My husband is in the middle of a severe bout of depression after literal years of him battling it. It's felt like we are just a breath away from the breaking point in these past few days, and then I stumble across this song for the first time on Monday. Hearing someone else say what's rattling around in my heart and head gives me enough strength to keep hanging on.
Sending peace and light. Hoping that this beautiful, heartfelt song was able to encourage and sustain you through rough waters.

The last three years have been some of the most turbulent, scary years of my life. This song reminds me of my dad, who passed away 20 years ago from cancer. My mom would tell me stories of being stranded and calling and my dad would ride out and get her, even in his sick and weakened state. God bless my dad and mom, Patti for writing this song and Melissa for making it important and relevant and supplying passion to it.

Melissa is one of my biggest heroes. Our country needs a hero right now. The government has no clue what life is really all about. Melissa knows! K. D. Lang knows...another hero of mine. I am a straight, married woman and to me, it would not matter if these heroes were....straight, gay, white, black, man or woman....they would still make me cry because of their music, their conviction, and because they flat out GET IT. God help our country now! We need a HERO!!!....I just noticed this is signed on by my son's name, Clint. That's OK cuz I am sure Clint would give me a huge thumbs up for posting this. :-)

Love the short hair. After listening to this, I did alot of bio studies on Melissa. A remarkable and talented artist. Glad you pulled through. I listen to Patty when I need to turn off the noise around me.
Beautiful song I’ve loved for quite a while along with many of Patty’s other songs. I had a list of incredible music when I was going through my battle with cancer as well. Heavenly Day and Nobody’s Cryin’ were on that list.
Listening to this just after Patty’s latest, self-titled album has won the Grammy for Best Folk Album 2019. Congratulations, Patty, and thanks for all the music.

Sitting with tears....tears for my sister Christine, ...so grateful her time of pain is over....(sure am glad she chose to incarnate into the family I too was born into)...but damn I miss her. This song always made my cry before she contracted with the cancer....now it just rips me open, shreds my heart from the inside out, tears bleeding from my eyes. Fuck.

When I paddled from Key Largo to Canada to raise money money and awareness for breast cancer in '96 I saw Melissa play in Portland Maine. I had no idea she fought the fight. Perhaps it was after that. Give give give to your local orgs to help women protect their assets and get any kind of support they need!

Chemo and the power of music. Melissa 10 years cancer free! I believe you are real brave when you take chemo. Hopefully I will never have to make that decision because I am not that brave.
My mom chose chemo. Unfortunately it didnt work. Personally I think she was already to weak to live through the chemo. She wanted to live longer for my two sisters and me. I feel she would have made it longer without the chemo. I miss her so much. Yesterday was our 7th Christmas without her. I dont understand and probably never will why it didnt help her. My heart is just as broken today as it was the day she left.
