This was Oprah’s promo tour for Beloved and Anna Wintour asked her to lose 20 lbs in order to be on the Vogue cover. Rosie’s hair looks amazing as well.
@@jv-ep2tc How? She's an academy award nominated actress, host, author, philanthropist, network and school owner etc..She's one of the few great Americans.
This was such a poignant moment on daytime television, or television in general. I remember watching this live on TV as a kid, and I was enthralled. Still am!
These two were the best daytime talk show hosts. Period. Oprah the professional journalist who knew how to engage you profoundly. Rosie the comedian who used her humor to make people feel at home and shows how down to Earth she is. Both different worlds but the perfect recipe for being great.
My two most favorite women bless them both they make me laugh cry and think what can I do to help others thank you Oprah And Rosie for making my life just that little bit better . Than it was yesterday thank you ❤❤
Oprah really looked her best in her 40s! I always thought it was pretty but she finally seem really put together, and totally confident in the one she was by 40! I just love her hair
THIS IS SUCH A GREAT INTERVIEW...Y'ALL BOTH LOOK SO AT EASE AND TALKING LIKE A PAIR OF GOOD FRIENDS❤❤❤ I COULDN'T HAVE DONE THE WOODS EITHER ,ROSIE!!! NEEEVAAAAHHH!!!!😂
Oh I'm enjoying this episode so intensely. I don't remember having this show available in South Africa growing up.❤❤❤ Glad I can connect to it now on UA-cam ❤❤❤
The Morning after,Princess Diana died. We were on a visit with my mom,for the weekend. We were stationed in Germany at the time. My Baby Boi was 4 and I was 8 months pregnant with my baby girl. We were sitting outside on the terrace, having breakfast. All of a sudden all the Churchbells in town started to ring,at the same time and would not stop. And I said, the Pope has died, because that is the only time,I had ever witnessed all of the Churchbells going off like that. We all got up,rushed into the living room and turned on the TV...... When I tell u,that we all cried INSTANTLY and were in such shock, absolute shock..... We stayed there for hours, sitting on the floor watching. It was absolutely UNBELIEVABLE TO US! She had FINALLY found happiness with Dottie and they took it all away...... FOR WEEKS AND WEEKS,I WATCHED TV....The outpouring of love....The funeral...William and Harry, walking behind their Momma's casket.... Heartbroken is not a big enough word to describe, how I felt. I will NEVR ,as long as I live, forget that morning.... 😢
This was when "O" and "Rosie" were authentic. Oprah had a movie to sell. This is why she waited to appear because: "I wanted to have something to 'talk about.'" LOL.
@rosie I don’t know where you ladies stand today but the chemistry between you two was always MAGIC. I hope you can have her on the podcast just to TALK. I adore.
I have one thing in common with rosie..we both lost our mothers at a young age..I lost my mom at the age of 13 and my dad at the age of 19..I'm a singer that never became a singer! Just like rosie I love singing and entertainment and acting..but rosie is a comedian and I'm not ..my son is though..he's young..and I'm only one year younger than rosie..⚘❤..my religion is very important to me..its called the bahai faith!
Oprah speaking like u gotta be your best after being a mom...she obviousley never been a mom...moms know tho ..there is no time to say when your going to be your best as a person...as a mom your on 24/7 whether u like it or not...sometimes good ..sometimes bad...u cant pick it oprah..it just is...
Hmm... It's all about choice. Just because we have kids doesn't mean that we can't be best at all times. In every situation frustrating or not there's always that moment when you have to respond or react to something ... In that moment the choice is always there to either react in a good way or not.
She still doesn’t get it. Whatever she wants to call the soul, if the Holy Spirit isn’t dwelling there, all the riches in the world aren’t going to help you on Judgement day. Find Jesus Christ today before it’s too late. What does it profit a man (or Oprah) to gain the whole world, yet lose his (or her) own soul.
Oprah looks amazing here. Her hair is so thick, lush and beautiful, and she looks really good!
Yessssss i was just thinking that like WOW in her 40s she looked so so good 👍😊 she's amazing love her!

