I came to this video to decide what cheaper wireless buds to pick, as I don't fancy paying a lot of money when I can get the same or BETTER quality in a cheaper and less known brand. Gonna check out more videos anyway.
I say he was right, and they should learn from that. You need to wear them for a long time, and annoyances (or worse pain) adds up fast. Those that only focus on sound and not the whole package as you should should be ignored for not understanding that every detail matters, not just the sound. If you don't understand that I would already doubt if the sound is any good, but no point in testing if the rest already annoyed you way before that.

This was made last year, there are so many better option now compared to last year. The Raycon were a decent overall pair of true wireless earbuds last year, but there are so many better options now for far less that they don't even compare anymore. Although there were a lot better options in this video as well imo. So I'm not sure what exactly this dude was on.
This was made in July last year though. Raycon is really fine if your competition is cheaper earbuds (and there are tons of them), and its not the cheaper e25 too. Although really guys, just pony up abit for Galaxy Buds somehow. You can probably find it from someone's bonus package somewhere and it beats everything over there. GearX (2018) is probably fine too although battery life is probably big concern here (although it makes you able to put in music directly).

One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

If somebody likes Raycon's sound all they need to do is crack up the highs and lows up the ass on an equalizer, and they will actually get better sound since the hardware will be more capable. Taotronics are good headphones.
I tried Taotronics and they were awful in every way: they hurt my ears after 10 minutes of wearing (I tried all sized tips), the battery drained really fast when not using, gave a strong static sound with ANC, and had unreliable buttons. Very disappointing.

Can’t imagine spending hundreds of hours trying to design the perfect wireless earbud at an affordable price... And this random guy on the internet throws them into the trash with out even testing out the sound quality
So during my uni I took a part-time job in this small company that makes things for really affordable prices like power banks, USB cables, earphones, etc. Anyway, there's really almost zero research and designing that goes into these things. So what the "R&D" team does is look for manufacturers that produce these things for the lowest price. Then the "design" is basically a rough sketch, which the manufacturer would render and is rarely ever rejected as long as it works. Then, off to production it goes. It gets put up online and sold. For obvious reasons I won't really tell you the brand(s) of what these are. Essentially once the product is out for sale, no one in the "R&D" ever goes to even check how it's doing. In fact, when it does get produced, we would usually get like free a bunch that is brought to us in a plastic bag and anyone could just grab one or two. Or none. Everyone would take one generally to give away to their aunt/uncle/grandma/grandpa. Almost no one uses our own products.

Build quality is for sure important but it definitely shouldn't have been the first thing they tested - the taotronics have superb audio quality but they're built kinda cheap so they got rejected Also soya chill lol
There's so many options that it's not worth testing audio quality when you can get the best of both worlds for cheaper 95 percent of the time. These all use the same drivers judging from the price point, so there's a good chance they all sound exactly the same.

Btw Mifo o5 are best earbuds I've personally tested and I've tested loads of them, before making my decision. They're smallest(I'm a 181 cm dude if you're larger/really big ears maybe too small for ya) most comfortable buds I've ever had, battery life is amazing, range is amazing, they sadly have an issue of reconnecting once every 3-4 hours for about 3 sec not a massive problem though all things considered, annoying buttons layout/size is a clear minus but after a bit you're getting used to it, but at the same time this dude voted 3 out of 4 with absolutely NO volume controls at all! Wtf? don't listen to that him and seriously consider Mifo they're better, especially comfort wise than much more expensive Jabra 65t active. Btw use equaliser with any of those sound signature out of the box from any of true wireless buds is always rubbish.
Buy the B&O e8’s and some comply foam tips. Probably the sennheiser ones are also equivalent, if they support the comply tips. B&O fixed all the issues via an update and the EQ app is quite nice and easy to use.

