This was such a unique reaction, where you have seen Andor first. First time I have seen anyone mourn Melshi, and you were also much more attached to Cassian. Great!
For a lot of us long time fans of the franchise this journey has been a great experience because it allows us to see things from a perspective we will never have, to see the tapestry as it *should* be seen.
Chronological timeline order is actually my personal favorite viewing method for newcomers. I find it so interesting and I believe folks have an easier time following it since you're not skipping all over the place 💖
COMPLETELY AGREE! Plus it eliminates any chance for possible unintentional toxic nostalgia that can transfer over when an OT fan introduces a new comer to Star Wars by showing/recommending them the OT first. It nearly ALWAYS creates a bias in the new viewer towards the OT simply because that's the first Star Wars story they experienced. The more people that watch this way the more likely that we can end the silly cycle of film bully abuse of OT fans not liking the PT, then those same fans now saying the PT isn't as bad as the ST, then those same fans will say the ST isn't as bad as the next film series, etc. till the end of time.
@@YodatheHobbit Exactly!
@@kaygee2121 Me too. It's soooo fun seeing newcomers experiencing the SW universe in a completely different context than older fans. And I actually think watching it in timeline order makes the Original Trilogy (which are wonderful, but honestly visually dated for many modern viewers) resonate way more. That's why I don't understand hardcore fans' insistence to watch in release order. Yea you lose certain big reveals, but you gain so much too! Timeline order will always be my favorite viewing method.
watching Andor, him screaming, NO ONE IS LISTENING! After they send the plans to the fleet he asks, Do you think anyone is listening? I sobbed.
Nemik: "CLIMB!"
Cassian: "CLIMB!"
K2SO: "CLIMB!"
The part where you mentioned Cassian laughing is extra funny because it's actually Diego Luna laughing. Alan Tudyk improved that slap, and Diego actually covers his face there to try to cover the fact that he's laughing.
I knew it!! I had a feeling he was trying to hide the fact he was laughing and wondered how it was filmed.
Anakin's descent into darkness was well portrayed.
Because some Jedi never completely loved him, didn't respect him, didn't trust him, didn't take him seriously and even despised him.
As a child before Obi-Wan started teaching him, he was hated and psychologically bullied by other children "Anakin is a slave to his feelings" and that was only because of envy because he was much more gifted and skilled than them.
.
.
.And many other things and sufferings he and his padawan, Ashoka Tano, the Jedi like to cause.
Yoda during the Clone Wars, he met the spirit of Darth Bane in Sitt's tomb, which is created by the rule of two.
And later in his visions he saw Anakin becoming Darth Vader and didn't do anything about it because I thought it wasn't worth it.
Anakin was a slave all his life - Tatuine, Jedi, Love, Dark Side.
He became a father figure to Qui-gon Jinn, during his stay in the temple he was psychologically bullied and called by others "Anakin slaves to his own feelings", he lost his mother, the Jedi never married him all the time and without proper evidence he accused Ashoka and caused her to leave and finally he was afraid of losing Padmé.
The only and worst support given the events was Palpatine who was a fatherly substitute for Anakin from the beginning.
When he used Mace Windu's hand and after killing the Jedi he was already in the dark as the dark side itself showed him to the planet Mortis The One Son.
On Mustafar, Padme almost got him from the dark side, but Obi-Wan discovered him and screwed it up.
Anakin "Vader" built his castle on Mustafar and thanks to the two sbosobs he tried to revive Padmé but he could not see it due to the fact that Luke and Leya were already born, they were the only ones preventing it with their existence.
Too bad he didn't find "Word between Wolrds" on the planet Lothal. He would create an alternate Reality or go through all of history. ;)
.
.
.
You have to find out about the lost 20 Jedi like Count Dooku, about the fates of Jedi with the ability to see the future, young apprentices who were not taken by any Jedi masters to learn, who showed little talent for the force and were not shown to the temple which in some cases was quite drastic, . ..
Blinded by ego, aronance, pride, absolute help to people and not following the path of forces.
Honor to the exceptions and one of the true Jedi was Master Fey.
The Jedi and the Fallen Jedi (Sith) have betrayed the memory and message of their common ancestors of the Je'daii Order by their actions and the endless battles of their Civil War. 😊

@@thatnerdtaraIs the Galactic Empire better than the Galactic Republic?
