Drove a Quadrifoglio on track in 2019, and haven't stopped singing its praises since. Lovely things
One of the most exciting SUV that is actually attainable in the used market.
A used Alfa... that's a bad decision if I ever heard one.
@@SerPurple51 Won't be much different with other luxury brands. Maybe Lexus.
@@Fucklesticks lol nope, alfa is its own animal still unreliable
@@Fucklesticks yes that is true. But a used Alfa Romeo would be very low on the list of used vehicles considered worthwhile.
@@SerPurple51 stuck in the 70s?
The steering on these is sublime.
The most fun and characterful SUV ever created. Handles better than most sports sedans I’ve driven.
the only other SUV that drives as good as this the Macan.
@@Alex.AL_26 the Macan is arguably better but its so refined that it takes away that sharpness and engagement that makes the Stelvio so rewarding to drive. The steering, engine character, and nimbleness are a step above the Macan imo.
@@jjchockey I have a Macan S and in comfort mode the Macan is quite refined, but in sport or sport plus the handling and driving dynamics are quite impressive. I can take curved highway on ramps at 70-80 MPH and it feels very stable.
@@Alex.AL_26 Stelvio is the better drivers SUV.
@@Alex.AL_26 It honestly doesn't drive as well. I have a 911 GTS and a Stelvio QV. Drove the Macan, every model. Alfa is way more dynamic. Not even close.
Every time a video on this car is posted I have to watch it, so entertaining, the engine, those shifts and 14:12 this just aaaahhhhhh what a joy.
Great video as always!
Same here, and I drive one every day! Still love to watch others reviewing the Stelvio Quadrifoglio 🔥🔥😎😎
Fantastic review and spot on with all your observations. You put other reviewers to shame. Just such a pity that this car gets overlooked by Porsche and BMW drivers.
I love how this Alfa Romeo can be a nice daily driver for in town and a fun weekend performance car all in one
This is hands down the best color I've ever seen on a production car, without a doubt. I would put that on any car I have if possible.
It's gorgeous
Honestly, can’t argue with this
always loved alfa romeo and their styling
These Alpha Cars, they’re a lot like the people who make them; choc-full of Italian Character and Passion, a unique specialness as well that stands out I think from all the other manufacturers. I love the crackles between gear-shifts, how there’s still the practicality of traditional dials for the Speed & Rev Counter and how modern technology is blended in perfectly. The Stereo is OK I suppose, but people who buy those cars do so for that Engine Note - that’s where the Real Symphony is!
There’s no faffing around to get to the most important stuff because it’s just there! I don’t care much for the Color on this particular one you were driving however, but I still enjoyed seeing the car nonetheless. Thanks Chris!
i have watched most of your reviews, and looks like you had most fun in this car, compared to any other (in the reasonable category and price range)
Are we just going to pretend that thing didn’t SHIT itself at 15:40 ☠️ undeniably the most aggressive, drawn out upshift burble ever
You get that kind of upshift in the Levante as well
Absolutely gorgeous Italian design! Love the color too!
Some of the best exhaust sound in the business
The exhaust actually sounds better in the Stelvio SUV than it does in the Giulia sedan. The Giulia QV is a bit to hushed and subdued for a sports sedan. The exhaust in the Giulia doesn’t have as much of the peaky V6 sound that this has.
Not the same, but I picked up a verde montreal 22 giulia QV and have LOVED it.
Nice you upload this video when I’m checking out to buy one 😅
FYI there is a setting in the infotainment for the reverse camera delay.
"Camera Delay": Allows you to delay
switching off the camera by a few seconds
when reverse gear is disengaged.
That color looks OUTSTANDING
It's just a shame that green as a color is not available on most cars on sale rn.
I can't get enough topher videos
I like when the reverse camera stays on for a bit. If you have too go reverse - drive - reverse it's nice to have the screen not switching around too much.
There's a setting in the menus where the reverse camera delay can be turned off or on.
That’s my dream car hopefully once I’m 25 I’ll be able to buy it
You have to touch the "steering wheel" button for active lane control. First it engages adaptive cruise then you select steering. Didn't know southeast Michigan was so beautiful.
This car sounds amazing stock!
