err @9:20 ish; I didn't want to double post but your points about Etruscans-- Pretty sure they were Phoenician or Asian Minor Steppes-Adjacent to modern Lebanon. Their worship of 4 legged animals, animal husbandry mastery, use of transcultural beliefs and symbols. I'd say they're practically Proto-Mongol but Scythians were so far reaching with horseback riding without stirrups that it would be like turning Russia into the size of Germany. I think Scythians or people like them are responsible for the Beezlebub legend (Baal Zebub in Phoenician sounds like Lord "man named Zebub"). Because horseback archers BCE would definitely feel like an angry demonic plague from hell if you were the enemy. Arrows flying around... just saying.
@Emil Kovachev Oh...MY GOD! 😲 I CAN'T BELIEVE you ACTUALLY said that! 😢 I love Arith's beard, whether he shaves and trims his...or not. I accept Arith's beard the way that it is. For over 20 years I have studied the occult, anything old or new that was related to the spiritual, philosophical, the old customs and Magik. I have studied most all of the major religions and many of there branches in depth. I have never heard a better explanation or a more informative concept of the dualities explained and how they came to be. I am in total agreement there is no light and dark, there are need and relevancy.

The switch from POLYTHEISTIC RELIGIONS to MONOTHEISTIC RELIGIONS was done to DOMINATE, CONTROL AND SUBJECT HUMANITY under a so called "authority" claiming to be "good", but that is just a lie and excuse to use humanity for the bennefit of a few rulling class. It has been the most Harmfull, Selfish and Corrupt way of control and government in societies; so called "historians" would want you to believe MONOTHEISTIC RELIGIONS speak the "truth" but they don´t. They are basically speaking in favor of their corrupt masters who fund their research.
Left Hand Path is so much for me. It suits me very well while with my background Catholicism I was suffering for like a decade. The Left Hand Path pretty much helped me restore myself, gain self respect, self love and overall made me a whole human being finally feeling well. I never got rewarded spiritually or materially or anyhow in this world following the right hand path. I was never satisfied and abandoned myself but through symbol of Lucifer, the abandoned, the adversary, the light bearer I found myself !
Then doesn't that still make you part of the Christian tradition just with a different view since god commands, both demons and angels. This includes the morning star. Has divine authority over them. I mean if you did not like catholic practice I would gest as far away from as I could and not rebel against it by taking the opposite side. That's kinda like being in a narcissistic relationship, your stuck in it a victim but on your own terms I guess.
@@Purpleninjawv Not op but people who practive demonolatry don't tend to view things through a christian lense. Just because christianity paints certain stuff (and entities) as pure evil and says their god is in control doesn't mean it's true. Also from personal experience of catholicism and, well, not demonolatry but the dark divine the only abusive and narcisistic relationship i had was with the christian god, where you can do nothing right, you are supposedly nothing without him and you have to work against your consciousness if "he" demands so. Also he can can nothing wrong (no matter how abhorent his actions) and if you in your limited human condition fail to live up to his impossible standards it's all your fault. Oh but like he forgives you for being human with terms and conditions. Oh and I didn't even mention hell, "you send yourself to hell" might as well be the abuser's motto of "you made me do it".
I like it. Free yourself from the shackles of biases. Learn all things from all sides while honing your skills in as many theatres you can master to help become a leader to your community and help those free themselves from ignorance and embrace all. Not isolate most. When you only allow one vision it is easier to get lost. Embrace all paths and you may achieve your true self.
I am a man from the right hand path, the path of the light. But as a man whose thinking that has being greatly entrenched in western philiopghy for over 10 years, this video is truly exceptional for youtube as a whole!!!! My so called Inner Shadow / Shadow self (what I call my dark self) has been my subject of great interest for the past month or so. Thanks for the video!!!!!
