s. I even had to take both the door windows and slider mechanisms out as I had to replace and rewire both door window and lock cabling due to broken and frayed wiring going through both "quality Alfa" door openings, YAY, a joyous job that was! Most European door motors are probably all made from the same 3rd party OEM supplier too. The motors always struggle pushing the window weight and all those bracket and scissor lift style lever arms uphill! They of course tend to work much faster with the engine running and supplying alternator voltage to the doors!
Your engineering OCD and attention to yellow caps is just like mine! Cheers from NZL, David :)

I know what you mean about the detail like the tiny yellow cap, and how it makes you feel. details like that on my boat the Mercury outboard has a yellow plastic filler cap on the power trim/lift. It has UV faded and stained from red hydraulic fluid. It is such a niggle to me each time I see it. I have ordered one and look forward to that tiny moment of sweet satisfaction.

Very interesting to watch you rebuild the window motor. Although the window is noticeably better it still appears to have slow travel when moving upwards. I think while you were in there it might have been good to take out the window regulator frame with cables for further inspection. The wheels guiding the cables might be slightly clogged up with dust. An unbalanced window attached to the regulator can also cause issues.
    Great work.

By the way I have a bottle of that 303 stuff, apparently it is actually used in aircraft maintenance (I’m not an expert, so they may be a myth). However a lot of people recommended it for UV protection and the reason I originally bought it was for coating plastic headlight lenses

I keep a collapsible container in my trunk with all my detail stuff plus my Liquimoly oil, a can of brake fluid (in case), and some pink VW coolant. I don't think 303 will rejuvenate rubber. I definitely use it to spray my interior parts. But have found the 3M stuff to be the best by far.

Love both formats, your comments as you work and the camera work are both excellent. Whichever format allows more content is my vote! One question on the plug wires. Do they recommend di-electric grease in the boots? Keep it coming!

Thanks! That's a great idea! I should have done that especially with the possible moisture.

Glad there is still lots of stuff to do with the car. I just LOVE these videos ! On a side note: how did you get the door opening handle deep black again ? They tend to go grey...

Those came from Chad's car, but 303 protectant works too. You can buy new ones if they look bad.
