  • The NFL is filled with the biggest, strongest, and fastest athletes in the world. We’ve become desensitized to the unexplainable things these guys do every weekend. To stand out among that, well it takes an absolute freak of nature. If anybody on this list can’t make it in football, they’ll have a shot to make it in Space Jam as Monstars. Here are the biggest freaks of nature in the NFL today.

George Kittle is the only guy I’ve ever seen in the NFL that doesn’t look like some big-city stud. Dude looks like he was wrestling wolves south of his local trailer yard in Montana. Never underestimate buff shaggy. Kind of guy you’d expect to see in the UFC back in 2005.

Honorable mention: JJ Watt. Injuries have slowed him down these days, but in his prime, Watt was a beast. Even his younger brother TJ (who is also making a case for himself) has admitted that his older brother was unstoppable, and he is not yet ready to make comparisons, which is quite the high praise one can give. Between his performance during his first 4 years and the insane workout routines you find on video, sometimes it makes you wonder exactly what Mrs Watt was feeding her children.

It really can't be understated how much of a freak performance Aaron Donald put on at the 2014 NFL Combine. He came in a 6-foot-1 285 pounds, ran a 4.68 40-yard dash with a 1.63 10 yard split, benched 225 pounds 35 times and had a 7.11 3-cone drill time. For some reference, Khalil Mack that same year was 6-foot-3 251 pounds at the combine. He ran a 4.65s 40-yard dash with a 1.64 10 yard split, benched 225 pounds 23 times and had a 7.08s 3 cone drill. Donald at 34 pounds heavier than Khalil Mack, was 0.01s faster in his first 10 yards and only 0.03 seconds slower than Mack in his total 40. He also nearly matched Mack's 3 cone drill time. Another example of Donald ridiculous athleticism. Travis Kelce at his Pro Day weighed in at 6-foot-4, 255 pounds. He ran a 4.61 40 yard dash with a 1.61 10 yard split and had a 7.09 3 cone drill. At 30 pounds heavier Donald was as athletic as Kelce who is considered one of the most athletics TEs in the NFL.

*Not hard for me to understand with RB Henry. He is a big 1 trick pony that has to get up to speed like a train but once he is cooking it’s fast. 6’4 250 but his #’s are almost inflated. He goes against smaller Defenses compared to 10 years ago, the 80’s and 90’s. He gets the ball in the Shotgun and the opposing Defenses are already in the Nickel/Dime, his Oline blocks to the 2nd level and boom it’s a 50 yard run b/c the Oline blew the “Dime Package” off the LOS and the smaller DBs and smaller LBs are left to tackle. Henry would not run like this in the late 90’s like Eddie George or Jamal Lewis. He doe not have the talent that Curtis Martin or Priest Holmes have but he does have Hershall Walker size*

Most underrated freak of nature is Patrick Ricard, he’s basically a lineman playing outside the line, he’s a 311 lbs fullback who does it all, can run the ball, can block in a supreme way, he can catch really well, he obliterates the other teams’ defensive backs and lb since he’s so heavy and strong

How are you going to forget about Fitzgerald? The man has played 17 years and has had 50+ catched EVERY season, is second all time for receptions and only has 29 drops (which is less than 2 drops per season) with no lack of targets as he currently is just under 1,500 receptions. He has more tackles than drops and after 17 seasons has continued to catch pass after pass like nothing. He is arguably the best reciever to ever play the game, how can you leave him out, his hands are straight up freaky. His stat line is the definition of freak of nature.