Paradoxically, I prefer headphones that have just Play and Pause, because then I can't accidentally skip to next or previous track. I have my Xiaomi redmi airdots on me right now, they cost around 20 bucks and they are great, they have the same internals as the more expensive Mi variant, they're just build out of lower quality plastic and with physical buttons instead of touch controls. Otherwise the drivers and the circuitry are the same. And I love them. And I'd rather sacrifice comfortability for battery life, another thing they forgot about. And all the controls I have are: Play/pause Voice assistant Start/reject a call End a call Switch between headphones and the phone when calling That's it. And I'm OK with that. I'm actually very happy about that.

Ear nuggets are bad in general, you can't even lie down on a pillow without feeling the pressure because they are so big. Its going to be at least a year before they catch up to apple, the airpod clones come out at a furious rate but they still haven't matched the battery life yet. So at this point Taotronics TT-BH072 type necklace headphones still are the best compromise, small earbuds, apt-x HD, 14 hour battery life, it just works while the ear nuggets just are all still not quite there yet.

For what's its worth I had a pair of Taotronics 53 and really liked them. They were one of the buds that didn't make it past the first round. They were comfortable, stayed in my ear well, held their charge for a long time, nice compact charger with LED lights to indicate how much power was left, and sounded good over all. Unfortunately I lost one of the earbuds this week, which what brought me to this video.
yeahhh my in case was mifo o5 that was dropped as well... for me the real need is to use a light weight buds that really keeps charge for long long time, mifo o5 did the job of a entire work day 10 hours in office very well, and plus the case hold over a week i always charge once peer week, after 2 years or even more i dropped one (this one get dropped some times already) and got dead, soo i was wanting to pick a new one, check has gen 2 and bought, but gen 2 has a design flaw that is fucked hurt to me, cleanning it is trick and i put dirt into it gotting a dead bud really soon, the entire earbuds is better, but i accumulate too much dirty and cleaning is really a need in second place after long term battery, soo, kinda get sad watching this amazing earbuds get kick that easy LOL
I use them, insane value for money, volume could be a little louder but a volume booster app on my phone easily fixes it, but that could be an s9 issue as its quite quiet already, but android is android and you can fix it easily

I understand that fully testing all of them would have taken way to long, but just kicking them out of the test because of how the feel in your hand is kinda defeating the point of the test right? Sound quality is not 1#. Bc majority have the same sound or close to. I nvr need to put any pair on the highest setting ever. Comfort/Battery life is #1. Sound quality would be at the bottom somewhere.
I'd like to see the smallest one possible (it can just run browser stuff at most) and one that would have some sort of minimum requirement for gaming as a separate build.

I can add that from experience JBL has awesome customer service. I picked up a pair of the Free Xs and had an issue after a month or so in which the right side earbud was cutting out. I contacted their customer service and they immediately sent me a shipping label. So I sent the earbuds in the mail and within a day of JBL receiving them they determined it was a defective set, and mailed be back a new pair. Haven't had a single issue since receiving them.
If you care about sound quality but not about convenience, you're probably using wired headphones rather than earbuds, wired or wireless, especially if you're on a budget.

Well, I can see how compfort is important, but who cares about the box? It‘s approximately as important as the quality of the manual! Compfort is highly subjective btw. They should have checked for sound quality and connectivity issues first.
@RARAYAYA RAA that'd depend on the headphones in which you're using. Ik personally I can wear my main headphones all day no problem. They cover your ears completely, they don't touch your ears and they grab on well enough for you to not even feel the band, gets to the point in forgetting you have any on
Or they're reasonable enough headphones, if overpriced. They don't need to cater to sponsors. Remember what happened with Tunnel Bear? They completely denounced them as a sponsor after they were bought by a shitty company that didn't match with Tunnel Bear's original values.

Been using Tozo for a while, they are pretty good, only drawback would be the audio quality of the mic. For music its really good. Tozo has helped me in cutting of the annoying calls, since most can't hear me talk.
@@MrALPHAVILLE67 Actually they sound pretty good tbh. They don't sound as good as my Beyerdynamics Custom One Pro but they are way more compact the battery lasts me more than a week of use every day. The sound is pretty balanced not extremely base heavy which is great because I listen to a lot of Metal. And they are even great on Android (you don't lose any feature compared to iOS). So I call the 170€ an okay price if the Galaxy Buds would have been out earlier maybe I would have taken those instead because the In-ear fit is sometimes a bit better.

