Another reason why this movie is so amazing is because the side characters are fantastic. All of them. Especially The teacher (Mr. Morgan), the father and Ms. Perky the counselor. They are so memorable.
@ProJusticeTV his death had nothing whatsoever to do with playing the Joker… he had chronic insomnia and developed a terrible case of pneumonia while filming Dr. Parnassus… he accidentally took a lethal combination of prescription medications… period. The joker was the most fun he had ever had filming a role and he enjoyed it immensely! the media would have you believe otherwise because made up crap always garners more attention than the actual truth. He will always remain an acting legend.
There were a lot of good teen comedies in the late 90's. 10 Things I Hate About You, She's All That, Drive Me Crazy, Can't Hardly Wait, Down to You....and so many more. Truly a golden time.
Her: "If anyone watches Dylan is in Trouble... you'll know the meaning of misdirection" Me: **doesn't really register what you said until watching a Dylan video right after where he literally edits in the word "MISDIRECT" while eating reeses pieces Me: "Ohhh yes I see"
It wasn't scripted for Julia Stiles to cry while reading her poem. It just happened during the take and they decided to keep it. Also, loving the blue flannel/red lipstick! Looks great!
listen, teen movies based on classic literature are MY SHIT, 10 things, she's the man, clueless, some of the best teen movies out there, but 10 things is by far my favourite! the comedy, the romance, the acting, the dialogue, the cast, the soundtrack, just god tier! I love that some of the lines are directly taken from the original play and just work so well! I love the physical comedy, it just makes it so much better and gives it so much personality! I wish all my fave commentary channels did this movie, and now that you mentioned dylan, i need that to happen as well i cant
16:37 That is Kay Hanley of Letters to Cleo who did the 10 Things soundtrack and her look was very similar to Gwen Stefani's but in the 90's blonde-fronted bands were ten a penny with Aqua, The Cardigans, Len, Sixpence None the Richer, etc
Looking forward to (hopefully) seeing more commentary about teen movies/rom coms from you from this era!! This is one of the first teen movies I saw where the adults had developed characters beyond just several lines as well, especially Kat and Bianca’s father. Much appreciated. Shoutout to my favorite characters- Cameron James and Michael! RIP Heath
Yes!!! I absolutely adore this film and so happy to see you comment on it. I used to picture the boys I had a crush on finding me dancing my heart of to a groovy indie band like Patrick does with Kat when he enters Club Skunk haha. Julia Stiles is just wonderful in this movie, she gets the angst vibe so right and I love baby Joseph Gordon-Levitt and dreamy Heath Ledger. I don't ever get tired of this film and when I first watched it I was like 10/11 so the saucy guidance counsellor went straight over my head lmaooooo. Love the hair by the way Nic, looks lovely xo
I love Dylan Is In Trouble too! That's how I found out about your channel. You were recommended after I watched his videos. Great reaction. I also know every word and action in this movie.
About the dad using the teenage slang, I love that scene because he actually uses the right slang. Usually when you see that scene, the parent uses it wrong and looks like a goof. The dad using the right slang in the right context somehow makes it a lot funnier.
Honestly i've watched a shit ton of rom coms but this is probably one of the only ones to stand out. There are obviously things that i don't like and stuff that wouldn't necessarily resonate with audiences nowadays. But the palpable chemistry between Julia and Heath pretty much outdoes any recent romantic pairings for me. Kat did pretty much start my obsession with angsty female characters so well maybe i'm biased lol.
Awesomeness. My wife and I recently had a 90s nostalgia night. Got some pizza rolls, PBR, and watched this and Clueless. I hadn't seen this movie since my childhood years, and was amazed how well it held up as an adult, and how smart the comedy was. VERY well written.
With all the times I’ve seen this movie over the years I never really fully thought about Kat’s friend loving Shakespeare and the movie being based on a Shakespeare play. How did I never realize that until now!? Such a good film for commentary or just looking at Heath Ledgers face... or just everything about him.
So the teacher, Daryl Mitchell, 2 years after this movie was in a motorcycle crash which left him paralyzed from the waist down. He's been in a bunch since then, mainly TV roles. I mainly remember him from the TV show Ed.
this movie was filmed in my home town!! their house and the school are like famous monuments over here lol they're kinda the only thing we've got going for us
To answer your question, at 12:30 when he puts the levels up, it is doing something, you just don't hear it yet because he hasn't started talking into the mic yet
I loved the 90’s shoes. Like flatforms but better!!! I cannot watch A Knights tale with Heath in. Every other film I can, but not that 1 for some reason. Love getting notification of your videos, always cheer me up no matter what you are watching x
Could we at some point maybe September/October (spooky season) get a reaction/commentary on The Addams Family (1991 version lol not the shitty animated one) and Addams Family values please? They're not scary I assure you haha in case you've not seen them xo
Those are probably some of the best cast movies that I have ever seen, it's as though the actors were born to play their parts, those movies were brilliant!
I just watched this movie and broo it brought me back to such good times, 90s movies were soo goood!! 10 Things I Hate About You will be forever iconic
The entire movie was shot in Tacoma, Washington and the Seattle area in the summer of 1998, and yes that is an actual High School. It is Stadium High School in Tacoma, WA, it was renamed Padua in the film, been there a few times and walked the grounds, seeing the actual football field and the concrete steps where Ledger shot the musical number was unbelievable!
I think it's okay to swoon over someone who's passed away. It doesn't mean he was any less charming and gorgeous. I'm not even straight and I love Heath lol
The song you're talking about from 3:01 is by Aussie band Spiderbait. As a non-Aussie, I feel like they're extremely underrated but I don't know if they're more popular over there. Wouldn't surprise me if Heath was into them and suggested the song for the soundtrack.
The guidance counselor is played by Allison Janey who who was an oscar winner for best supporting actress from the movie 'I, Tonya' starring Margot Robby as Tonya Harding
Really great commentaries and you've only gotten better with time. I've mentioned before how much I appreciate you keeping the audio levels in check with no barely audible whispers or screaming. I just wish you could upload more often.
Like you, I love this movie. I just love the way this movie opens. from the 1, 2-1,2,3,4 to the these are the groups of the school. It just says this movie is gonna be fun. easily one of my favorite openings of a movie. And I've said this before this movie has John Hughes vibes all over it.
My favorite 90s teen movie is still Clueless. I watched it for the first time when I was in the 8th grade in 1995, and it's been at the top of my guilty pleasures movie list for nearly 3 decades lol.
The instruments on the ground is normal for marching band. They will be fine. The symbols did touch and they are hit against each other in different ways to produce different sounds.
They had instruments laying on the ground because they were at marching band practice. The band always brings their instruments to the field and they put them down on the field during breaks or drill.
10:30 He took the money because ... I think because he wasn't sure (or he doesn't want to admit himself) he liked her so much, but then finds out (he realizes) that he actually loves her. But I can be wrong. I only saw the whole movie once in 1999 or 2000 on VHS (video rental).

