- An arranged version of "Zanzibar Breeze" featured in Metal Gear Solid: Integral (not the original version) for the PlayStation. To listen to the tune in the game, you must dial frequency 140.66 on the Codec when you first enter the Snowfield (where you fight Sniper Wolf for the second time). To my knowledge, this secret tune is not in the PC version of Integral.
This song is perfect for MG2, Big Boss's empire, filled with paranoia, it fits perfectly.

This is what makes Metal Gear: likable characters, kickass music, awesome boss fights, unique weapons, Solid Snake, Big Boss, Raiden, and Hdeo Kojima. He just made a shake of action, adventure, and stealth. :)

MGS has really good balance of weaponry. And then it came MGS2 with a cheap tranq gun, and then... in MGS4 Snake is equipped better than Rambo :(

Then the 20th anniversary version comes along and blows both completely out of the water.

After finally getting round to playing through this game via the HD collection I suddenly don't want Kojima to remake it anymore.
MG2 was SO ahead of it's time it actually holds up against the others if your willing to overlook the superficial things. After playing it for days all the gripes about how outdated it is have just been drowned by just how deep, diverse, exiting and just plain metal gearry it is.

Everyone talks about the sequel more than they do this game. This game became legendary in its own way that Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land is talked more about in the sequels. People only remembers Shadow Moses.

If you are referring to their icons from the Radio conversations, then you're mistaking, sorry, but it's true. In the original version of the game, Miller had a drastically diffrent design, he was represented as an Asian man in his 30-40 (maybe), possibly Japanese. Sorry if I sounded rude.

Actually, that art was made for Metal Gear 2 as part of Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. The original in-game art was different.

Madnar predates Dr. Wily so I'm not sure how does someone is "being" someone else who doesn't exist. Also Madnar is NOT "being" Dr Wily rather Madnar AND Dr. Wily are both "being" Albert Einstein. I actual hate that Kojima hired Gregson-Williams after MGS1, Konami's in house music has always been iconic and very few of the latter day MGS tracks were memorable the way this is.

In my opinions... How to make an awesome MGS 1 & 2 MSX.
1 - Contract Sylvester Stallone to make facial and body capture.
2 - Make a giant armor with more than 100 packs of cigars.
3 - Make a giant battle of metal gear 50 x 50, snake is young in this game, he has much force and will.
Master swings both ways, I guess.
Gray Fox is suppossed to be about 45 and Solid Snake 27, yet he looks a lot younger than him.

Actually Solid Snake in the original Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake looks a lot younger, and Grey Fox looks older.
This new artwork is done by Shinkawa, which was added in the re-release of Metal Gear 2 on the Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence game.

Listening to this now and thinking what MGSV could've been...... shame. I loved the ending and the rest of the game, but it just didn't feel..... Metal Gear to me.
Would be better if the game explore on Venom as character rather than simply be player's avatar. Oh, and like Peace Walker, all missions in main ops should directly contribute to story. V is good, if not really great when come to gameplay. But tell story by 'connecting the dot' between main and side ops is not that good for me.
@@Type03xx there's also the pretty empty world, cut content in size of a chapter, second chapter being simply harder version of most missions from the first one.
I wouldn't mind the latter, if it was a side like in Peace Walker, where harder AI battles weren't counted as story content.

This and MG1 deserve remakes. I don't see why everyone is hellbent on seeing MGS1 being remade for whatever future consoles lie ahead.
I was disappointed when MGS1 wasn't included in the HD Collection. They don't even have to do much work besides port the game as it is and rework the controls.

Am I losing my mind of is the main melody straight up "Only Time Will Tell" by Asia? That song is older than me and I only know it from MGS 5, so it seems plausible.

They say that Big Boss said he was his father, a reference to Les Enfants Terribles it's not mentioned in the MGs but it is not a translation error. And believe me, I have hundreds of ideas as to what they should do in a Mg and MG2 remake (if only someone would make it).
