I know ill probably get crap for this......but neither tolkki solo or stratovarius current can even match the beauty, passion, and overall sound quality that they had during this time. So much magic and passion and not to mention overall better musicianship!
Not really. But you have to know that almost anything is in its prime some time before it starts or sometimes right at the start. Usually at the start it's nice, flawed, but nice. Later it gets improved and reaches its peak, and then after that it has to change because it can't remain the same. Also, Koti had a beautiful voice back then, vibrant, young and dramatic. Now he sings like an old rocker, rough, and no resonance whatsoever. He still has quite a young voice for his age, but what made his voice once magnificent is gone now.... :(
que lastima por su enfermedad.. con kotipelto johanson y michael conquistaron el mundo. podran criticarlo lo que quieran pero kotipelto tenia color de voz unico no escuche otro parecido.. eso tambien hizo especial a strato
Sin duda una gran banda , para mí su mejor época era cuando tolki formó parte de ella , imposible de olvidar discos como episode, visiones , Destiny e Infinity, marcaron su mejor época, ese toque neoclásico los hacían único , sin duda q tolki es un cerebro a pesar de su locura
This is a good example of why Kotipelto had a hard time reaching the vocal tones he recorded in the studio. This song is precisely very vocally demanding, very difficult.

I like Kotipelto because he has (or at least, had) the right feeling for this kind of song. I think that compensates for his instability live.