It depends on one's point of view. The Galactic Empire as depicted in the Star Wars series was a totalitarian regime that ruled with an iron fist, while the Galactic Republic was a more democratic government. It turns out that both have their flaws and strengths. From a moral point of view, it could be argued that the Galactic Republic is a better system of government, but the military strength and effectiveness of the Empire in maintaining control over its territories may be seen as an advantage by some. Ultimately, it's a matter of personal opinion.
But the main reason for the Empire is to be prepared for much worse threats from unexplored areas.
---
Crosshair once said, "Republic / Empire, what a difference."
You know what he means, Andor Show show us.
No one is good or bad. More than most people are Gray, just like in real life. We also saw how "good" Rebel Alliances are.
You know, even Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Legends is better than Ghost Squad, and I'm still with the fact that in Seaqual they remade Luke as a character out of all the Egoistic,... Jedi like Mace who dug their own graves.
@@thatnerdtaraIt is confirmed in the Star Wars Canon comic Darth Vader when he had his castle built on Mustafar and then in the Vader Immortal vr game.
Vader/Anakin tried to revive Padme from the end of episode 3 Revenge of the Sith, but he couldn't see it because Luke and Leya were already born.
Because he thought they died in her womb. So when he tried to revive her, he couldn't see them because they were already born.
And then when he found out that he had a son, he wanted to be sure Darth Vader 2020 comic period between Star Wars episode 5 and 6.
And some time after that, this cinematic Fallen Angel takes place.
I believe when he mentioned being in this fight since he was 6, that possibly meant when the mining accident that killed all the parents happened on Kenari. Someone pointed out to me once, that Cassian wears Nemik's manifesto on the right arm of his jacket 💖
That's my theory as well but "mining accident" is codespeak for the Empire did some heinous stuff there and covered it up, like Jeddah City.
@@artboymoy What happened on Kenari was not the empire - it was the Republic. The supposed good guys. That happened during or shortly before the Clone Wars.
@@bobogus7559 I have to say I was confused by the timescales etc in Cassian's backstory- because the planet and eemed to indicate the Republic timewise yet the show appears to say that the ship was Empire (and I'm thinking - given Cassian's age at that point - surely that's still Republic)
And he's older than six when that's shown
@@redcardinalist According to his Wookieepedia page, he was born around 33 BBY and was 9 during the flashback scenes on Kenari (putting that at around 24 BBY). It's possible that some major event had happened three years prior, though. Also, the ship was identified in dialogue as belonging to the Republic. The Separatist crisis and the Clone Wars began about 2 years after these flashback scenes. The flashback to the initial Imperial occupation of Ferrix and Clem's death takes place around 18 BBY (interesting detail - the soldiers in that scene were clearly clones, and the unmarked white armor shows that they were serving as the first generation of stormtroopers, before they were phased out and replaced with conscripts). The main show itself takes place during 5-4 BBY.
Also keep in mind that Cassian tends to exaggerate. Remember his story to Luthen when he first boarded Luthen’s ship, which Luthen then immediately called him out on? “You were a cook. You survived because you ran.” Cassian isn’t always honest with his allies.
7:39 Apparently that slap was unplanned, which is why Cassian looks like he's hiding his laughter behind his hand. Improv at it's finest
Why are they dying? It's a WAR movie, dear heart. This put the WAR in Star Wars. And now you have so much in store for you! And we'll be here for the ride.
Rogue One is a amazing movie.
Loved the way Chirrut was able to use the Force. Also the hallway scene with Vader was amazing.
It is no wonder Cassian got a series after this movie was released.
I don't know why they don't have more Force adept people around. There could be some interesting stories told with people who can just tap into a little bit of the Force and they all don't need to be as powerful as Jedi and Sith.
And Chirrut never joined with the Force when he died. Sad.
@@toddkes5890 After playing Kotor 2, I have a much different view of the Force. The Force is working towards balance and the eventual defeat of the emperor, right? So the Force use Chirrut to send the message to the Rebels as if it was his only purpose and once he fulfilled that purpose, the Force tosses him away.
"It is said The Force has a will, it has a destiny for us all. I wield it, but it uses us all, and that is abhorrent to me. Because I Hate The Force. I hate that it seems to have a will, that it would control us to achieve some matter of balance, when countless lives are lost!.” - Keira
I'm guessing 6 years old must've been when Cassian and his sister's parents were killed on Kanari by the Republic/Empire's mining disaster. In my opinion that's when it would make sense looking back on his life that he started a long grudge against of them.
Happy u enjoyed Rogue One :) Sgt Melshi was the one that rescued Jyn from the Imperial transport but he got kicked in the nuts by her lol. In Andor, the sunset horizon scene on the beach in Niamos where Cassian received news of Marva's death mirrored his end here in Rogue One on Scarif beach. RIP Jyn and Cassian!
