well while what happened isn't easy to forgive, there could be teams out there interested in his services. I remember a few teams last summer rumored to have been seeking interest which despite this controversy, I also don't blame them cause nothing can erase the fact that he did single handedly revive the blackhawks and turned them into champions which is something not many coaches can do. Teams could be desperate to follow in those footsteps if they're trying to get over a hump of sorts. To be fair too before this whole Kyle beach scandal, Quenneville was never the subject of any major controversy and while this absolutely doesn't absolve him or anyone else of wrongdoing, McDonough was the ring leader who told everyone including quenneville to leave it alone and let him take care of it only to go back on his word and not do anything at all to try and protect locker room chemistry with the main club. I am not defending him by any means i am just breaking down the cold hard truth behind what could or couldn't happen @@helloimshawn

I remember watching the Leafs in the era Joel Quenneville play ed. The 1978 team was very close to becoming a Stanley Cup Championship team. The team just needed to tweak the group with a couple key additions. It would have put them over the top to become Stanley Cup Champions. However, the eccentric IDIOT Harold Ballard owned the Toronto Maple Leafs at that time, and was too CHEAP to spend the money 💰💰 to improve the team for a deep playoff run. Harold Ballard ruined the organization and it is taking over 50 years to get it back to where it is now. I would love to see Joel Quenneville, as the Leafs Head Coach, and Bruce Boudreau and Craig Berube as Assistant Coaches. GO LEAFS GO!!!!❤❤❤

Well it technically isn't his first time speaking publicly since October 2021. In August last summer he did briefly say some kind words to Hossa on Hossa's instagram story before Hossa hosted that good bye game. Idk if that is the same idea but either way technically that was when he spoke on camera for the first time since october 2021
I wonder if hes waiting in the wings ...hear me out ...we struggle a little with the core 4 . Taveres contract expires and we use it on an elite level goalie instead . Around this time we replace Keefe with Q. 🙏

I am a HUGE LEAFS FAN... Joel Quenneville he was a great, steady stay at home defense man. He was not a flashy player, but he was dependable. As a coach, he is a great coach. The greatest coach of ALL time is Scotty Bowman, he won 9 Stanley Cups: 5 with Montreal Canadiens (BLAH!!!!!) 3 with Detroit Red Wings and 1 with Pittsburgh Penguins. That's why Scotty Bowman is the GREATEST COACH OF ALL TIME!!! As Paul Harvey used to say, "Now, you know the rest of the story."

I was a huge fan of Quennville as a coach. As a player, he really didn't stand out to me. I want to hear what Q has to say about the Kyle Beach saga. Until then, I don't want that unnecessary chaos around the Leafs. There is always enough chaos without it.

Because its idiotic to want to see the leafs win? In all seriousness though Quennville did what literally any other coach and organization would have done at the time. This was not unique to the Blackhawks its what the culture was; sweep it under the rug let it be somebody else's problem. Of course this was terrible and I feel horrible for Beach and those players and its great that now we're seeing the culture change and sexual assault be taken seriously as the heinous act that it is. Joel [when he was with Florida] should have just said that he did what was standard at the time and that's it. I'm not excusing what happened but regardless of that he is the best NHL coach in modern history [his entire career even before Chicago speaks for itself] and he'd get the most out of the leafs. He should definitely make a statement addressing the controversy before his maybe inevitable return to the NHL though. @mshawn