I like that the tach needle buries itself in the redline, that's satisfying to see
I have no *need* for one of these, but I’m currently in the grip of an all-consuming lust for one 😍
Man…really was tempted by this but ended up with an X3 M40i (I know that’s not a direct competitor). The added space and advanced tech in the BMW sold us, even though the 2.9 in the Alpha is just a beast.
You made a great choice with the X3 M40i trust me Alfa Romeos build quality sucks and NVH is really bad when going higher speeds.
@@hzfitnesse3799 Jeez. Stop haha 😄
@@hzfitnesse3799 BMW is totally unreliable with plasticy engines....
Three amazing performance SUV reviews for three days in a row! FABULOUS!!!
Holyyyyy, i love the colour
Hell yeah! Glad to see that this one comes with all four rifoglios
Sadly, I can only afford a Trifoglio
Say what you will about BMW/Audi/M-B, all amazing in of themselves BUT I want a drivers machine and not an ipad on wheels. A-R is a drivers car and the best looking car on the planet. FTW ( FYI I have a '21 Stelvio Sport Ti 2.0, 18 months into it and flawless).
That paint is insane
very fair review...want one in smurf blue
Not a CUV guy at all, but it's gonna be interesting to hear how fun the Dodge Hornet is to drive. I'd definitely drive the kids to soccer practice in this though.
14:26 - I saw 1.15G lateral acceleration? In an SUV? That is impressive.
With your launches, did you go into the performance pages to see what your 0-60 times were??
Hey man are you going to review the Hyundai Elantra n on the track? I remember you saying you were a while back
Gorgeous spec but idk if I could personally ever justify the price tag given the Macan and a few others that exist with the same or more “umph”, atop its potential reliability. Stellantis has some real work to do given the interior-namely switchgear, but otherwise, I wouldn’t doubt its driving characteristics being sublime. - Dope POV as always. 🔥
I love mine, no regrest 😎💪🏾👍🏽
the exhaust sound is so addictive, what one soo bad... soon
You NEEEEEEED to review a trackhawk again but this time driving in the streets 😫🙏
My neighbor had one of these. Every time he's come home I'd make sure to listen for the amazing engine note. That said, I also saw it leave on a flat bed truck countless times. Definitely worth it though.
YOu probably saw the only Alfa Romeo built after 1989 to "leave on a flatbed countless times", congratulations
How do you feel about this vs X3 M40i ?
Good job saving that squirrel, dude!
lovely SUV!
Saludos desde México 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽 los Mochis Sinaloa alv compa..!!
Almost posted my video on this today 😂 Unfortunately was black on black and not this stunning green.
Is the gear shift harsh? It sounded rough when you enter the highway
Do you prefer this over the Giulia Quadrifoglio?
Bet you can fit a ton of spaget in there :O
Debating whether I should go for a used Stelvio or wait for the upcoming Tonale crossover. Both are Alfa, but which is better in your opinion?
The Tonale is a smaller segmend and its not driver focused like the Stelvio.
In my opinion, if you care about performance at all, get a Stelvio. Personally the only Tonale i would get is the PHEV version, and that is only worth it if you can charge it in your garage daily. The Tonale PHEV, yeah sure, 280hp, AWD (though front biased, not like the rear biased Stelvio AWD), and much much cheaper especially in places like Europe with the severe CO2 taxes the Stelvio gets.
We have a 2 liter stelvio q4 and it's pretty quick, couldn't imagine the quadrifoglio
My dream car
Wow, always wanted a performance SUV but didn’t want to pay so much this is the best used option
oh thats intoxicating power, the way that steering wheel went, would of had me feeling flushed 😂💀💀. I'll stay within 300 hp range.
Are you going to do the 2.0?
I live in the Metro Detroit area. Trying to get a rwd drive car. Is all season enough for the type of winter we get here?
Having also lived in Detroit I suggest you get winter tires, preferably in a smaller wheel diameter to soak up the crater impacts.
The Stelvio comes only as AWD with a rear bias, performance winter tires are a must. Factory tires are summer Pirreli's
Surprised that premium fuel is only recommended, and not required. It says it’s required on my Lexus
I actually considering this car lol.
Anyone that talks shit about Alfa’s (new ones not the 70s models) just hasn’t driven one. They are absolutely unreal in steering feel/directness and you feel like a god in corners.