It gets me every time when Bail says, with a smile, "I would trust her with my life."
Don't go home Dad... :p
Yeah this girl was too busy saying Obi Wan!!! And it’s Leia he’s talking about.
Right before you watch episode 4 I would recommend watching the end of this one again (from the point the rebels start to retreat from Scariff) to see how beautifully they tied this one into episode 4
1977 helmeted Rebels still entirely dripping in sweat " *! It's H I M !!*
It's a horrible tie in
Glad you noticed chopper while editing, but did you notice that the Ghost was in the fleet over Scarif? Also in tye background during one of the scenes at the base you can hear them calling for General Syndulla over the intercom!
The Ghost can also be seen parked outside the Rebel base on Yavin 4
I need to go back and look again!
@@thatnerdtara It actually has a fair bit to do in the battle too, not just a one-and-done cameo - if you look closely in the background of several scenes you can see it shooting down TIE fighters and defending Admiral Raddus' command ship.
@@gazzamanazza4pm the only thing I hate about star wars is there's so many great characters and ships ... it's hard to pick a favorite ...
damn to watch this after Andor is crazy and amazing great reaction.
Great reaction. I really envy the chronological viewing order. Especially with season 1 of Andor included. So much history with these characters adds so much depth to the saga. Happy to enjoy the ride along with you 👍🏽
Yes! And a question… how does she know Yavin? Yavin IV?
It's in Rebels
It's one of my all-time favorite movies. The scene with the Death Star coming out of shadow 🥶. The action is shot perfectly, boots on the ground style. I love the re-purposed footage. They couldn't use Blue Squadron in A New Hop because of clashing with the blue screens. They put Blue Squadron in here and had them wiped to explain why not in A New Hope.
Once at a comic-con, a little girl cosplayed as Jyn Erso, and gave little copies of the Death Star plans to every Leia she encountered.
"You know who they could use, flying through this storm, Hera Syndulla!" That's f****** A right! Preach it sister! 🤘👏
Rogue One is my second favorite Star Wars movie behind my number one The Empire Strikes Back.
This is the best SW put out in the last 20 years....I could watch the last 5 minutes on a loop...
Walked through the theater doors an excited man, and came out broken and looking for life. This movie hits home in so many ways.
For the first time we truly got to see Vader unleashed in live action. The original trilogy was very limited when it cape to special effects and budget so we never got to see what he was really capable of. Everyone in the theater went insane at the end. This is the Vader we grew to love and fear. As soon as they stared at the darkness before the breathing started I had this Oh Shit look on my face
I like when reactors see that scene and go _"ANAKIN NOOOO!"_
Not sure if you've seen this mate. If not, its worth a watch, brilliant work. When I go through my yearly re-watch of the movies I include this scene.

@neutchain7838 Yes, I saw that I'm no fool that ignores fan work. They are working on Luke v Vader episode 5 if I recall
@@clasher138 yup, heard something like that as well. Cant wait to see that one, thats another great scene!
Regarding knowledge of the Death Star:
5:04 and
16:05
This was the most secretive and secure project in the Empire. Up until the time where Cassian’s informant tells him of the “planet killer”, and when Galen Erso sends Bodhi the Imperial pilot to Saw Guerrera with his message, neither Saw’s partisan group nor the other Rebel cells (now an actual Alliance in this movie) knew the actual details and full scope of the situation (and even only a select few in the Empire truly knew). There were some episodes with Saw Guerrera in Rebels (those episodes on Geonosis, and the ones where they find a Kyber crystal shipment) where they show him trying to follow up on hints and leads he’s discovered through various means. Saw would likely have known about the Empire using Galen Erso for his knowledge of Kyber crystals and weapons design, thus Saw knew more than the Rebel Alliance, but per this movie and the past shows, he wasn’t on good terms with the other Rebels.
I am actually waiting to rewatch this film after Andor S2. Its gonna be completely different experience when Cassian became my favourite sw character, im gonna cry like a a baby.
Healing through the force is Canon before and during the old republic it was used, but after a while the Jedi stopped using it because, according to them, it disrupted the very cycle of life.
And for example, force healing was used in other similar situations by the Siths, Nightsisters of Dathomir,...
For example, even Palpatine used it on Anakin during episode 3 on Mustafar when he found him.
And yes, Padmé died of broken heart syndrome.