Admittedly it took me a very very long time and large amounts of "soul searching " to truly realize that there's are no good or evil paths. Just the paths and how people choose to view them. A person bent on killing someone who did them wrong will not see their actions as evil but just. Or they'll see it as a necessary evil. I chose my path knowing full well it would be difficult and or lonely. But it's a path that , I believe, is best for me and my goals, be the earthly or... ehhh more focused on what lies beyond this earth. I choose to see the world for her beauty and serenity. Every act of nature is pure and unapologetically chaotic. I digress, I know many would see my future choices and choice in paths as selfish or insensitive or negative. But I'm not choosing this path with the intent to hurt myself or others but because it make me happy, pushes me forward and is constantly making me look at things in new ways this gaining enlightenment and knowledge little by little. Much like Thoth or Odin, knowledge is my greatest desire. Not at the point where I wanna pluck out my eye or anything yet though haha Edit: One could argue that my "sacrifice " isn't one of flesh and bone but of a more immaterial nature( familial connections, emotional attachments etc.) As I said, I know many who'd look at me with cold disapproval or would think badly of me, yes it hurts more than anything knowing I will eventually lose many connections, but its necessary to me, for my end goals. A wise man is a lonely one. The final challenge, I'd imagine, is whether or not I'd be twisted and emotionally disfigured at the end of it. A bitter old man filled with anger and spite towards those who looked down on my path as apposed to who I want to be. Will i give in to that final challenge and let myself become a husk of a man kept alive by anger? Or will I be able to stand fast, keep pushing through the trials of my path and maintain my ideal self? Im prepared to lose whoever and whatever I have to in my pursuit, but I refuse to lose myself along the way.Anyway, lecture over. Glad I found these videos as they've definitely helped me along my way. Truly grateful
@Maseer Ghorab I see it from both ways. I think I agree more with the first guy. I no my choices and the decisions I've made in life. And am aware of not only mine but of the ones around me. Personal.. I believe I am a watcher. (Biblically ). I don't want to intervene, I'd rather sit back and watch. I'm happy with myself I no what I'm capable of. , I'm more interested in the authenticity of human behavior. Which unfortunately you only get when they think no one is watching. You get to no people for who they really are. And mostly were all the same . Who we are on the outside sode. Wether it be at work, school. In the presence of other people. Is all but a perversion of who we truly Are. It's easier to be alone. As an infj. , I find a humbling peace when I'm with my own thiughts. Other people are just noise. In a sense. , I love people I like the life the energy they produce. But I also like me, my time is to re-energize to focus on myself and my light. Then i can illuminate others. Before returning to the isolation to re boot again
Stumbled across this video. As soon as you started listing the left way, I was taken back at how close it reflected to my own current self exploration, growth, search, and journey without any prior knowledge of any of this. Interesting.
Thank you. This video offers much sought after clarification. I gotta say, though, that I automatically pull back when spirituality is made too mechanical, technical or narrow and rigid. When Odin hung upside down to wholeheartedly immerse himself into truth, he wasn’t thinking “left/right” or “black/white.” He just took a sacrificial dive for ultimate knowledge. When Jesus went to the cross, he sacrificed all for the joy set before him. They followed their hearts, not paths, people, systems or “isms.”
I am searching about myself and what I want in life. This video really changed some of my thoughts that were negative about myself and that I was holding onto. I have never liked organized religion it just has been used so negatively over the years. I do believe in god as I have met god in my journey in my own special way. God is in everything on this planet and the planet is a symbol of gods beauty. People are free to believe in what they want, but maybe take a second look at nature and what was created, it is so special and amazing. Even each one of us is beautiful and special, we are only told by the television/internet/magazines/etc. of what beauty should look like. I believe in love and compassion, we have grown apart over the years, people don't seem to care about one another and don't communicate with one another. We all don't have to agree, but if we took a moment to listen to one another and understand that their view is their right, we may start to understand one another and compassion and love will guide. Thank you for this video. I hope you continue providing information that may help others on their path.
How refreshing! Grateful you came up on my timeline! People ask me what type of witch are you? I say I'm a Grey witch- there is no black or white - just intentions for whatever is needed. I Follow the old ways of my ancestors.