Sound is important but fit is even more so since if they do't fit and either slip out constantly or hurt after a short amount of time you aren't going to wear them no matter what they sound like.

How is the audio quality not the first deciding factor, I couldn't give a hit less about half of their factors. They're for listening. Give me a set with just a power button, with good sound, then let me know how they stack up. I'm going to be using my phone to change tracks and volume..

I still think my fave earbuds for price and quality are tozo t6s- completely waterproof buds and case, AirPods size case, wireless charging, and good quality for just 35 bucks
Got them a year ago and fell in love with those. My favorite earbuds for the same reason. A very excited dog at a friend's house chewed them 1 month ago and completely destroyed the left one (right one stood the test like a champ) so I bought them again on Amazon complete with a silicon case for just 33 bucks. Best value ever

Tozo are pretty good. Great battery, water resistant, case battery charges quick, and has wireless charging for the case. Plus they're cheap so if you lose them you won't have to sell your spleen to get a new pair

One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

I tried Taotronics and they were awful in every way: they hurt my ears after 10 minutes of wearing (I tried all sized tips), the battery drained really fast when not using, gave a strong static sound with ANC, and had unreliable buttons. Very disappointing.

So during my uni I took a part-time job in this small company that makes things for really affordable prices like power banks, USB cables, earphones, etc. Anyway, there's really almost zero research and designing that goes into these things.
So what the "R&D" team does is look for manufacturers that produce these things for the lowest price. Then the "design" is basically a rough sketch, which the manufacturer would render and is rarely ever rejected as long as it works. Then, off to production it goes. It gets put up online and sold. For obvious reasons I won't really tell you the brand(s) of what these are.
Essentially once the product is out for sale, no one in the "R&D" ever goes to even check how it's doing. In fact, when it does get produced, we would usually get like free a bunch that is brought to us in a plastic bag and anyone could just grab one or two. Or none. Everyone would take one generally to give away to their aunt/uncle/grandma/grandpa.
Almost no one uses our own products.
Maybe the ones he threw into the trash were not "the perfect wireless earbud at an affordable price". The ones he kept probably aren't either, but that's a different story.

Btw Mifo o5 are best earbuds I've personally tested and I've tested loads of them, before making my decision. They're smallest(I'm a 181 cm dude if you're larger/really big ears maybe too small for ya) most comfortable buds I've ever had, battery life is amazing, range is amazing, they sadly have an issue of reconnecting once every 3-4 hours for about 3 sec not a massive problem though all things considered, annoying buttons layout/size is a clear minus but after a bit you're getting used to it, but at the same time this dude voted 3 out of 4 with absolutely NO volume controls at all! Wtf? don't listen to that him and seriously consider Mifo they're better, especially comfort wise than much more expensive Jabra 65t active. Btw use equaliser with any of those sound signature out of the box from any of true wireless buds is always rubbish.
Buy the B&O e8’s and some comply foam tips. Probably the sennheiser ones are also equivalent, if they support the comply tips. B&O fixed all the issues via an update and the EQ app is quite nice and easy to use.

Paradoxically, I prefer headphones that have just Play and Pause, because then I can't accidentally skip to next or previous track. I have my Xiaomi redmi airdots on me right now, they cost around 20 bucks and they are great, they have the same internals as the more expensive Mi variant, they're just build out of lower quality plastic and with physical buttons instead of touch controls. Otherwise the drivers and the circuitry are the same. And I love them. And I'd rather sacrifice comfortability for battery life, another thing they forgot about. And all the controls I have are:
Play/pause
Voice assistant
Start/reject a call
End a call
Switch between headphones and the phone when calling
That's it. And I'm OK with that. I'm actually very happy about that.

