- The new Porsche 992 GT3 has arrived. It earns double wishbone suspension for the first time, a swan neck rear wing and has already claimed a blistering 'ring lap time. But is it any good? Dan finds out...

This is propably the most desirable car on sale today, it has everything the car enthousiast wants and almost zero drawbacks.
Ferrari 812 GTS naturally aspirated would be the other car on sale right now ;)
too bad 99.9% cant get it
Drawback = ride quality.
Lack of £150,000 is a major drawback for me.
I'm "easy". Just give me a manual Cayman or Boxster GTS 4.0 and I'll be satisfied.
I love ya Dan! Give us more more more videos plz! One of my fav car reviewers today!

Good skids there mate, great intro to the car and the first review I watched
Dan, what was that talk about drifting on the Intercooler? You are killing it with the skids.
So many reviews of this car. But you are the best. Content and editing. Keep up the good work.
Hope the channel keeps growing! Lovely vid, as always! Well done, Porsche...manual and NA!
Great review Dan. Thank you and thank Porsche.
Great review! Really enjoyed this one. Seemingly the question that's going to require answering is going to be whether Porsche have RS'd the GT3. Your point around the spring rates being higher to cope with the downforce makes me wonder what we can expect when the Touring comes out. A slightly more compliant, road version of this GT3 perhaps? Time will tell. Thanks for the mega content as always.
Who knew Michael Fassbender reviewed cars!... The man is adaptable 😊
Personally, I'd have the car without the rear spoiler / roll cage for some classic lines with the modern firepower.
This morning i had the choice, of all the 992 GT3 video that popped up. Harris ? Watson ? no no where is Dan's video. Ahh found it, always watch Dan's video first !
I love the sequential shifting option, it's like driving a rally car. I have anyway rarely both hands on the steering wheel when I daily.
I’m all for the new double wishbone front end but I had to go back to every review I could find of the GT3 since the 996 and couldn’t find anyone ever complain about the old front end setup
Thanks for the review! Honestly do you rather get a 718 cayman GT4 or this one? I love my GT4 but I m wondering if...
Best review of the new gt3 yet! Music and editing was on point! Keep it up Dan and the PH team!
Easily as good as the Harris vid! And the cinematography is miles better! Gonna watch again on the bigscreen when I get home :)
Nice and objective review, and I like the fact that you were honest about the lows of the 911. Being a 2021 992 carrera S owner, I want the rear wing, the NA engine and the sound for sure. I wish this GT3 would produce more torque on paper than it does now. 347 lb-ft is lower than the 390 lb-ft of the Carrera S. It's like Doug DeMuro stated that the car could have been more powered by Porsche.
My only question is: Would you trade in your Carrera S for this? Would the upcoming 718 GT4 RS be a matchup to this car?
spoken like a 60 year old with no interest in driving the shite out of a car like this.. or like a gt4. Sunday drives at 6 tenths are not the reason for which this car has been built. Keep your carrera or get a turbo... or, let me put it easier for you: this is not the car for you!(nor is the gt4, for that matter)
Another great vid. TY mate.
My dream car right there!! Great vid! 👍
Just watched Frankel’s ‘Autocar’ review. The Intercooler one-two punch! And to think Dan was lamenting his inability to slide a car recently ...
Once again, Porsche outdone itself. 💯💯
I've not heard a word you've said - all I hear is that engine!
Well done..still one.of my favourite car journo
I would love this in black, black rims, all yellow stitched inside with yellow set belt. Yellow brakes 👌
If only you could actually buy one...
Speaking to my local OPCs it seems like less than a handful of allocations have gone to each dealer. :(
And we know you only get a GT3 if you buy multiple Porsche cars even before they consider you
The engine is and sounds glorious - but they all do ! This is a good thing
This is excellent content.
Amazing video
Mega! Brilliant car!
Porsche should make this PDK shifter standard in all 911's. The "Braun Shaver" shift lever is NOT a welcome site in the current range.
Dan how Is this car to driver compared to Porsche 991.2 GT3 and GT3 RS??
The front suspension finally caught up to a 90’s civic
And, I venture, as a road car, P has in the process made the front too sharp for the car to balance properly, for 99% of buyers 99% of the time.
As a pure track toy, in the era of GoPros and "drift mode" electronics, perhaps not so much. But for track hooning, why not just get an Ariel which, in addition to being less compromised in that setting, also benefit from being simple enough so that normal (at least as normal as people regularly tracking their car will ever be) people can keep it running, in that more limited context.