Two points: I am from Aotearoa/New Zealand and you alluded to the Maori view of dualism. From my understanding, there is the division of sacred and profane common to many cultures. For example, the head is tapu or sacred, whereas food is noa or profane. Both have their places. Food is always shared after a ceremony, in order to bring people back to ordinary reality. So neither are evil and they complement each other. In my study of LHP magical philosophy, I thought that the terms came from tantric practice, where RHP was the way of the majority of people and the LHP was the steep, crooked, harsh way of the few. Same mountain, different ways up it. So LHP practices like that of the Aghori in Hinduism or Chod in Bon/Buddhism are too rigorous for most. I think that a feature of LHP magic is transgression, being prepared to break bonds and blur boundaries in order to extend ourselves. I had no idea about the Etruscan and Roman connections, although I knew the origin of the word sinister of course. So yeah, a whole new approach for me, thanks as usual Arith
That which is order to the spider is chaos to the fly. Perception is everything. Seeking new perceptions staves off stagnation and brings wisdom. Wisdom is first hand knowledge gained through sacrifice. Gift for Gift. Nothing is free and the Spider must also eat.
This is an excellent video and explains good and evil and duality very well.. I am new to looking at the left hand path, and realise actually I have always swayed towards it by the fact I have never wanted to follow one particular religious sect or doctrine.. always said Ive never wanted to think like every one else. I have just started an article on the left & right hand paths and this video has helped enormously, and I will link it so others can use it for reference. I think its important to get this information out so people understand it
My profile picture is something I drew after first learning about the Dagaz rune/symbol. I had absolutely no knowledge of it's origin or any tradition as you share on your channel, but I was thrilled to find a symbol that, by my initial source of exposure, was described as representing the moment two opposites combine. It gave the example of light and dark touching such as during twilight. This fit my spiritual view of things better than either opposing or balancing forces such as what the Yin-Yang represents, but it still was not fully fleshed out in my view. I created my own symbol with the Degaz as the basic building block for it. Thinking in terms of calculus where infinite dimensions form a whole--more than only a monochrome scale such as black, white, and shades of grey.
Good talk! Like your other videos I've seen so far, I think it would take a lot more time to address a place where I would make a disagreement. Something you were discussing in general, that people often forget, is that it is easy to lump all the dichotomies into a single "us vs them" issue, which is part of the horror of monotheism and city religions -- the masters of bloated parasitic bureaucracies that make their living from just rhetoric and taxes. In this way, many try to lump white, order, city, good, and life into one camp; and they put dark, chaos, evil, wilderness, and death into another. Then they tell the people to choose one side, their faction, which stands for all that is desirable; and to look down upon or persecute anyone outside their faction, who must necessarily then represent all that is bad and undesirable. I was pleased that you dealt with each of these issues in their separate spectra and balances, even though the properties of balance and spectrum are found in each issue. For the people to return themselves and their relationship with the world back to harmony, they are going to have to learn to make these distinctions. Even for many who are embracing a new paganism, and for whole emerging pagan systems, this is a difficult step. Also: It is easy for many to feel superior in their "pure right hand" with clean garb, orthodox arguments, gentile manners, and social imperatives so long as times are easy, danger is far, health flourishes, and food continues to flow without fail from the farmlands their city has dominated and taxed by force. However, let calamity come, and hunger abound, and the wolf or the bandit stalk their land, and everything changes. In that hour, suddenly they want the ones whom they have despised, the ones who learned the unclean truths by getting dirty hands. Suddenly, the hunter, the healer, the farmer and the common craftsman are acceptable company and much called-for, and our "unclean" practices of natural arts, sciences, communions and associations with the wild and the dangerous have new prestige in royal halls and high tables. The irony of that hypocrisy is not forgotten.
