Greetings from Maryland! I am so glad you like my video. I tried to pack as much as I could in it. And, I chose Ukraine colors so that folks can make candles to show support.
I just found out about you today! So informative! Thank you for being so generous. I'm working on my black candle but no luck until now. Do you have any tips for us who are so desperate, please? :D
OMG, a black candle. In all my years of testing, I have gotten more than a few black candles from folks desperate. Black is the worst for clogging up a wick. Burning poorly, small flame that goes out, right? I designed a wick for black wax. Contact Fil-Tce, Inc. They make a 3.0 wick. Other than that, try to use as little color as possible.
thank you for these videos I have a question If you dont mind I have been testing my candles for months and am so confused What is an acceptable glass vessel temp when the candle is burning in 4 hour increments with wicks trimmed 1/4 inches everytime its tested I have been testing and Im just confused because some are saying 140 f and other are saying it shouldnt reach over 170 f this have been so confusing and I want to create a safe candle system but am not sure whats the right answer based on astm standards.Any help will be highly appreciated.
ASTM standard is 140F. That is the highest temp someone can grab something and not 'jerk and let go'. Any higher and someone will naturally let go, and spill the wax and it can catch fire. 140F will not burn you if you DO grab the candle. So, stay with 140F. You are doing everything right as far as testing. Trim and 4 hour. I have a testing video you can watch and I give all the standards required to get your candle in a big box store. Because, all the big box stores definitely stick with ASTM standards to avoid lawsuits. ua-cam.com/video/niZ9Ic5Be2w/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/ouuWH0aCXxk/v-deo.html Thank you for your questions.
Thank you very much for your time creating!
Really appreciate your work!

I always miss saying one thing. Melt until it is clarified when adding color.

@@GEOsustainable Thank you so much! A veteran chandler, like you, agrees that it is a tough candle to make. I'll check Fil-Tce but I'm in Europe :|.
@@MiMi-gm1js Then try an HTP wick, or a ECO wick. Those are 2 more you should be able to get in EU.

@@GEOsustainable thank you for replying 👍
@@applenb214 My pleasure. Leave a new comment if you have any more questions. YT doesn't alert me to replies.
One more question what size of container and what kind of wick. Thank you
8 oz and 15 ply. Let me know if you have sound trouble. I said this in the video. I may need to up my volume. It is also listed in the description.
Now take that candle and get in the kitchen and stay there, LOL.
