As you may have guessed by now, this was the inspiration for Lady Gaga's stage name. She is a big Queen fan. Love your intelligent and enthusiastic reactions, by the way!
Radio Ga Ga written by Roger Taylor. Heard his kid say “radio ca ca” & was inspired to write about the demise of radio with the rising popularity of the music video & MTV. The live version is a huge crowd participation moment. Watch Queen’s 20 min set of Live Aid 1985. Like the comment below Queen has a lot of gems that aren’t popular radio wise. But the fans love them. Check out IT’S LATE and LET ME LIVE by Queen!! Thank you! 💟
@@DayOneReacts Oh I can’t wait for you to see their live performances!! The first one should be SOMEBODY TO LOVE live in Montreal 1981 but my personal favorite is SOMEBODY TO LOVE live in Milton Keynes 1982. Freddie on Fire! 🔥

The movie they are flying through is the silent classic, Metropolis. It has been restored in recent years and looks amazing. It's also had the original score added (which was originally played by a live orchestra when it debuted in Germany).
@@Scary__fun - I remember that being released. A noble effort to bring the movie to the masses. Unfortunately, nearly an hour of footage was still missing at the time.
@@tanisdevelopment colouring Metropolis is not a noble effort, it's more a crappy effort nobody ever asked for except some genius that thought it was a good idea
@@JulioLeonFandinho - No, I agree. I meant trying to bring it to the people was a good thing. It had been sitting in boxes and cans, deteriorating. Even today, after massive restoration efforts, there are a few missing sections. Nearly complete copies weren't found until the 2000s.
You have to watch the Live Aid (1985) performance of this song. So amazing to see thousands in the audience singing along and doing the hand clapping in unison
I've been a Queen fan literally all my life. One of my best memories as a kid was watching them on TV doing Live Aid in 1985, which happened to be on my 10th birthday. My ten year old self felt VERY special that Live Aid was done for my birthday. And as much as I just love Queen and Freddie's voice in general...Nothing ever beats Queen live on a stage. Freddie Mercury was just so in his element when he was on stage, and it was something so wondrous to witness. I wish I had been old enough to see them live while they were touring before Freddie got too sick. But I highly recommend their Live Aid performance if you don't watch ANY other live performance of there's, that one should really be on your list. That performance was a sight to behold.
Industrial sound more than likely a nod to German pioneers of electronic music 'Kraftwerk' For a long time they would always be pointing out on their album sleeve 'no synthesizers were used on this album' But when they embraced it they really embraced it
React more to Queen's Music, not just the most popular one, they have a lot of Gem, ...and I'm excited for your Queen Reaction ...Nice Reaction and Great Insight Beautiful Girl😊
Hello Angela. Great reaction to a really great song. Queen was my very first live concert back in 1977 and they were terrific! So many wonderful songs from this band, and still performing today, though it's not the same without Freddie. For something a little different, you might try the official video for "Liar", a LIVE performance from their debut 1973 album. It showcases a more hard driving rock+roll style that was more evident in their early years. ☮☮☮
The footage in the video are extracted from Fritz Lang film "Metropolis" made in 1927, probably the first, or anyway one of the first sci-fi movie. Queen composed a new sound-track for a restored version of Metropolis in the 80s
This song gave lady Gaga her name. He also sings we will rock you. And we are the champions. Under pressure 😁 which vanilla ice stole the music to Under pressure for his song ice ice baby without asking Queen or David Bowie premission first they sued and got their names on the album for ice baby. I'd love to see your reaction to I want to break free by queen. 😆😁😉 His last video before he died is these are the days of our lives. Make sure you have tissues with you when you watch it. 🤧😞 R.I.P Uncle Freddie Mercury 🌹❤️
I honestly do not think there is a bad song done by Queen. I am sure there are plenty of people out there that know a lot of Queen songs, but do not realize they were done by Queen. A lot of their B side songs would be covered by other artists, or at least played in concert by other artists. Absolutely loving your reactions and seeing how much you enjoy these absolute musical gems. Cheers.
I have a 12-in single if you know what that is of radio Gaga by Queen it's really cool the long version a really long version of that song it's awesome
Angela - I think anyone who loves rock will like or love Queen. The movie about them is pretty accurate. This is one of their better songs obviously. I am more of a Beatles fan. The Beatles in my mind were the greatest band to ever form. Your excitement is hard not to love you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!! lol Mine is Paul Revere & The Raiders.
“We’d sit alone and watch the stars On videos for hours and hours We hardly need to use our ears…” A lament for how music videos and MTV changed the music industry. Visuals became more important than song content, and talent wasn’t enough to get past an image that wasn’t marketable in the eyes of the studios. It’s well presented in the documentary Before The Music Dies, and this song is a nostalgic look back on when the song was everything to kids struggling through their teenage years with the radio being their window to another plane of existence.
I have subscribed to your channel. Love the music and the reactions. However, I can't seem to activate the bell foe notifications. It keeps coming up about something about content made for children

In 1984, a colorized version of Metropolis was released produced by Giorgio Moroder with modern rock artists including Queen providing the music.

I love your reactions and honest feedback. Queen and Bee Gees are my favs! Both have amazingly large catalogs of music over several decades.
Fun fact: Brian May, the lead guitar for Queen, has a PhD in astrophysics, and he built his own guitar from scratch.
His father built it from wood from a mantelpiece.
This song is literally about the radio and not about their music
Found out in Antique Roadshow that if found, an original copy of the Metropolis Poster is worth Millions today.

Freddy had a single called The Great Pretender which he covered from The Platters. It wasn't very good to be honest.
Yep, it's where 'Lady' got her name...

Ironic that Queen were actually a big part of how the industry changed, given their videos like Bohemian Rhapsody taking things to another level.