Great video and explanation, thank you for being so much accurate! It's the first time I hear such a complete explanation and I agree totally! I would only add that the medieval habit of defining the left hand as the hand of the devil is in some way connected to the way Romans used to split the city in two parts. The left hand was used mostly for "personal hygiene" and for touching "dirty" or "dead" things, while the right hand was used for "social purposes" (even by Etruschi and Greeks, who used to shake the right hand) and actions like eating etc. So basically they didn't want to touch/be touched with the same hand they used to clean themselves (this tradition is perpetuated in the Middle East and Islamic habits). Of course at the time it could be very useful in order to stop intestinal parasites cycle. Today we wash our hands :-) But then, at the time, probably it became simpler to give the left hand a "bad" connotation. Beyond this, it's interesting to notice that even in paths which we could define "right hand paths" (as some Sufi paths), at a certain level there are "secret" circles in which the followers are initiated to the "left side", because at a certain level it becomes clear that dualism doesn't make sense. I just subscribed to your channel and blog because I am interested in the study of spiritual paths and recently Yggdrasil and a Wolf appeared in my dreams more than one time. Time to approach the Viking path, I guess :-)
I’m quite sick at the moment unfortunately, though I will have to persevere through the week. I appreciate your works very much, Arith, keep up the brilliant work.
This again expanded my horizon. Thank you, Arith! I especially appriciate the last part about the multidimensional (as opposed to bi-polar) world view. All the best from Germany!
The way I understand it is that we all have both a left and right hand. The ancients knew it was about balance and service to community. When a person uses their abilities (powers) for personal gain (beyond reasonable needs) or to harm others, there is always a price to pay. Developing your skills is part of being present in one's own existence. I think we are judged on how we use those powers.
I was born left handed and thankfully I did not experience the abuse of horrible people, but there were a few who joked about it in a good light. Arith, I highly appreciate your videos. I'm an open minded thinker with no set religion at the moment, and looking to settle down with a religion (as if I were settling down to get married and have a family) and I have struggled to find a religion that makes sense to me. I don't understand some religions with this lackadaisical, wild, and unbelievable stories from some religions. Your videos have been the only thing that makes sense to me, so thank you very much on your videos. I hope you keep making videos!
Thanks for doing this video. I'm pretty new on my journey, and I have a friend who keeps telling me I'm a left hand pather. I've always though the left hand path was evil in some way, but I don't do anything that I consider evil. I don't ever try to cause harm, and most of what I do is more concerned with growing. Now, that I've watched this video, I understand why he keeps saying that.
Onion Head yeah maybe you have a more primal power and that makes “normies” uncomfortable because of their bias of primal powered peeps... Marlyn Monroe imo is also a Primal Powered Person... Bruce Lee... ect... These people made nearly everyone think they were edgy, racey, bad ect to most of those around them in their own time... Just cus they have a deeper “unorthodox” power, way of being... It’s not learned. It’s core... therefore you can’t cover it... only minimize it... Best to except it... and be it. If you got a raw power... embrace it. You’ll be fighting your self soooo much less over your lifetime. If a outsider due to that and shaman like... wolf like... it is what it is... a nice wolf 🐺 is still a wolf. People just laugh at a weak wolf... over all it’s pretty true how people see the weak or friendly wolf... It’s a resentment of the core power... even if tame... the resentment is there... and you have little defense for it... over all. Except your wolf 🐺 nature and your automatically informed and energized to deal with the snarling of others... for example. Hope this makes sense and helps those who need it. It doesn’t mean to be a dick. To me it means... be your healthy you and stop apologizing for the fear others feel by you loving yourself... and living well. Witchy women and men... traditional gender role men and women... please take special note. Rolling solo or in a family... be yourselves... own this shit. We need more Priests, Priestesses... and more Dads and Moms to keep Western occultism alive and growing... Imagine a young Western woman having kids with her man is now basically evil... A Western dude becoming a Priest can be scene as building a Cult... If you really talked about those two things... they rub the modern people the wrong way so seriously it’s crazy... but that crazy can free you of soo much regret and subtle torment... What ever your truth is... make sure it’s true... then run with it... the right people and circumstances will appear and reinforce your inner truth... Sorry I wrote allot... Paulo Coelho said something similar... in the whole world fights to keep a person from being themselves... then later excepted them... That’s what I’m trying to say here now. It’s just at certain times certain parts of us are suppressed and others encouraged by elites for income and population management. I don’t say control. I’m not trying to spin it as bad... as in population control. It is just what it is... I think only conformity or true dreams can survive today... a true dream seams to me left hand now as a basic structure... If you research about Paulo Coelho’s life story you’ll see some of how this is true for him and sometimes those like him... Best Wishes, thanks for reading.