It's not as if P stuck with struts because they somehow were too far behind the front suspension technological curve to be able to build GT3s which handled as well as a 90s era Civic (despite those being pretty darned amazing for what they were).
about 10 reviews of this all pop up at the time same....who to watch
This car was ran in by Chris Harris. He did the first 1000 miles on the highway. What a beauty this car is. I love the color. The PDK with "manual shifter" etc. I would never buy a manual. This car has the best of both worlds. It's a dream to own one some day.
yeah.. you look like someone who would never buy a manual.
Even as someone who, against initial expectation, ends up picking a DCT Honda for 80+% of two wheeled miles, despite having supposedly "much more exciting" bikes parked next to them: Autos in fast cars, are soul crushingly boring, for driving in an even remotely (and I mean truly remotely) civilized fashion.
While manuals, even driven in granny mode; particularly in very mechanical cars like this; at least provide a mechanism for generating excitement, which does not solely depend on way-beyond-remotely-legal speeds and levels of aggression.
Thank you !!!!!
What major innovations does it have?
Dan the man
Loooooove it!! 😍😍😍😍
Welcom
I agree regarding the interior/luxury
Its nice but at the same time, look at the 997 GT3
There is no nonsens, just a hell of an engine three pedals and f:ing race seats
Amazing car!
Concur!
I tuned out from the very beginning. If you can't even get the horsepower correct, then you're clearly in the wrong business. The correct horsepower is listed right there on Porsche's website. smgdh
Good video
love!
I want one.
When U did the powerslide I called up the Porsche dealer
who was the fastest journo? Dan, Henry or Chris?
Harris
I want one !
The best car....💥💥
that sound just kills me. 09:04
❤
What’s the color name?
Shark blue!
La maquina perfecta............PORSCHE
No I want a v12 that rev to 9500rpm with a proper racing engine noise! Not a v6 engine that sounded errmmm... Ok. Best steering feel though... after lotus cars of course.
Pick up a bargain 991 GT3 and RS now as prices just plummeted £20k +
If only they had!
OK, I will have to dig down the back of the sofa first....
I don’t think u have checked prices
@@lambdee7006 Indeed. 997.1 GT3 is best value at mo
Fabulous British reviewers. All over the net.
Where are any American ones? Sad 😞
Swoon ❤️
That’s for the car, not Mr. Prosser. Much as I like him as a journalist
nice car!
Okay good car, but almost nobody reading this can afford this car brand new. Dreaming is cool but it is not the real deal ... !
The most important sports car review will be next year with the new GR86. A car that many more people can afford.
Make this review the best and the more exhaustive you have ever made Dan 🙂
gr 86, the gt3 we can afford. (then again, I'm 99% sure tomorrow I'll book a gr yaris with delivery in 1 year.. because.. yeah.. #demand)
@@eugenux Yes the GR86 is vastly improved, it will be the best affordable driver's car 👍
This or the GT4RS - For the track? Hard pick... Let us wait for the RS 718 to see what it will bring.
Is there going to be a GT4RS? I hadn’t heard anything about that potential model.
@@ALMX5DP they are lapping the 'ring for quite some time now..
@@ALMX5DP yep! Currently on the list for one
718 will not be allowed to overshadow 992. its just the way it is.
@@gaycha6589 not 992 but 991 sure :)
That poor press car has had some punishment!,
Think of the content/sales it has helped generate
It’s built for it
Am i the only one who doesn't like the excessive plastic front bumper
You have a point there.
502hp
💙PDK💙
There are 911 likes as i write this... my like is the 912th one... weird huh!
That’s some driving for your butt
FLAWLESS
U.S. cars - no roll cage
since i haven't driven one yet my verdict has to be: another 911......but i like the oldschool rev counter and of course the noise that has sexual intercourse with my ears
The interior doesn't suit the GT3, exterior is got weird like the McLaren Senna. I know the car is perfect, its been perfect for 20 years. With all growing up and weight savings the car is almost $200K USD and that is no good.
the sound... omg, the sound at full chat!
then again, this 992 gt3 looks too much for the street use, road trips.. alps.. it looks like it is 90% a gt3 rs. So, I'm thinking 99% would be as happy or even more happy with a 991.2 gt3, maybe manual.. maybe the touring version. This is also already more expensive at the launch then the 991.2 model.
Of course it’s more expensive, inflation and not to mention the cost of developing that new front end.
@@jryalls probably you're getting more car for the money but, for me, it looks much closer to an RS than it should be.. not that I can afford one so, all is just theoretically.
eugenux : 992 GT3 Touring is your answer.
Looking forward to DMO and Mist get their hands on it.
Those chavs don't deserve this car.
Hmmm... still not a Porsche guy.
McLaren has banned F1 hydraulic suspension and 10 yrs later Porsche introduce double wishbone on its halo product lol. Just a supped up Crushed BEETLE
What are you talking about?
