@@corvaliis well, they both didn't think much of the other: kat thought patrick was one of those weird assholes and patrick thought kat was "the shrew" but in the end they actually liked each other

Fun fact: In the original movie script, Kat wasn't supposed to cry while reading out the poem, but Julia Stiles broke character when reading the poem. And this scene was also done in a single take.
Its mind-blowing to know this, cause the movie wouldn't have been the same without the crying

10 things I hate about you is based on a Shakespeare play, Taming of the Shrew, which was then made into the musical called Kiss Me Kate. And while I absolutely adore 10 Things I Hate About You, it is a tried and true formula, just done so well for a modern audience.

This was Heath Ledger's first big role, with the help of her sister in the film industry. By the next few years, his career went on and cemented his legacy in The Dark Knight. We still miss you Heath, and this movie is one of the best romance and a modern day shakespeare

I know it’s based on Taming of the Shrew but they kind of remind me of Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Darcy from Pride and Prejudice except here mr Darcy isn’t awkward.

Great observation - I am a huge fan of both this movie and Pride and Prejudice, (especially the film with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth),
but had never made the connection.
Heath was such a brilliant actor, so sad we lost him at a young age. This movie is my absolute favourite.

He overdosed on a cocktail of benzos and opioid pills. He took some of this and some of that, not realizing that those therapeutic doses combined are going to equal a lethal dose. He had TWO different kinds of powerful opioids and THREE different kinds of benzos. My best guess is the most obvious, he simply wanted to get high and fall asleep, and experimented in really dumb way. He such SUCH good things awaiting him after the release of The Dark Knight.

After all these years it is the poem at the end and the delivery of Julia Stiles acting skills that makes it me adoring her more and more.
I watch this movie every year, one of my fav heath ledger movies (not to mention it has julia stiles, joseph gordan levitt, alyssa oleynik, and gabrielle union). I love Kat & Patrick. This movie is a 90s classic.
I love how during the movie Heaths Aussie accent slowly starts creeping in and his American accent starts fading away

i love kat so much, shes a softie on the inside. Shes such a comfort character, i love her personality. Her and heath had sm chemistry on screen its what made the movie amazing and when kat cried it brought everything together, i dont think ill ever get tired of this movie🫶🏼

I literally just watched this movie last night and I fell in love with Kat and Patrick's story instantly from the moment he laid eyes on her on the soccer field. I fell in love with Kat as a character bc I love her as having attitude of only believing in what she wants and not follow expectations from other ppl. I do find Bianca to be a brat, but I do kinda get why she gets frustrations where she feels like she can't live her life, but that shouldn't mean she should make sister feel miserable to follow what other people think.

Nice video. I think the fact that he told her about taking care of his grandpa was really significant. He obviously wanted people to think of him as "dangerous" and I doubt he would have told the truth about that to anyone else.
I believe this is the modern day version based on Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew. It was cast very well, all the actors did a top job with their respective roles. The fact that Heath Ledger was in it, didn’t do the ratings any harm either!
R.I.P. he was taken way too soon.
I just watched this movie for the first time and I really love it! They don't do romcoms like these anymore. The writing was surprisingly good and Heath Ledger was such a great actor even at 19-20 years old. He died too soon.

You will always be remembered as a legend.
This is one of the movies that I really loved watching over and over again back in the early 2000s. It really hit me in several spots. I loved it when I first watched it and I loved it every single time I watched it afterwards. Such a good movie for young ones being confused by their own hormones and things. Also, Heath Ledger just nailed it! And Julia Stiles was just amazing. I was so enthralled by her and her performance. She was such a great actress in this movie. She nailed every part of it perfectly. As a teenager your emotions easily take over all other bodily functions of yours and not only did Heath but also Julia somehow managed to make great performances, but they also managed to keep calm and have the targeted young audience keep cool as well.
Awesome movie, 10 out of 10 in my book.

When I was about 6 my dad used to ask me to choose a movie to put on on Saturdays, It had to be a movie we both like and it was this movie called "the patriot" of Mel Gibson, I used to love the eldest son of the main character, my mom used to laugh and say he wasn't that handsome and he wasn't famous, that character was Ledger, I actually found not long ago he was in the movie. Now I'm 25, and after 20 years still my type.