THAT was a ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY BRILLIANT video, Arith! 🤓 Great job! 😆👍 TOTALLY loved it! I just learned a few more things to put everything else into perspective concerning the subject of this particular video. ♥️
Very enjoyable, listening to your explanation of the inherent duality of our existence. This is a thought process that I do not have to struggle with to comprehend. Your explanation was clear.
Thanks for another wonderful video! My Mom (who is left handed) was taught by nuns in Toronto and they used to tie her left hand behind her so she couldn't use it in class.
I'd love for you to do a video on Edred Thorrson, Varg Virkenes, and Survive the Jive - your opinions on their interpretations of paganism, their works, and anything else you find relevant to that discussion. :-)
This is excellent Arith, it takes a long way to withdraw oneself from the manicheist prospective we are culturally flooded by. You made a very comprehensive video on a difficult subject to catch for many people. Only one thing I would question are the western only origins of the left hand path concept. I would advise anybody interested in this topic to read the Aghora trilogy by Svoboda, and specially the first time entitled "At the Left Hand of God" to get the mindset of the ancient vedic praticiens. What is commonly referred as Tantra and illustrates the spiritual practices of this very ancient and sinister path.
I want to let you know that I'm watching your videos everyday, you have been more helpful in my path than 90% of the places and people I met and went. Honestly.
In Greece, the dead were often built tombs/graves to the west (so to the left if you face North) of a settlement. I always imagined it had something to do with the setting of the sun as symbolizing the end of life. There was extensive contact between the Greeks and the Etruscans-- the Etruscan inscriptions discovered on the island of Lemnos; Thucydides says that the Etruscans were allies to the Athenians in Sicily during the Peloponnesian War; Etruscan consumption of Greek pottery--so I wonder if there is a connection between the two cultures you're playing down. In ancient Greek, there are euphemistic sayings to refer to the left hand (and to night).
I was born into the left-handed path, so to speak--I'm left handed--and I'm subversive by nature. It's important to understand that just because something is popular or traditional, that doesn't make it a good idea.
@@krissyramsey3934 either path is defined differently from one another. theres opinions & only one fact, you got to figure out which one is the right one for you
I just recently discovered your channel. I really appreciate this video. I think Daron R's comment speaks to what I'd like to say, but more eloquently and to the point. Thanks! Great video.
Well done Arith my friend. You have covered a very complex subject in a way that all can follow quite easily without getting bogged down. People like the easy route and so the concept of dualities makes it easy for them, black/white, right/wrong, good/evil, ahhh, if only life was that simple. Oh wait! A addendum here. Dp I spot a serprnt tattoo on your LEFT forearm Mr Arith? What secret message does it convey?
I am also interested in the tattoo! Maybe you could do a video on workings as tattoos? My own all have a deep spiritual meaning to me, however, I would really appriciate your perspective on this. Thank you!
Thank you my dear friend! I haven't baptized my snake yet, I was thinking about "danger-noodle" or "nop-rope" hehe. I'm planning on making a video about my tattoos, I'll pick some of them. Not sure when that will come out, because I prefer to focus on other subjects and less on my person, but I understand people also want to know more about me. In the future I shall speak about the tattoos. The meaning behind this snake can be undertood in the video I've done about Náströnd, which you already know ^^
Precious information, I appreciate your work a lot and I ' m impressed with your oratoric skills, English is not my first language, I was born in Romania) In 104-105 Romans conquered Dacia, and like this Romanian people have been "born ". Thanks for your video. CRISTIANA
Things I have realized about myself from watching your videos are that I am a pagan, heathen, and I follow the left hand path. Thank you! I am gaining a lot of wisdom and knowledge from your channel.
I write and throw right handed. I swing a bat and surf/skate left handed. I tend to fight with my right foot forward but it feels the same either way. I change my stance as the timing dictates. My life has been nothing but chaos. Perhaps there is no path for me. Maybe I'm trapped in the middle. I understand that this lesson has nothing to do with being right or left handed, but I have always felt at odds with myself. I am unable to properly explain my feelings.
