As proud new owner of little Jade-cuttings (never had a Jade before) - I can’t wait to check out your Jade propagation Playlist. Thanks for sharing. 👍 Cheers 🙋♀️ Martina
Are there different varieties of Portulacaria Afra, little leaf and larger leaf? I saw a variegated one at Lowe's yesterday. I have a big collection of little and tiny bonsai pots, a challenge for deciduous and conifers. Someone else suggested this plant for little pots, like you showed.
I tried these and was not successful first try. My other jades do fine, so I will eventually try again. My favorite variety of portulacaria afra is Kaleidoscope.
from a micro cutting bought in a nursery, i thought it was dead so i planted in a larger pot and forgot. I obtained plants 50cm tall with enormous growth. it is a very generous succulent. unfortunately mine is a "cotyledon orbiculata silver peak" light blue variety that has a powder on it and is opaque, also doesn't turn wood the trunk that remains semi-hardwood and rots easily. at the seaside in an alley I saw a jade plant (as big as a calf in diameter) cut off from a pot and left on the street. I couldn't pick it up because it was on private property even if it was on the street. I was sorry to see it abandoned like that
I’m a beginner & starting with jade. Thank you for this video, it is very helpful!
You're so welcome! did you see the other ones?
How rejuvenating journeys these are for bonsai lovers !!!
Yes they are!

There different varieties, but the larger leave could have been Crassula ovata
Un grand merci pour la vidéo!

Good luck! what went wrong first time?
Very fun video...some of mine grow much faster here in the Northeast US.....variegated grow much slower...
true, I have some of those and they are slooow. Our climate is too dark and cold here
In Madera these are used as hedges
if you ever come across an old fat beast of a trunk...
Why wire the plant in rather than placing some rocks on top?
wire is more secure

you can always knock the door and ask?
True, but i didn't 😅@@GrowingBonsai
These videos encourage me to grow tropical species instead of temperate trees in my area which is tropical...
yes, climate zone envy is real!
Why did you cut this with a knife in lieu of scissors?
dunno. Guess i avoid stucking scissors in the ground?
It's never occurred to me to put Jade outside. Also, having watched this video, I'm thinking my Jade houseplant could became a Jade bonsai 😆
:D not everythings needs to be a bomsai!?