It also exists in real life because after the death of the actress Leya, her mother died of it. ;(
Glad we are moving on to the Classic Trilogies Tera! And glad that you spotted Chopper in your edits lol. You mentioned about how Saw got the way he looked( Not Spoiler) was because he was looking for the Death Star plans himself on a fume toxic planet so his organs were damaged.
I absolutely LOVE this movie, and have since I first saw it in theaters. I have some "fun facts" about it, as well. The first "fun fact" is that right after watching it in theaters, I immediately hauled ass home to watch A New Hope (a movie that I've seen over 1000 times before) right after it. The two movies are a perfect Double Feature.
1:03 - Lyra was not a Jedi. The idea about her being Force Sensitive was kicked around, but dismissed because "not every movie needs to have THAT for a motivation." The plan (in movie) was for her to take Jyn to a hiding place and wait for Saw, hence "Since Lyra died, yes." Galen knew HE couldn't avoid Krennic's abduction, but he wanted to ensure the safety/freedom of his family. Lyra refused to leave her husband, so she gave Jyn a kyber crystal neckless and told her to "Trust The Force". Then Jyn disobeyed her mother only to see her gunned down and her father taken, before realizing the gravity of the situation.
1:38 - And as Jeremy from CinemaSins pointed out, it was a way cooler toy than the ones we had back in 1979....
2:15 - Cassian knew that (Temek, I think his name was) would end up cracking under Imperial torture, and reveal what he knew. He also knew that Temek (still using that name, because I think it's correct... but I trust fellow UA-cam commenters to correct me if I'm wrong) couldn't escape the same way Cassian could/did. Remember what "The Buyer" told him.... "Build your exit on the way in."
3:00 - Meet K2-SO.... one of the sassiest droids you'll run into.
6:32 - Yeah.... about that little girl.......
7:37 - Fun Fact: When K2 slaps Cassian..... the actor playing him accidentally connected with the slap. This is why Cassian is covering his face, because he's actually laughing about it. Alan Tudyk (K2-SO) apologized all over himself after the take, and Diego Luna knew it was an accident, so he accepted the apology and they both had a laugh about it later on. But, it was the "best" take of that scene, so it was left in.
8:45 - Call him a jerk if you want to, but he DID do what he could to protect her, as any "adoptive father" would. And let's not sugar-coat that.... he WAS her adoptive father. Saw taught her how to survive, and protected her as best he could.
9:32 - Now, imagine.... if Bor Gullet can scramble the mind of someone telling the TRUTH like this... what would it do to someone actually LYING?!
10:19 - Remember that little girl at 6:32? Yeah... she's not traumatized any more.
Also - This was NOT a "Disney change" to the Death Star. The original novelization of Star Wars (before it was "A New Hope") told us that the Death Star had multiple settings for it's primary weapon. (Short version: On a low power setting, it could fire 10 times per day... on maximum power, once per day.)
11:00 - Had they waited for Saw, none of them would have gotten out of there alive, and Saw knew it. That's why he told her to run. Saw was barely mobile by this point anyway, you saw (pun intended) how he walked in the first time... that was the fastest he could move. But if you think about it, Saw died as he lived.... "For the greater good".
12:38 - And there goes K2... dry-snitching on Cassian...
12:50 - Chirrut and Baze.... Best Bromance in Star Wars!
14:36 - The truth is, NEITHER of them are wrong. Jyn is right in that Cassian DID go up there to kill her father... but Cassian isn't lying when he tells her that he disobeyed orders by NOT killing her father. Which brings a line from a movie you haven't seen yet into sharp relief.... remind me to point it out when you get there. (It's in Episode VI)
15:40 - Fun fact: GREAT care was taken in recreating Vader's helmet for this movie, so that it would match the "original" one in A New Hope, for the actor who would don the suit for this movie.
15:52 - Vader doesn't even know he's a dad yet, but he still got "Dad Jokes"...
17:05 - Also, this movie explains why there is no "Rogue One" in "Rogue Squadron" (the squadron Luke forms after A New Hope). There is Rogue Leader, then Rogue Two, Rogue Three, etc..... but "Rogue One" was left out in honour of the original Rogue team. (Okay, it was technically a Ret-Con.... but still..... let's go with it!)
17:43 - No.... that recording was made in secret, and transported by hand through Bodi to Saw. There should be no record of it, as it wasn't "transmitted".
18:11 - Pay attention RIGHT NOW! Once the shot goes to "outside", you can see Chopper (from Rebels) scooting across the left side of the screen. (pause right at 18:14 to see him) Also, when the Rebel Fleet comes out of hyperspace, you can see the Ghost, as well.