The lesson was that you can use both to your advantage and that neither is wrong or right or good or evil. Maybe take the best path suitable for the times you're going thru and switch whenever the other 1 is more suitable.
Kjære vene, min hellige hatt.. This is (im still watching) so enlightening to me. Thank you so very much. Tusen takk min kjære venn, du er uendelig og umålelig. En sann veileder. Takk.
Thank you - this is a fascinating talk. Alot to take in and integrate into my path. I do not follow any leaders and I listen to many perspectives. I wonder - who creates the artwork that you use. It’s quite lush. 🎵
Thank you Arith. I think your videos on this topic (thursatru, left hand path) are the most interesting because usually undeveloped by other. I found few books talking about this type spirituality and are incredibly expensive !
Not all the Left-Hand Path doctrines have a world-accepting view, or phocus on the physical sphere. The Luficerian Temple of the Black Light considers the world - the three dimensional universe entirely - as an archontic cosmic jail, and advocates the return of the "chosen" souls to the formless and free Primordial Chaos. They see the Dark Gods of Chaos (from all mythologies) as the ones to follow, in the fight for spiritual and creative freedom. Although they don't deny life's pleasures while being in this dimension. But of course, the concept of "life's pleasures" is very subjective. And for sure isn't something that the Right-Hand Path doctrines deny either. It will depend. Anyway, great video!
Excellent video I'm just finding. When I first researched Asatru, it made it easier to accept that it was defined as a RHP religion. As I got further into it, I was taught that Odin, Himself, had LHP elements to his personality. So, as you say, balance.
@@garygnu4629 polarity doesnt mean the opposites cannot co-exist. Like a magnet has two poles. It's still one. Quit different from christian duality in which one of the sides is totally invalid.
Very informative video! thank you for making it. From an non dual perspective (Advaita vedanta/doaism/Universalism) your explanation of there not being a good or evil path fits very well, after all; good and evil are just concepts! Most traditional represented religions would argue differently ofcourse.
not going to lie really enjoyed this video! sub from the UK, perfect description of both paths!!! i be trying to hammer home how its not good and evil and how all these forces live and run within us all, you know left right hemisphere ect! good and evil does not exist when it comes to soul and spirit! its a human construct
Thank you! Great video.I personally do think we need both. There are some cultures with a collective mindset and some with individualistic mindset. For happiness we need both. Also we have two hemispheres. Needless to say how much we need😅. I think in some monotheistic religions was a problem with excepting female energies. Even what you’re describing is: good is in the city, order. And “bad” is wild, in nature, chaotic.Sort of male and female like in ying and yang.We need both energies in life to feel good.
Thank you very much for this great explanation!! I didn't know anything about the Left-Hand-Path until maybe a week ago... but obviously I followed it for my whole life. Not with doing Magick, for I am a very luciferian being thinking and daydreaming all the time... and this imbalance was the problem. I started meditating and went into silence... just to find myself being thrown into my underworld, my childhood trauma, my learned helplessness... Now it's time to get into balance. My center of divinity IS inside... authorities are not an option. Confronted with authorities and given rules, I tend to become quite rebellious 😂 I want to get my power back... knowing and never ever forgetting that love is the ruler of everything. But it's love how the highest-deepest part of my heart experiences it in its own way, given by God. Its not the "love" or "good" how it should be according to anyone else.
lol.... This is strange. Someone called me doing the "left hand path" years ago, but all I was doing was studying for myself. People are judgemental and confused about what they said to me. Now I know I wasn't left handing it.
Best Wishes from the Texas Gulf Coast, USA. Another well researched and presented set of information. I appreciate the effort you put into these videos and I appreciate the topics. Please do not get caught up in the Pagan Personalities (ref The Anarcho-Nerdist comment below). That is a black hole and I'd prefer that you invest your energies in more videos like this one.
Beautiful message, left or right is always had 1 head to decide and 1 heart to life.the practitioner move where the wisdom allow to explore. Much appreciate the video
Well this is exactly how I understand life. Thanks for this perfect explanation that life is between dark and light, yin and yang,... instead of the obviously polarising concept of good and bad, which is actualy rather social then phylosophical imho. Good and bad are experienced outside yourself in relation to others, not a universal truth. Of course there are things concerning the moral side of life but that is totally up to the individual or to a community. But that truth is only valid inside that individual or community (left or right hand path if I understood that right).
