  • In this Ott’s Garage video we make a modification to my 360 I always do. The shaft for 360 is longer than I like for my 45” shaft Ultrex. By doing this it allows you to have some freedom of movement vertically with your trolling motor with having to move 360 every time too. Just watch closely and follow along if you’re going to do this as well!
For any of the gear I use all season long you can get it here: www.basspro.com/SearchDisplay...

Ott just a heads up…a plumbers pipe cutter will make quick work of this, leave a clean end (no burrs) and you don’t have to worry about nicking the wires. Take a about 1-2 min tops to accomplish. Hope this helps for the future.

That was my first thought as well

@@btmbass8558 I thought the same, but...will the connectors pass through the piece that you've cut-off?

Used angle iron to protect the wires on mine when I cut it down.

Ott a tubing cutter would work perfectly for this

I ordered the universal one that’s about 6 foot long!!! I cut it down with pipe cutter. It took awhile but got the job done!!! Whatever it takes huh???

Must be nice to have one. I’ve searched for two years and can’t find one

Great job! Yeah a tubing/pipe cutter would not work well on that material.

It most certainly would if you use a pipe cutter and not a tubing cutter. They make cutters for black iron pipe. Plumber 45vyears.

Nice tip about the 360 shaft length as I didn't thing of this. You had me nervous with those wires so close to the Saws-All blade. I would suggest getting a pipe cutting tool to avoid those wires all together. Murphy's Law

Do you know of a way to mount the 360 to a Terrova trolling motor?

I've had Mega 360 for a year now. Half the time my screen is covered with random lines in the outer rings as it spins at any speed. Even when I get a clean picture, I can't make out anything. Mega down imaging is Amazing. But I can't see what I see on DI, on Mega 360. Like brush piles ect. Dealer says they hooked it up fine. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sounds like you have interference with other imaging pings. Try putting them into standby and see what happens.

Sorry that's a carbon tube the pvc would not work well. Trying to would almost win a Darwin award.