19:53 - "I am one with The Force, and The Force is with me." Chirrut keeps "praying" for The Force to guide him. Because, "All is as The Force wills it", the aim of the Death Troopers (the ones in black shooting at him) is muddied a bit. The Force is not only guiding Chirrut, but also helping him achieve his goal of flipping that switch.
22:58 - Fun Fact: GREAT care was taken in reproducing the "card" that the Death Star plans were recorded onto, because the original prop from 1976 had been lost years ago. The only references they had for it were on the original film, but I think they did a great job on that one.
23:04 - Fun Fact: THIS scene was not in the original script, and was shot mere WEEKS before the movie was released. The idea was forwarded that Vader should have "one more Bad-Ass scene" in the movie, the idea was approved, hastily written and filmed. Turns out it was one of the most shocking scenes in all of Star Wars, and became an instant hit among fans. This was Vader at the height of his power and savagery prior to learning that he had a son.
24:00 - Both Leia and Tarkin were CGI versions of the original characters. Carrie Fisher was still alive when this was filmed, so she gave her own approval for it. Peter Cushing's family was highly involved with this, and were treated very respectfully throughout the process. But they DID give their approval for him to be "digitally resurrected" to be in this movie. Story wise, it made sense.... but also, it shows that Lucasfilm were willing to treat the deceased actor with respect. A plus, in my book. I will say, that even in the theater, the CGI looked SLIGHTLY off.... but it didn't "take me out of the movie".
I have said it before, and I'll say it again.... Rogue One took me back to being that same 10 year old kid sitting in theaters watching Star Wars in 1977. Especially during the 3rd act. Just like back in 1977, I sat there on the edge of my seat, spine tingling and goosebumps all over the place. Even Episode III didn't pull me in like that, and I love Episode III!
Rogue One set the bar for Star Wars movies REAL high, and I don't know if that bar will ever be raised again.
Also, this movie is mostly about the "unnamed heroes who sacrifice everything for a cause they believe in". That's why we saw so many of them die off "for the greater good". The people who did "the dirty work" so that the "glory grabbers" could grab the glory of the job done, while simply "thanking those who made it all possible", yet without naming names.
Correction: Peter Cushing's family had nothing to do with the film, as Peter Cushing has no close surviving family. However his estate, who he left to his long time secretary and friend Joyce Broughton, were heavily involved in the process and signed off on it.
@@leroy1154 Okay, fair enough.... but technically, a distinction without a difference. People THAT close to someone are typically considered "family", which is why I used that term. But I do appreciate the added information.
Believe me, I have "friends" whom I consider "family", who are more closely related to me than people I share the same blood with. I am sure that you do, as well. As I was told when I was younger, "Your blood family is the family you were BORN into. Your REAL family is the family you CHOOSE to have in your life."
Have a wonderful day! =D
Awesome breakdown.... I agree that watching this took me back to '77 sitting in the theater as a 14 year old mouth opened at the effects of that time. When Leia appeared at end of RO I was in tears knowing what was next...
@@raybernal6829Thank you for the compliment! Being disabled, one of my "hobbies" is to help newer fans understand more of the lore, and to point out details that it took me a while to find through multiple viewings. It's actually funny, because it was maybe about 5-6 years ago that I spotted a detail in Return of the Jedi that I had missed through hundreds of viewings of that movie. I'll point it out when she gets there, because I hate posting spoilers. Star Wars takes up a large part of my brain, and I've watched everything more than once. I'm also an Aquarius, so "attention to detail" is a trait of mine.
Have a great day!
The first time I watched Rogue One, I remember the scene with Cassian and Jyn in the ship arguing with each other after the shootout where she asks if he was there to assassinate her father. It's a small scene, not some huge thing or anything, but I remember in that moment thinking to myself, "This is the best acting in Star Wars." The way he delivered, "I've been in this fight since I was SIX YEARS OLD!" felt so raw and real in a way that you usually don't see in Star Wars. It was so good that even though I think the scene wants us to be 50/50 between the two of them, I really sided with Cassian there (no fault to Felicity Jones, the actress who played Jyn, she did amazing too, but Diego Luna really hit those lines). That's why I was excited when I heard they were making a series about Andor afterwards and that show just took everything to the next level.
"Why is everyone dying!?"
No war comes without pain, Tara
The thing I always loved about Star Wars is that you see the sacrifice and courage not just in the main characters but in also in the extras.