Romans themselves migrated from Troy, which is also was located in Asia minor. So just like Etruscans. By one of the beliefs Odin and his tribe migrated to scandinavia from Asia minor as well, through modern Russia lands, where some people of his tribe left as well.
Being a Russian myself I can say that during soviet times teacher also beated pupils(students) who wrote with their left hands, like my grandma as well. I was lucky that no one tried to re-teach me to right hand writing, so I stayed left handed🙃
I just believe in honesty, like my true beliefs and understandings, which is most peoples natural instincts, and how everyone would be if they were not indoctrinated with religions or spiritual belief systems. The main religious ideals i firmly believe in, is the Christian commandment of "thou shalt not lie", and the idea that God is the "God of Truth". This means i try to avoid lying to myself about believing something, as this would take me on a path to self deception. I also think Christianity nailed it when they said that "love" being the law - although i do not buy into the usual idea that love is limited to how it feels under beautiful circumstances. "Love" for me includes stuff like the anger i feel when someone or something i care about is threatened, and my "love" tells me i need to protect them/it, as well as the fear that may tell me i need to choose "the lesser of 2 evils", if i am not able to stand up against the enemy or dangerous situation. Our "love" is the force motivating us to do whatever we do, as without us caring about someone or something, we would not feel motivated to try to change anything; and so it can be said that "love" actually creates the world around us. Im not sure this is related to any religion, but it seems very logical to me, and as our "likes" and "dislikes" are usually based in some kinda logical beliefs and understandings, it goes hand in hand with honesty and truth, and peoples natural instincts. Nothing far out that i have to "stretch my mind" or "fight/subdue myself" to agree with. Just good ol' down to Earth common sense. Its the only way i am aware of that allows me to stay spiritually balanced 👍
This is the most comprehensive description I have ever heard. The catholic beatings for being left handed did not stop with you mother and sister they continued in the US through the 60s and 70s I know from experience. I could never accept the christian outlook on life even at 7 years old and denounced it at age 12 and lived a better life for it. (I am still left handed)
As a wicca woman, I think this balance between light and dark matters much more than the threefold law. With Sahmain we are invited to think about death, and we can work with the darkness inside us until the return of spring if we respect the eight sabath. I study a dark witchcraft book called "Forbidden mysteries of faery witchcraft" where the work with demons is presented as dealing with the shadows of our selves, and those of our enemies eventually. But a other part of the books deals with contacting spirits, I advice it to those who wonder about dark witchcraft and could fall in easy traps. Evil is not a less subject...

"The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other,as just as fair,And having perhaps the better claim,Because it was grassy and wanted wear;Though as for that passing there Had worn them really about the same,And both that morning equally lay,In leaves no step had trodden black.Oh,I kept the first for another day!Yet knowing how way leads onto way,I doubted if ever I should come back.I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence:Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled ,And that has made all the difference.

The shadow is produced by an obstacle and not directly by the light. Light itself, that is, transcendence, is by definition unlimited, so it does not cast a shadow. However, as unlimited there is the will to limit itself, to coagulate things, generating duality and the multiplicity of becoming.
The Aghora of India come to mind. They too have terms which mean left and right hand paths. The meanings of which are syncretic with these terms in Western Culture.

err @9:20 ish; I didn't want to double post but your points about Etruscans-- Pretty sure they were Phoenician or Asian Minor Steppes-Adjacent to modern Lebanon.

Not at the point where I wanna pluck out my eye or anything yet though haha
Edit: One could argue that my "sacrifice " isn't one of flesh and bone but of a more immaterial nature( familial connections, emotional attachments etc.) As I said, I know many who'd look at me with cold disapproval or would think badly of me, yes it hurts more than anything knowing I will eventually lose many connections, but its necessary to me, for my end goals.

An enlightened individual is a benefit to the community as a whole. it starts with the self and expands outwards.