If only manufactures would make wagons instead of hatchbacks on stilts...that color is PIMP'N
I wish for this every year 🎉, but no luck for it to come true😢
The QV or 22 Macan GTS?
Why is this called an SUV? I think 4runner and lexux gx and lx models when I think suv. Its over 100k though
It may just be me but alphas have always sorta felt like S type Acura’s steering when it comes to steering.
Ever driven an actual one?
Mmm...not in my opinion. Alfa steering is on another level. Japanese cars have very little feel.
is it just me that it anoys when people put ALPHAS its Alfa
@@MCRM_Finnegan I think it's two n's in annoy. Noone is perfect I don't really trip over Internet grammar.
@@joeblacc8573 yeh my spelling has always been awful due to my conditions something that i have tried for years and even now at 21 it is still god awful its better than it was atleast
is it reliable?
The name of this car sounds like I'll summon a demon by saying it
Ok, so what happened at 14:09?
Squirrel is for the brake test
Stunt squirrel, he’s on payroll 😂
Drive the Giulia QV
Active Assist Package. Glad i get all those features standard on my car, $1495 ridiculous on a car costing $80000 to buy.
90k!. I'd take a Macan gts or turbo all day, that is if I could actually get my ✋️ on one.
Just looked. I guess they don't offer a Macan Turbo anymore?
@@peterprimes497 Porsche will go the hybrid or EV route, except the 911 here they say they want to keep as an ICE car. So in the end the Macan will be heavier and more boring.
I prefer the Alfa Romeo Guilia Quadrifolgio
no time stamps :(
This smallish alfa is dated and expensive. Few dealers available to service it when it breaks. But they’re fun to drive. No word on a redesign/refresh.
There's gonna be a facelift in 2023
@@stefanomarchi3542 👍
When it breaks yeah, just like its competitors.
@@stefanomarchi3542 it is awesome btw, great job Alfa
It is an absolutely beautiful car, classic attribution to Italian design, but at the end of the day, it is still an Alfa, and likely suffers from the classic Alfa symptoms
Some people suffers from the classic stereotype-repeater symptoms. Really just inform yourself first, there are plenty of sources like whatcar, driverpower, autoexpress, carthrottle just to name a few, that show that Alfa is not more or less reliable than others. Japanese cars apart.
@@DonViToCRLNE Love this! 🤣
woah
The SUV is nice but, not $92k nice.
Cool car, but the asking price of $90K is a bit too much.
Really? Just about keeps up with outhandles the Urus.
@@thomasferrarojr.9772 The speed limit on local streets are 25mph and the highway is 65mph - what does it matter if it keeps up with a Urus? Everybody is doing the same speed regardless. When would you get to experience the amazing handling? On the way to Walmart? The only one driving these things are soccer mom's whose husbands have money.
Your comment is so ridiculous it's not even funny. So nobody drives their car in a spirited fashion because of the traffic safety laws correct? I have a 911 GTS as well as the Stelvio Quadrifolio and the Stelvio is my daily driver. I drive the Stelvio up through the canyons in Arizona and keep up with supercars. But, apparently you have more insight than I do. 🙄
@@thomasferrarojr.9772 What do you mean 'keep up' with the supercars. None of them are speeding at 200 mph in the canyon. They are all doing the speed limit because they don't want to get pinched by a cop. Even a Mini Cooper can easily keep up. Get with reality.
the interior is creaking way too much
Time stamp?
@@Mahi-ke7xr wear headphones and watch the whole driving part.... Such creaking gets hella annoying when driving without music etc especially on a new car but then again this is basically a toy.
@@VG22. I did and I didn’t hear one bit of creaking not sure what you’re on about
it’s probably the pebbles being kicked up or he had the seat on its lowest setting and the sides of the leather seats are rubbing against the center console. got a 2020 giulia ti sport carbon and the interiors are actually built pretty solid believe it or not and it’s not even the QV, the plastics don’t creak when pressed on. compared to one of its competitors the c300 w/ amg package, i drove one for a couple of days and that center console would creak like crazy over small bumps and you’re able to kinda bend the center console cover if you pressed hard enough - similar plastic quality compared to my old 2012 elantra gls.