At the end how those soldiers passed the plans off knowing they were about to die to Vader.
Nice to have Thrawn's brother show up in the Star Wars universe! 😊 Viewers with knowledge of actors know what I mean! 🤫
I can't watch the last minutes of this movie without waterworks. Such a great narrative & well delivered by a fantastic cast.
Absolutely love your reaction to Vader. It was the exact same of everyone when they heard his breathing. Everyone in the theaters went apeshit watching him destroy the Rebels. It was Darth Vader’s best moment!
So glad you caught Chopper while editing! I certainly didn't notice him the first time either. If you look and listen closely next time you watch this you could catch the Ghost a few times in the background and them calling for Hera over the intercom. This movie hepls tie so much together, its fantastic. Great reaction, can't wait for more, its cool seeing people watching everything in chronological order with all the extra shows mixed in to flush things out.
Glad you loved the movie 😊 Remember Andor was younger when the empire killed his biological parents on Kanari. When they show his backstory his parents are already dead, and the children were living on their own. So he could have been 6 or younger when the empire affected his life.
23:22 - Whoever played Darth Vader here is a brilliant actor. He made it look so easy for Vader, while the guards all knew there were going to die and were not going to go down without a fight!
24:00 Just an important but special note, Carrie Fisher did in fact get to see this movie after it premiered just before she passed away. She was genuinely surprised when she saw her younger self appear on screen at the end. She had initially stated that she was confused because she didn't remember if that was unused footage that she had filmed back when A New Hope was being made.
But, it was reported that she squealed and cheered when Leia appeared.
May our General and Princess always rest in peace... and may the Force be with her.
This is StarWars for adults. Tony Gilroy is amazing. Nothing Disney has put out has even come close to Andor/Rogue One. Gilroy has a way of making you care so much about each and everyone of the characters, even the "villains". This movie is a masterpiece and I'm jealous that you have watched Andor before this, what a cool point of view on the character so many people that watched this then Andor went into Andor thinking he was such a cold and dry character.
"Why is everyone dying?"
Because its War and Gilroy doesn't abuse plot armor.
FANTASTIC! YOUR review was SO cool! You knew the characters and the lore. Thank you.
I need “Cassian thank god your alive” turned into a beat or something
In retrospect, I think the line about him being in this fight since he was six years old still works if you consider that in Andor, it's implied that some type of ecological accident, or maybe just exploitation of the area of Cassian's original homeplanet caused the death of his parents. That's why he's in a tribe just full of children and there's that one shot of his overlooking a huge valley/ditch with a lot of abandoned mining equipment and machines. Probably the Empire was stealing resources from that planets which lead to the death of his parents at the age of six for him. So that line still makes sense in that the Empire has been mucking over him since he was a child and him just surviving was his fighting back. The irony that Cassian isn't fully aware of when he says that to Jyn is that she herself went through a similar experience at a similar age and he also ran from the calling for a long time before finally embracing it.
I'd go with this except that timewise Cassian's childhood should be pre-Empire. In another words, the opening scene should still be Republic. I'm not certain about this.
In my opinion this is the best Disney movie
Facts only
It is
IDK, Sleeping Beauty was pretty great
It's Lucasfilm. Disney don't make the movies, only the parent company.

Tara: Great, there's gonna be another orphan, isn't there?
You know these movies all too well lol😂
If you watched them in release order, the last 5 minutes of this movie are THE BEST part of the whole thing. The tie in to New Hope was amazing.
I weirdly found it hilarious watching Tara react to this ending. The last 5 minutes was her constantly say NO NO NO in disbelief 😅
Was really looking forward to this reaction and was not disappointed; great job editing to show your most impactful and thought provoking moments! Was worried that your edit for this would be far too short, as you were pretty stingy with Andor, but this was quite well done. Would love to see a full reaction someday but it’s all good either way. Now for the OT I can’t wait to see how your childhood brain, with vague memories of the OT, melds with your adult brain that has seen everything else chronologically.
I'm sorry about Andor, unfortunately the system was really strict with the amount of clips I was able to use!
@@thatnerdtara Yes quite understandable; I hear the algorithms can be tough, especially until an editor can learn the tricks/methods that others somehow use/get away with. For me it’s always about seeing/hearing/feeling as much of the reactors state of emotional response and comprehension to the material as possible, even if it’s a blurred, muted, and/or “cut away to full screen of reactor” moment (because we’ve seen it before and we know what’s coming even if you can’t show the scene). You did quite an excellent job with your Rogue One reaction so kudos on that.
