I don't own anything. All right goes to the Paramount+ Star Trek
i can see this being part of the Temporal war, we thought it was alien species fighting the Federation throughout history but is actually different versions of the Federation itself. the Prime, the Mirror, Confederation, even the JJverse are all involved
That would be awesome
The bridge wasn’t destroyed by the JJverse. Not enough lens flair.
I like this idea actually.
"My Earth still has sunsets."
Now i HAVE to see this
As a fan of Stat Trek an a Canadian never thought I would see Toronto or Kirk eat Poutine.😊
Shatner is from Montreal. He's probably had it a lot. And, as the NBC series "Better Late Than Never" proved, he's always willing to eat things that most people would consider disgusting.
@@UncleMikeNJ You are right but that is Shatner not Kirk. And Poutine is not not disgusting. If it was it wouldn't be so popular.
@@SchnuffiJames Balut is popular dish in the Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam; that doesn't mean it isn't disgusting.
There was a Next Generation episode that had Toronto City Hall.
@@UncleMikeNJ anyone who considers poutine disgusting should try klingon gagh....
So that what convinces Alternate Kirk to help when he finds out his brother is still alive in the Prime Timeline. At least until that episode with the space parasites in Star Trek the Original Series.
How do we know he doesn't survive now in the SNW timeline past that point and dies a little later? If Khan's birth could be delayed by 30+ years, then maybe the entire TOS history could be delayed as well. History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme, so the Federation exists, key characters and people still exist to do what needs to be done.
That happens 7 years after the current events of SNW.
@@time391khaaaaaaaaNnnnnnnn!
Sorry, sorry. Reflex.
Kirk must have Chess Hustled a lot. To get a place like that.
he defeated like 20 opponents or something based on that crowd that was forming around them.
each person puts up $50-100 they got $1000 - 2000.00
i was thinking same thing. That is an apartment not a hotel lol.
@@mk17173n AirBNB
@@cosmeticscameo8277 Likely more, since he was doing a progressive pot. As the pot grows, so do the number of challengers.
Toronto, new bridge in the Port Lands!
In our world, there has never been a bridge crossing Lake Ontario from Toronto to Rochester. Is it possible, with the technology we have now? That's quite a distance. I know one from Cape May, New Jersey to Lewes, Delaware, replacing the ferry, has been talked about, and that's only 17 miles, but they've never tried it.
It’s probably too expensive to build now but the technology probably exists rugbt now
It’s certainly possibly, although would be prohibitively expensive and arguably unnecessary, not to forget nonsensical if it directly linked between those two cities. Toronto is at the northern west end of the lake, directly across from it in the south is Niagara Falls by about 42 miles or so. Rochester, New York is south central to the lake at it’s widest part. A bridge between the two cities would have to stretch around 70 miles diagonally across the lake, which just isn’t a logical route.
I thought it was the Gardiner at first. I would be openly cheering from the window lol.
@@tcsnowdream9975 Having just seen the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse in Baltimore (it was lucky that only 6 people died), having seen a few other bridges collapse, and remembering the 1989 World Series earthquake where a double-decked freeway collapsed in Oakland, killing dozens, what you're suggesting is nothing to cheer about.
On the other hand, that sentiment has appeared before. Before "The Big Dig," which put the John F. Fitzgerald Expressway (I-93, named for a Mayor and JFK's grandfather) underground, the elevated version of it was called "Boston's Other Green Monster."
Paul Wesley does a nice job as Jim Kirk.
Beats the hell out of Chris Pine. He may look more like Kirk than Wesley does, and he plays the part as written, but this is closer to the Kirk we know.
If Toronto had a bridge like that then half of the traffic would be gone.
and skip driving 407.
@@markceaser8073 Downtown Toronto would still require the Gardiner Expressway. The 407 is really outside of the urban core.
@@seanwebb605 driven the Gardiner. I rather drive through London or Seattle.
@@markceaser8073 During my only trip to Seattle I took a monorail to the science fiction museum below the space needle. But I want to go back for a Blue Jays game.
Laan…and Kirk…. So much a like.
As long as they were going to kill Kirk, they really missed the chance to drop that bridge on him.
Get off my Br... oh, wait. Never mind. 😛
is that a real bridge in toronto?
@@randomrazr NOT ANY MORE!
@@randomrazr
Oh yes, Toronto also has flying cars, sentient androids, and starship parking lots. WTF do you think?
@@JB-yb4wn never been their so dontk now if the bridge was real and they CGI an explosion or both. no need to be a dick
Now we know how the Gardiner Expressway ends.
theres plans for a star trek republic tv series with a young kirk as an ensign i reckon theyll probably cast paul wesley in that too
the explosion would have blown out that glass...
Knowing that Sam was alive was all he needed to choose that timeline.
"Get to the bridge": imagine if they were on a starship instead and witnessing an explosion in space. They would have to get to the "bridge."
Too bad there was no way for La'An (or anybody) to tell Kirk about what Samuel Clemens said about what's worth giving cigars up for.
What does La'An say @1:28?
They must have stayed at an airBNB. There is no way they can afford a monthly rent on a chess game in TO. They they should have blown up the bridge to Detroit. At least that bridge exists in this timeline...
or they have superior tech skills and hacked the airbnb website and booked that penthouse. Just like Scotty easily operated that ancient desktop computer and gave away the formula for transparent aluminium to that company manager in ST: The Voyage Home.
The new Gordie Howe Bridge will be open in a year, anyway.
@@al28854 but scotty didn't hack into anything. he basically created the formula/drawings/schematic on the macintosh.
Pretty sure they would rather film in Toronto then either Detroit or Windsor.
@@UncleMikeNJ Highway 9?
tdot! 🍁
Sam was in a farming accident. Got caught under a tractor or harvesting machine
Kirk was born in space was he not? USS Iowa?
A bridge between Toronto and western New York State would never be built. It would devastate the economy of the 7.6 million people of the Niagara Golden Horseshoe by bypassing the region. Cities like Windsor, London, and Hamilton would become depopulated. I know the writers were honouring Toronto by the episode (since they film the series there) but for Torontians the story requires a lot of bemused disbelief. Still a fun watch.
How do you know the saboteur wasn't originally from Niagara?
Alguém em 2024 depois da ponte nos euas ?
I prefer the Quentin Tarantino version where the city is nuked and people are running around on fire.
Guys i really I understood very little about this episode, could someone kindly explain it to me? Please
They trek across stars
Bridge to Captain Kirk.
[no answer]
Captain Kirk, please report to the Bridge.
😛
I don't see him as Kirk
Ugh. Time travel is always the worst of trek.
Time travel. Alternate time lines. Mirror Verse. The plots they love dipping their hands into again and again.
A stupid episode that made no sense.