Ear nuggets are bad in general, you can't even lie down on a pillow without feeling the pressure because they are so big. Its going to be at least a year before they catch up to apple, the airpod clones come out at a furious rate but they still haven't matched the battery life yet. So at this point Taotronics TT-BH072 type necklace headphones still are the best compromise, small earbuds, apt-x HD, 14 hour battery life, it just works while the ear nuggets just are all still not quite there yet.

For what's its worth I had a pair of Taotronics 53 and really liked them. They were one of the buds that didn't make it past the first round. They were comfortable, stayed in my ear well, held their charge for a long time, nice compact charger with LED lights to indicate how much power was left, and sounded good over all. Unfortunately I lost one of the earbuds this week, which what brought me to this video.
yeahhh my in case was mifo o5 that was dropped as well... for me the real need is to use a light weight buds that really keeps charge for long long time, mifo o5 did the job of a entire work day 10 hours in office very well, and plus the case hold over a week i always charge once peer week, after 2 years or even more i dropped one (this one get dropped some times already) and got dead, soo i was wanting to pick a new one, check has gen 2 and bought, but gen 2 has a design flaw that is fucked hurt to me, cleanning it is trick and i put dirt into it gotting a dead bud really soon, the entire earbuds is better, but i accumulate too much dirty and cleaning is really a need in second place after long term battery, soo, kinda get sad watching this amazing earbuds get kick that easy LOL

I use them, insane value for money, volume could be a little louder but a volume booster app on my phone easily fixes it, but that could be an s9 issue as its quite quiet already, but android is android and you can fix it easily

I can add that from experience JBL has awesome customer service. I picked up a pair of the Free Xs and had an issue after a month or so in which the right side earbud was cutting out. I contacted their customer service and they immediately sent me a shipping label. So I sent the earbuds in the mail and within a day of JBL receiving them they determined it was a defective set, and mailed be back a new pair. Haven't had a single issue since receiving them.

This needs a remaster. With the FIRST TEST being the sound quality. because at the end of the day, that's what you want.
First test is comfort. If they hurt to wear, I couldn't care less about how good they sound.

Been using Tozo for a while, they are pretty good, only drawback would be the audio quality of the mic. For music its really good.
Tozo has helped me in cutting of the annoying calls, since most can't hear me talk.
I have the tozo t6 they have good sound and mic quality.
I found battery life atrocious.

@@MrALPHAVILLE67 Actually they sound pretty good tbh. They don't sound as good as my Beyerdynamics Custom One Pro but they are way more compact the battery lasts me more than a week of use every day. The sound is pretty balanced not extremely base heavy which is great because I listen to a lot of Metal. And they are even great on Android (you don't lose any feature compared to iOS). So I call the 170€ an okay price if the Galaxy Buds would have been out earlier maybe I would have taken those instead because the In-ear fit is sometimes a bit better.

Nope. If they dont fit(form a good seal) you cant determine sound quality.
Sound is important but fit is even more so since if they do't fit and either slip out constantly or hurt after a short amount of time you aren't going to wear them no matter what they sound like.

How is the audio quality not the first deciding factor, I couldn't give a hit less about half of their factors. They're for listening. Give me a set with just a power button, with good sound, then let me know how they stack up. I'm going to be using my phone to change tracks and volume..

I still think my fave earbuds for price and quality are tozo t6s- completely waterproof buds and case, AirPods size case, wireless charging, and good quality for just 35 bucks

A very excited dog at a friend's house chewed them 1 month ago and completely destroyed the left one (right one stood the test like a champ) so I bought them again on Amazon complete with a silicon case for just 33 bucks. Best value ever

Tozo are pretty good. Great battery, water resistant, case battery charges quick, and has wireless charging for the case. Plus they're cheap so if you lose them you won't have to sell your spleen to get a new pair

Well he did sound test the final 10. Build and case quality was just the easiest way to knock out most. Poor quality case or fit will ruin your experience carrying them nomatter the sound
