1)gently turn the key in the ignition back and forth
2) turn the steering wheel and after some 30 seconds it should work

hey thanks for the help, i have a 99 mustang and i just finished washing it and i pulled it into my garage to do the inside and while i was cleaning the inside and i accidentally turned my steering wheel and i wasnt able to turn the key and i got freaked out but this fixed it, thanks again.

On my work truck it’s unusually hard to free the steering column real pain in the ass thanks buddy
these types of steering locks render thousands of people stranded . as luck would have it they are in fact uncomplicated to diagnose as well as the bettered component is not very costly . We have a do-it-yourself on it over at my channel as well .

This literally worked!! Amazing.
If it's not The ignition switch, put a come along on the steering wheel, open the driver door and hook the cable to the runningboard or the frame, then rather the come along until the stupid steering wheel lock breaks and your good to go (this is a joke you'll break stuff doing this, obviously)
Oh yeah and if you have a ford ranger and the key lock is stuck so the key wont turn, put a wrench on the shroud that's over the key and break the key lock by turning it, it's made of plastic, once you've done that the key should turn no problem, the final step is to ask yourself why you bought a peace of junk ford, and go buy a dodge

Hey, this usually works but this time its not, I'm following the instructions as always but it just wont turn on

Man its strange, put key in ignition, steel bolt falls and i can move the steering wheel, but its still very very hard to move, and the key feels like it turns 60% in the ignition, but still blocked from fully turning
So freaking frustrated i wonder if there's a problem with my 2010 Jetta because ive spent over three hours now trying to fix this grabbing multiple people I know who have had this problem before but no freaking luck. So pissed because ive definitely had this before and it was easy, so its making me upset that this jetta is fucking up so hard