@@Mahi-ke7xr nevermind. Its okay.
Wonderful driving SUV.
However the interior is a snoozefest to put it mildly.
Really? How so? Beautiful design.
@@thomasferrarojr.9772 Just look around. The design is muted tame and bland. I'm not saying it has to be Star Wars like a Benz interior but with all the flair of the outside the interior is a stark contrast. Giulia Quad as well. If I'm spending 90k I don't want it to look like 40k. The Gti interior is better than this(design wise).
@@joeblacc8573 Umm..I wholeheartedly disagree that a GTi has a better interior. And i love the overall, cohesive design. But ok. 👍🏼
@@thomasferrarojr.9772 Just look at the competitions interiors. Again this is a fantastic vehicle and the most dynamic driving SUV by a long shot. But it's a reason they're sitting on lots and I think the interior has a lot to do with it. Maybe the GTi wasn't the best example lmao
Classic interior design. Those other teched up newer cars will not age well.
they called the car Fuglio and then even added Quad at the beginning so youd know how much Fugli it is
Uhh..sure. The Stelvio is stunning.
You're looking at your mirror again..
@@fatgoose8983 Nice!
I was in love with my Giulia and Alfa Romeo as a brand, however, I will never again buy/recommend another Alfa Romeo in my life. I had the brake by wire system fail on me and it caused me to crash and total the car. They sent someone from Bosch to diagnose the vehicle and in the charts it clearly showed that something malfunctioned (brakes were slammed 2 seconds before the impact at 40 MPH and it took more than 1.5 seconds for the speed to start going down.) Stellantis told me that they were not going to take responsibility for it and that I needed to have my insurance pay for the vehicle. Absolute garbage. I will never recommend this car brand to anyone again! Buy an AUDI, BMW or Mercedes instead.
Wowww!!!! Wtf!! This cant be swept under the rug
@@Jmarzx I feel the same way! That's why I've been sharing my story. Stay safe and DON'T buy an alfa. Blessings!
@@aaronc1500 We don't mind at all, because you don't have any people around you who would buy an Alfa Romeo. Don't worry, Alfa Romro will not go bankrupt because of your recommendations, on the contrary, it has managed to increase its sales this year. CUORE SPORTIVO
This is why people lease vehicles like this, it's Maserati-like maintenance and the repairs get super expensive after 50,000 miles.
Stereotype bs. Do you have any proofs?

they copied the bmw's shifter...
BMW copied the whole segmend so what?
@@DonViToCRLNE do you have to be that angry just because I said they copied bmw shifter and im not an alfa romeo follower? like bro 💀
@@officialnotonlyjames i dont see where im angry in my comment. There is nothing copied (the supplier of these things is just the same, Magneti Marelli), besides of that show me the BMW shifter that looks exactly like this and dont say ,,theyre similar" because you can say to a car too ,,theyre similar because they have 4 wheels". And the germans were always the best in copying but no one wants to notice or simply doesnt care because theyre the ,,big brands" but then noticing some little bs in other cars, doesnt matter if in Alfas or Mazdas or whatever.
@@DonViToCRLNE "so what" also its called segment.
@@officialnotonlyjames starting to correct small mistakes is the typical strategy when arguments go out.
I didnt mean it aggressively, im sorry if it came off that way.
The engine is amazing, but i think that interior is awful for the price. And we aren't even discussing building quality or reliability (which we know is shit). It looks like a mazda inside (great at the mazda price point, not so much at double).
Lol stfu hater🤣🤣 even the germans say that the car is good and plenty of sources (whatcar, autoexpress, driverpower, carthrottle just to name a few) show that Alfa is not more or less reliable than others. Interiors like Mazda🤣🤣🤣 thats why Alfa won design awards for the interior and Mazda not rigth?🤣🤣
If this is awful interior i dont know what to say, i think vw has the worst interiors for me!
@@arthousemkd it’s a $90k vehicle. Ya it’s looks like a vw or Mazda but those cars are half the price.
Your saying this is great but ur baseline is a $40k car. That’s why we don’t compare a Toyota Highlander to an alpha.
Have you seen the interior of an x3m or a cheaper glc 53? Same class why nicer