This is a very unique reaction experience. I love this,
Yeah, I've never seen a reaction to this when seen after Andor. That was great, thank you.
To me Rogue One is the Star Wars movie ,after the original three, I always wanted. It took itself serious and really was a war movie at its core.
Your reactions brought back the horrible sinking feeling that hit me when I realised they were ALL going to die (I think it came with Bodhi's death). Definitely one of the best Star Wars movies, and it explains why Vader is so angry at the beginning of Episode IV.
When you asked how he became so vicious, I thought "Vicious? Wait till next movie, and the end of this movie". I love the hallway scene. Vader is the penultimate villain. Well, it is a tossup between him and Thrawn. Also, it is so cool when the Star Destroyer comes out of hyperspace.
This was released before Andor, but chronemically, Andor happened much sooner than Rouge One.
Before you watch A New Hope, watch the last 5 minutes of this then go straight to Ep 4. It’s awesome that way.
I watched a reactor start the series with Rogue One then watched A New Hope and it hit that much harder.
@22:42 all of these hurt, but hearing Cassian say that Jyn’s father would be proud… screaming crying throwing up! and @23:14 actually screaming in the theater when I saw this for the first time!!!
Cassian's mom would be proud of him
On one of the streets, Jen bumped into the two outlaws that Luke ran into in Moss Isley, where Obi Wan cut off the guy's arm.
Excellent reaction! I saw how excited you were to see R2 and 3PO. But, you might have missed Chopper and them paging Command Syndulla over the intercom right before their cameo. Great watch!
“......and there’s a fresh one if you mouth off again.” Best ad-lib EVER.
There's a line that Vader says in Episode IV, "There'll be no one to stop us this time." This movie - Rogue One - gives that line a lot more gravitas.
There's no words to how fearsome evil can be.... 23:08 "Excuse me sir is there a Storm Troopah position open?!"
Fun watch with someone who hasnt reacted recently to OG trilogy. Your cries about losing the new characters was similar to most of us knowing what their sacrifice meant to the cause 😊❤
18:41 Those are AT-ACT All Terrien Armored Cargo Transport
There were two pivotal parallels to the series. When Nemik was guiding them off Aldani he said CLIMB! Those were K2S0s last words as well. When Cassian found out about Marva, he looked out over the ocean… just like when he finally died.
Also Wobani was an Anagram for Obi-Wan
You saw the reaction she had to Saw…and then to Cassian…! Wow-she watched the Clone Wars-and all of Andorian? (Now that is some impressive dedication and work!) 😅
Idk if you noticed but the dude who rescued Jyn from the convoy and led land attack on Scarif was Melshi,Cassian's buddy from prison
edit:2:19 He couldn't risk that they would caught him and his contact couldn't escape with him beacuse of the broken arm
I actually realized that was Melshi when I was editing! I didn't notice it was him the first time around.
I watched this in theatres maybe a week or two after Carrie Fisher died. Seeing Princess Leia at the end made the entire room break into sniffles.
When this movie originally came out, game of thrones was also at its height. So many joked that G.R.R. Martin wrote the plot for this Star Wars movie, because „they all die“
He would create an alternate Reality or go through all of history. ;)
.

May the force be with you.
And may you lead the force. 🖐️
Tara watching Rogue One and Emme watching Endgame in the same day. Good chill vibes only, today.
So grateful you reacted to Rogue One and happy you enjoyed it
I'm new to your channel and I have to say that it is good to see your enthousiasm and love for Star Wars. Can't wait for you to see the Ahsoka series, so keep watching. Fun fact: Wobani (the planet from Rogue One) is an anagram for Obi-Wan.
OH GOD! You watched Andor before this!? Wow...this is going to be a ride.
It is confirmed in the Star Wars Canon comic Darth Vader when he had his castle built on Mustafar and then in the Vader Immortal vr game.
The little Hammerhead that could is an old, old, OLD design from the Old Republic. Hammerhead frigates, corvettes, cruisers and capital ships have fought Sith and evil empires for thousands of years, only taken out of circulation when Palpatine took over. When I saw it do the characteristic Hammerhead maneuver in live action ("RAMMING SPEED!") I cheered! Also, the projects Jyn sees in the archive are Imperial superweapons from the novels and comics.
It's just another day at the office for Anakin Skywalker.
Defending the "Republic". Crushing the "Separatists".
Such a great movie💜💜
You missed Chopper (but saw him later), they called for General Syndulla over the PA, and The Ghost was in the back
Ground, and if memory serves me, was at the battle at Scarif.
