I don't own anything. All right goes to the Paramount+ Star Trek
Carol Kane is awesome, so good to see her still working and kicking it...
This was my favorite episode of S2.
La’an inspires Pelia to become engineer.
It would have been fun if they had Guinan do a background cameo (or did I miss it?).
Guinan is in San Fransisco, at this time. Dealing with a group of time travelers, I believe. One of whom would be, slash, is an old friend.
@@deathdisclover999 that would be 60(?)plus years ago from this ep
@@darkdemon580 130ish years ago, but that's not the episode @deathdisclover999 is talking about.
Draft of script where it was supposed to be NYC to Vermont didn't get updated. Now it's a weird way to cross-border travel from Toronto to Vermont...
Given the way things have been going recently, probably not.
She mentioned bribing a border guard.
it that barn on lakeshore in clarkson mississauga?
So - did they take a taxi from Toronto to Vermont?
“Bribe a border guard, take a cab & four buses.”
No. She literally said that it took them all day to get there, they had to bribe a border guard, take a cab and 4 buses.
Yes, because it’s easy to bribe US boarder guards with money you won playing chess for a few hours! Nice penthouse hotel rooms as well. To say nothing of a couple of hot dogs.
@@UGNAvalon Huge plot hole. Really stupid. Border guards can't be bribed.
@@UGNAvalon
Bribing US border guards on the Canadian border? That is science fiction.
Good series, where is it being streamed?
god I love Paul Wesley, he was great in this series.
That Romulan put a tune up on La'An. I wonder why the writers make Klingons and Romulans so much stronger than Earthlings. Maybe we should have created more Khans to even the playing field. Or maybe La An is just another in a long line of Security chiefs that can't fight like Worf before he went to DS9.
It makes sense. Think about it: Starfleet security officers are glorified bodyguards, extensively trained in diplomacy, the Prime Directive, how to deal with weird spatial anomalies and a bunch of other things. They are explicitly not trained to be soldiers.
Romulans and Klingons, by contrast, do train soldiers. They can't do half the things that a Starfleet officer can, but when it comes to combat, they kick ass.
Taxi took them to PELIA.
Great Episode
Love this show...but let's look at something that has been puzzling me since I first saw this episode. How do we get from Toronto to Vermont in one day without passports?
People are wondering how they made it from Toronto to Vermont in a day; while it's not strictly impossible, it is highly improbable. I'm going to chalk it up to, time is trying to reset itself, like the Romulan woman said keeps happening. That suggests that at least some random events are going to skew towards time resetting itself, because the timelines where unfavorable conditions are present are "disallowed" or at least rendered less likely.
Back in the 90s you could visit Canada without a passport. Could be that some of the border agents remember those days and are not real worried about passports, so they'll overlook it if they are persuaded there's a good reason. Kind of like how the border agents used to ask "so why the heck are you entering Canada, eh?" and you just had to say, "we want to see Niagara Falls" and they'd let you in. Busting people's chops at the border is something of a farce. ANYWAY, if "time" saw to it that such a guard were working the booth La'an and Jim visited, that'd explain how they got past.
Pelia is the Guinan simulate
shouldnt the time ship Relativity detected unauthorized visiters in the pasT?
Well they were sent by time agents..sooo
im more curious how they got from canada to vermont with passports or cash
Pure Kirk charm.
They're not Mexicans.
1:32 This is a rookie mistake. There is NO WAY this squeaky clean car, just drive thru all that rain and slush. This must be all green screened. And that must be a product placement for Ford. And they didn’t want the car to be dirty.
Bribing a US border guard sounds a lot easier than I think it actually is.
What does La'An say @1:00?
Something about intercourse…? lol 🤷🏻♂️
It's weird seeing a 21st Century Ford in a Star Trek series.
How did they cross the border?
done and done👽🙃😎
Everybody knows someone in Vermont...
Pelia is old even then!
she's born in the 6th century.... she would be 2623 years old as of 2023.. the only humanoid character older than her would be flint from TOS.
@@cosmeticscameo8277 I'm confused. If she was born in the 6th century (500-600 AD) she's be 1400-1500 years old right? And how do we know when she was born?
@@AndyCutrighte meant 6th century BC.
We cannot be sure but Pelia in this episode said She haven't studied maths since Pithagora made It up, implying She was already around in pythagora time.
She's an El Aurian, is she? 🙄
Or if Q showed up.
You can tell that is not the real Kirk. La 'An still has her clothes on. LOL!
I always expect him to get dark veins around his eyes and start biting people in the neck.
They paid the taxi in American with Canadian Money?
Hmmmm I'm guessing that this show is made Canada. Just a wild guess.
Is Pelia another El Aurian refugee living on Earth like Guinan? How come she lives in both 21st and 23rd century?
She is a Lanthanite- it is explained in the episode that her species lived among humans for thousands of years undiscovered until the 22nd century.
@@thegoose1005 Interesting. Wondering why they're making her into a new species instead of an El Aurian. Must have something to do with future plotline.
@@LGranthamsHeir Wasn't Guinan the only El Aurian on Earth back then? They didn't become refugees until the opening of Star Trek Generations.
Cross the border without a passport?
Not a ship, a spacecraft.
The "weapon" was purchased by a Jewish/Ferengi Hybrid. Known as The Merchant.
Glad to see that Jim Carrey toned it down for his Kirk role.
Is this a Jim Carrey version of Captain Kirk?
No, this is the best version of Captain Kirk.
Imagine if you will, Jim Carrey's parody of Kirk from In Living Color, played straight...
My only quibble is that the Kirk character's voice should be an octave lower. But that's just nothing, since I'm enjoying SNW regardless, Pike, Spock, Kirk, Chapel, et al.
Fake trek
demasculise Kirk masculise the Romulan female, lol welcome to 2023
What is this nonsense. Where here is Kirk in anyway emasculated?
@@MAPolomski the characters fit this generation. The men are pussies and the women rule. Lol
Since when have Romulans not been martial? "Marches beneath the raptors wings" isn't exactly a classically feminine trait. And Trek has always been about challenging stereotypes, race and gender aren't supposed to matter
This episode brought you by Ford. And by the Vermont chamber of commerce. Ford and Vermont - proud sponsors of stuff you enjoy.
