Got a bunch of nice BHs in this match 👍 Felt like a good spin/hit ratio. A couple of good FHs near the end of game 3 too.
I feel like you could have adjusted tactically while you were working out your FH loops. Take note of when he likes to attack, where you can place the ball to force a more passive return while you wait for an opportunity to attack, etc.
Keep the feeling for that BH!

It did feel nice to get my backhand 'back' after being on the moon for a little bit. It surprised me a little bit.
Great point about trying to figure out a shot that'll create a 'passive' return by him.
I was trying to remember to his his transtion point, but my old habits kept creeping up. Seemed like he really had a strong forehand attack, but he defends (with pips) his backhand - he doesn't twiddle that often- That could possibly be the passive shot that'll create the opportunity!

If I recall, his forehand attack is almost always a forehand flick vs a high return. It's very impactful but it didn't actually happen too often.
If you review the footage, a lot of times when you block to his forehand side, either he tries to take it with his backhand pips or he blocks it back. I get the feeling that he doesn't really attack off the table with his forehand

      Also, that FH at 3:08...
Remember, if it's high, hit forwards (even downwards). You don't need to brush up for safety, just hit it down into the table 😁

Here's a really good breakdown for looping backspin with FH by ex-nat'l player fang yinchi
Notice the whipping action of his arm and how relaxed his wrist is right until the point of contact!

This has been an EXTREMELY helpful video. I was able to play off-the-record matches with an old friend of mine today and I think I made some improvements (hopefully).

Clearly struggling to apply the reversed logic against pips, which you visibly understand, but under time pressure tend to forget or not apply with rigor.
    Now for the good stuff:
    1. many good backhand flicks, even applying the pips logic
    2. at least one goal was met: variety of serve! Good to see the tomahawks entering the game.
    3. pushing with forehand against backspin, since your ts against bs is non-existent.
    4. Returns
    5. I also felt you were a bit more loose in this match.
That's 5 good points. Even though you lost 3-0, you are doing well in terms of levelling up your game.
As for your forehands, I disagree they are improving. They weren't that bad before either, but they usually work against moderate spin and with some height to work with. When the incoming ball has backspin and stays low, you put them into the net; when they come in high with some topspin, they go out. This was no different in this game than in previous games.
I'm not going to explain the forehand topspin technique against bs or block, you can find that on YT. I can point out that yours has no body involvement whatsoever. No leg transfer, no hip rotation, it's all arm and a bit of elbow (with good form though). Technically speaking your forehand is the stroke to develop "from the ground".
Recording yourself and exposing yourself to comments, is an amazing display of courage and THE accelerator for your progress. Even if me and others are comprehensive in our advice, you're doing well to extract the right amount and keep thinking for yourself.

Yeah, it's definitely not a dramatic improvement, but I think I at least am aware of a small footwork adjustment. It is very accurate/fair to say my forehand is still pretty bad.