Hey! So I got a gig to shoot photos at an anniversary of 10 Things! 💕Got to watch Letters to Cleo perform, watched the movie with the cast and other fans, and just had the cast be riiight there in front of me. 📷 🤗 Proved to me that moving to LA was definitely meant to be. These encounters at most jobs continued after that. Anyways, I love this movie 😊 I'm glad you've reacted to it!
Nics&Nacs Just imagine!! What would you see? I was lucky enough to see THE DARK KNIGHT and The Incredibles as well in cinemas! My number 1 pick to see in cinemas would my fav film of all time, Blade Runner 2049!
Nics&Nacs YESSS I just rewatched the extendeds and for drama, we’re all doing the council of Elrond from Fellowship but in an Aussie way and it’s just 🙌🙌🙌 One day I’m going to IMAX for the marathon, I’m gonna need adrenaline shots to get through it!

Which 90s/00s teen throwback should I do next? Like other people’s comments if you see your movie so I know what you guys love the most ❤️
Please watch clueless 😍
Fast Times At Ridgemont High
Mean Girls or 13 Going on 30 please!! xo
The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
Dirty Dancing, cuz no one puts Baby in the corner!
Kat is one of the best female characters of all time, and yes, I based most of my personality on her *and I’m proud of it*
Another reason why this movie is so amazing is because the side characters are fantastic. All of them. Especially The teacher (Mr. Morgan), the father and Ms. Perky the counselor. They are so memorable.
Larry Miller is hilarious
this is literally my favorite rom-com and the movie i always watch when i'm sad. i'm so glad you did this commentary!
Good to know I'm not the only one who uses this movie as an emotional crutch.
I’ve been using this as my life. I lean on this heavily. It’s my reason
This movie is SOO 90’s in the best way lol
The only other movies are clueless and can’t hardly wait.
the fact that julia improvised the crying in her poem & that was heath’s genuine reaction🥺
wait really 🥺🥺
@@ughmeg yup🥺🥺
My heart man🥺 I didn’t even know that but now that I do it’s amazing!
@ProJusticeTV um..he’s gonna come haunt you😀

I can just see Shakespeare taking a ghostly bow to all the amazing modern day adaptations he's inspired.
So many! Thank you Shakespeare ☺️
Taming of the Shrewwww
Any other good modern Shakespeare adaptations?I can only think of this and Romeo + Juliet. And probably Lion King
@@cipangoreng There's O with Josh Hartnett, West Side Story, and She's the Man to think of a few.
cipangoreng shes the Man !
This is what "the perfect date" wanted to be but failed.
I’ve watched all of Dylan’s commentaries - that’s how much I love him. 😂🖤
If I’m feeling down I chuck on one of his vids and it puts a smile on my face ☺️
OMGGGG MISDIRECT!
i didn't know you watch Dylan In In Trouble ❤️❤️❤️
I have another type of appreciation for this channel
Dylan is hilarious 😂❤️

Oh, absolutely loved drive me crazy
Detroit Rock City was another good one

17:41 The comment about the weird looking “alien pupil”... there are aliens descending from a UFO on the left of the page
😆 So, accurate.

Yeah, it’s sad that all the other girl fronted bands got looked over because Gwen Stefani outgrew her band and went solo.
The blond chick singer bands went out of fashion by 2000.
I absolutely adore this movie. I watch it every year on my birthday. A forever fav
Great birthday movie! 💜
My daughter's name is Katarina, and still we quote that line
"Hello, Katarina. Make anyone cry today?"