Right hand can do evil things, left hand can do good things. Thank you for this great explanation.

One hand with the blade gives you style, but two gives you true focus and balance

This has become my top favorite channels

Thanks for doing this video. I'm pretty new on my journey, and I have a friend who keeps telling me I'm a left hand pather. I've always though the left hand path was evil in some way, but I don't do anything that I consider evil. I don't ever try to cause harm, and most of what I do is more concerned with growing.

So happy to have found this channel. Great video.
Thank you and welcome :)
Excellent video and presented in a fair format to not offend those who may have different views!
have always said I'm both Left and Right
We all are.
In Sanskrit Vedic culture, it is called VAMA MARGA ( left side path)
As you say polarisation of self and gods is essential; to defeat Catholic universalism
But abrahamic faiths believe in dualism.
Wow, I just found your channel and after 30 seconds I know I gotta learn what you know about
Dear Arith, I watched one of your previous videos yesterday and I need to say that you’re sexier with less beard. Thanks for the video :d
Hehehe, I've trimmed it but it will only be noticible on the end of March vídeos :p
Happy to have discovered this channel. Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much, I'm also happy you have discovered it :p
Thank you very much for this great explanation!!
I didn't know anything about the Left-Hand-Path until maybe a week ago... but obviously I followed it for my whole life. Not with doing Magick, for I am a very luciferian being thinking and daydreaming all the time... and this imbalance was the problem.
I started meditating and went into silence... just to find myself being thrown into my underworld, my childhood trauma, my learned helplessness...
Now it's time to get into balance.
My center of divinity IS inside... authorities are not an option. Confronted with authorities and given rules, I tend to become quite rebellious 😂
I want to get my power back... knowing and never ever forgetting that love is the ruler of everything. But it's love how the highest-deepest part of my heart experiences it in its own way, given by God. Its not the "love" or "good" how it should be according to anyone else.
Wow, this video made me have an entirely new perspective and view of what darkness is.
lol.... This is strange. Someone called me doing the "left hand path" years ago, but all I was doing was studying for myself. People are judgemental and confused about what they said to me. Now I know I wasn't left handing it.
left is strictness, right is forgiveness, the middle path is mildness
it reminds me of a statement from a novel: light is the left hand of shadow, shadow is the right hand of light
I caught a rainbow in my left hand today ! Thanks for the video and information
Maybe you should make a vid about the different left hand paths Arith Harger
I can never find any groups that follow it for some reason yet it’s so interesting
A conversation between you and Duncan trussell would be awesome
Best Wishes from the Texas Gulf Coast, USA.
Another well researched and presented set of information. I appreciate the effort you put into these videos and I appreciate the topics.
Please do not get caught up in the Pagan Personalities (ref The Anarcho-Nerdist comment below). That is a black hole and I'd prefer that you invest your energies in more videos like this one.
Beautiful message, left or right is always had 1 head to decide and 1 heart to life.the practitioner move where the wisdom allow to explore. Much appreciate the video
Super duper video man. New "student" willing to learn about the ol country stuff
Great video, and by the end realise that I've been choosing the Left Hand Path since my 10th anniversary, without knowing it.
Best explanation I’ve seen so far. Thank you.
I love watching the progression of the beard growth, it keeps getting more awesome in each video. Also loving the tattoos :-)
This is one of my favourite video of yours.
Somewhat related fact, Japanese drive on the left side of the road like the majority of the Anglo descended world, but not for that reason. It was so that samurai wouldn’t smack swords as they walked past each other.
Just a fun little lefty fact.
That's an interesting fact. Didn't know. Thank you.
@@ArithHärger Interesting video.
Beautiful metaphorical balance...
Exactly, love that poem. Thanks Arith always learning is the key, watch out Loki.
In Polish language there are many traits related to words left and right.
For right you have law, true, right(xD), fixed, checked n stuff, while for the left you have ignoring, weak, untrusty, pour and so on.
@Arith Lots of love to you my brother. Shall the true set us free ✌see ya from Brazil
You have an excellent channel ! I' m glad to have found you today !