I was a Star Wars fan since the 1970s so I see things in a completely different perspective. It would be awesome to see Andor first then Rogue One.
Priceless Reaction after watching Andor 👏...That ending right ;) 🌋
One of the original trilogy doesn’t do is make Vader scary. He appears to be a bad guy who does bad things, but he’s not scary, scary. The utter fear he projects in the final hallway scene elevates his character as the ultimate Star Wars villain. I look forward to A New Hope.
In my opinion Vader in the OT was scary. Bu that's it, he was scary and a lot of things are scary. To a child, coming home from school with bad grades is scary. The potential of loosing your job is scary. Getting a letter from the police is scary.
Vader in this however is something else. He's utterly terrifying. Hold your breath because of how scared you are level terrifying.
If OT Vader wasn't scary, this scene wouldn't exist. Him stalking Luke in cloud city felt like a supernatural creature. Scariest thing ever to a kid at minimum, still gives me chills
I've been waiting to see someone react to Andor then Rogue One. I grew up with the 1977 Star Wars first. These reactions will be awesome, thanks so much!
When I had first seen this movie I was surprised how every new characters death affected me, and this was before I had seen Andor.
Great story telling, great acting, great star wars content. Can't wait for the rest of your reactions
And to think Saw was close to uncovering the Deathstar plans back in Rebels, Stardust was the project the empire was moving that giant kyber crystal for when Ezra and Sabine were rescuing hostages
Hands down the best SW movie of the Disney Era by far. Outstanding visuals, great story, phenomenal soundtrack. And I applaud them for have the balls and go so dark with the plot and just kill everyone. That Vader scene was fire.
Couple things to note. The scene when K2 slaps Cassian was improved by Alan Tudyik thats why Diego was trying to hide his face laughin... :) When the fleet jumps in you can see the Ghost ( from Rebels ) jumping in with them. On Yavin 4 you can hear they're calling General Syndulla on the PA ( which would be Hera at this point ) and you can also see Chopper in the background. And I find it kinda poetic that Cassian helped build the thing ( those Death Star parts in the prison ) that will ultimately kill him.
One of my favs of the new movies, it’s a really well done war movie, it just happens to be set in space. And the way they tied it in at the end, that was just masterful, A New Hope makes more sense now. Unfortunately, they all had to die, that’s how critical those plans were to obtain.
Side note: nail color on point.
19:53 same line that Ahsoka said when removing Rex chip
Hits harder after andor… great reaction!
Seeing your reaction was so much fun! Love to see someone truly invested in Star Wars such as yourself! ^_^
When K2 slaps Cassian, that was completely improvised by the actor wearing the K2 rig 😂 Hence why Cassian is laughing
7:54 Fun fact: Donnie Yen was the one first suggested his character be blind. The crew thought that was a fantastic idea and wrote that character change into the script. "Are you kidding me? I'm blind!" was added and improvised by Donnie into the script too.
You can even see this kind of when the movie trailers first released. One of the first reveal photos of the entire cast, and the first teaser trailer shows Chirrut whacking a stormtrooper with his staff. But in these shots, you can see that Chirrut is not blind.
As the movie got closer to its release date, one of the story trailers showed Chirrut's face up close and he was changed to a blind character.
Bonus fun fact: Donnie Yen would then go on to play another blind action character in the fourth John Wick movie.
"Why is everyone dying?!"
That is the nature of war...
Two points.. Over the P.A. system at the rebel base you can hear Captain Syndulla being paged and when the rebel fleet shows up at Scarif The Ghost is with the task force. You can google both points in the movie.
If you ever did a Patreon or something for the full reactions instead of edited version, I'd definitely pay to watch your reactions! You've got great first time analysis and great at tying in plots of all the previous movies into what you watch next. Can't wait to watch all your reactions going forward :)
i love that EVERYONE we came to know from this movie died, cause in Star Wars theres so many groups and so many people that just die and we dont feel anything cause theyre not the main characters or theyre not jedi or had much significance to us but here we see a group of rebels who didnt even know each other that much or arent special in any way, just a group of faceless rebels who died in the battlefield and it makes you wonder how many more rebels have stories like this
Vader: prepare a boarding party
Also Vader: is boarding party
You just watched the most star wars star wars film that star wars has ever star wars(ed) ❤
For real this one was unique in its own way ⭐💥
23:13 One of the coolest scenes in Cinema.
Andor's parents may have been killed in the mines when he was 6 years old.
