Would love to update the electronics on that thing :D Add some proper waterproof brushless motors, 3D print some adapters to reuse the space where the old motor is and 3D print an adapter for the motor screw and redo the whole controller board with electronically controlled air so you control every direction just using two joysticks. It would cost around $1500 to do properly

Your motors should be fine. Its probably a bad ground or something to do with the joystick. Id re wire then with no computer and just potentiometers for each moror individually. Turn up the left to turn right and right to turn left. Just buy 2 trolling motor replacement throttles and use the 2 separately to power it and turn. Then add lead weight so you can have more air in the cabin to keep water off the batteries. Then build a lid you can take on and off to charge the batteries.
Water is going to get on the batteries. It’s designed for that. He has lead weights in the submersible. He just has to get better driving it. It’s probably a short. I can’t believe it’s $10K to wire it. That’s insane. Probably because parts are hard to find. Not sure what seals he was referring to. They redid the battery box. I’m guessing he’s talking about the seals for electronics.
@alanhinkel420 My uncle had the same one. We used todive in it all the time in the summer when we went down to the keys. I showed him what was happening, and he said the water should be rite below the battery box. It will get submerged sometimes, but for the most part, it should be just about at the lid. The reason he is having issues with the water being so high is because he needs more weight. He is using some steel weights that he should replace with lead and keep adding until it's at the right level. He is letting in so much water because there isn't enough weight to weigh down the extra air to submerge.
There should also be a one-way valve in the gasket made of the adhesive he used to seal the lid to vent the hydrogen that is produced when lead acid batteries charge. Im not sure if lithium batteries do the same, but that could be what caused the leak. If it built up pressure and broke the seal.
@@Mynameis7nad I know he has lead weight in the sub. When they were doing the build on it, they were concerned about the lead, so they coated it. I’m sure he could use some more. I think he needs to spend some time in it in the Ocean. Somewhere that has some depth. He needs to learn how to keep it at certain depths. Go down and try to maintain 30 or 40 feet. Drive around at that depth. So far, it’s been him getting in the lake, bottoming the sub and fishing. Or they tie the sub off of the buoy.
@@Mynameis7nad I’m not 100% sure he had a leak. He said he might. But I don’t know. I don’t think Lithium Ion Batteries leak gas like older batteries. He shouldn’t let them stay in water though. Pretty sure it’s a short circuit. He lives in Florida. Condensation is going to get in the battery box.

I wish I lived out there by you guys, I would assist you in modifying those water scooters as plug and play replacements for your current prop set-ups along with going from electronically controlled to analog/cable, that way you can control tail and wings all separately, and keep everything watertight. Hopefully you find a gearhead to knock that out for ya, because it would be awesome to see some bigger lake videos with you exploring in this thing! Cant wait keep up the Awesome Content!
Brandon, you rock! I'd check the wiring, but you could use the motors off them things you bought. That's just me, though. I bet them motors you have on the sub are fine. You'll just have to straight wire them. Peace

You should build a hatch that can close and open for the entrance it wouldn't be to hard but it would probably help you keep the water out of it and make it way better

One moves a 20 foot boat, two would move that sub perfectly. The electronics should be easy to fix, not much to the set-up.

You just need to replace the stock propellers with a three or four blade prop. To add thrust
Just use some break cables off a couple bicycles for the throttling on each aqua scooter. Then you would have precise control for the 2 different motors.

I know this is off topc but, if you're looking for a new river to hunt. The Connecticut river in Hartford CT has a Big River Rafting place called Satan's Kingdom. It also has the old 1800s Colt gun factory right on the river!! I bet you guys will find some great TREASURES!!

Better to add weight, this will ensure more air cavity when neutral bouyant. Advisable to spray conformal coating on electronics or contact cleaner evert now and then