Oprah is a beautiful woman
Andre Walker was her hairstylist.
Oprah’s always been gorgeous to me
I adore Oprah and Rosie. I miss those days. The world was a different place.
Oprah is too greedy for my comfort.
so true.
Watched both shows during those teenage days. World was definitely in a different place. Absolutely right!

Oprah has an INCREDIBLE control of language and that’s one of the IT factors about her greatness.
She also has an incredible way of buying up land after "natural" disasters.
Oprah and Rosie are two of the best talk show hosts who have ever done it! Love this interview!!!
Both women are brilliant
Oprah Big Back Winfrey is certainly great at being conniving, malicious, and cutthroat! 😁

This Era of Daytime Television was terrific.

Two female icons of talk show hosting, because, they're more than that: great humanists.
Rosie was so good. I loved this show and am enjoying rewatching the reruns with wiser eyes.
I remember this interview. I'm turning 40 this year.. it's hurting my brain a little😅
Hey fellow '83 baby! I turned 40 this year too. Happy Birthday, Michelle!

I’ve always loved Oprah. Talk about a living legend.
Thank you Rosie for these interviews.......they bring back a happier time in the world....and in my life.
Great interview and dynamic between the two….I need to see this movie now
I forget how comforting and fun this show was… thanks for posting.
I adore Oprah. I think she is the American Dream.
Yeah fuck that elitist nonsense.

The new Color Purple comes out in December 25😊Can't wait ❤Can't believe I haven't seen Beloved...😮
This was such a great interview! Rosie really does this…
I love how the band played her recently new theme song Run On when she came out.
You have taste! You noticed! 👍
I wanted to write Oprah a letter and ask her if I was gay when I was little. You have both always been a light in My Life.
I love their chemistry
Smart director to record Danny reaction shots when Oprah was not able to keep composure through the scene! Thanks for posting Rosie! 😃
I love Rosie. Best talk show host ever.
Two amazing women chatting.
This is extraordinary
Great interview, I love when the talk show hosts seem genuinely interested.
Not Oprah telling y’all when to go to break 😅
Seasoned professional!

Underrated film and performances. Love Rosie's thoughtful interview.

Wow this was 25 years ago
Rosie O Donnell was truly one of the great talk shows of the 90s
Thanks for sharing, amazing interview. I never heard of the book or the film, I will look up for them
Is this really Rosie’s youtube? If so, thank you Rosie for posting this!!!! The mothership section was powerful!
I miss the 90s take me back to this time so that I can stay there forever

Strong black woman.
Inspiring and fun TV, that made you feel better after watching it 👍🏻👏🏻

Oprah! ❤️
A woman of great strength and admiration.
She's a mother. just not in the traditional sense (nurtures the world)...
❤❤❤

Young Oprah Winfrey
20 something years later- Rosie is LIVE on my Tik Tok, and am like....... excuse me?
This was back when Oprah gave full hugs. Now she does that double high hand thing
This was when "O" and "Rosie" were authentic. Oprah had a movie to sell. This is why she waited to appear because: "I wanted to have something to 'talk about.'" LOL.

It’s so nice to watch interviews without an audience clapping every three sentences a la modern talk shows.
This starts with an announcement that the angel network helps the homeless, yet it continues to get worse. Our government just ignores the needy.
that was one dark movie

spoilers were not a thing in 1998 it seems
😄 The book was pretty well known then, to be fair. It wasn't so much what the plot was, it was how they were going to play it, that would be the pull.
Beloved was very different to my wife and I.. it didn't touch us in that way.. it wasn't horrible.. or anything.
I wonder what “fell into place” for Bill Crosby, when he turned 40.
This interview is not about Bill Cosby.
Honey.
The way Rosie was kissing up to Oprah about beloved, didn’t age well, because beloved turned out to be a major Dud at the box office

I agee! Usually, Oprah is really entertaining with funny, compelling stories to tell when she goes on other talk show. Disappointing.
