Screw the member cruise😮 I said it and I expect some flack. But, I would like more "Moonlight Magic" events as the only time I was there for one, it got cancelled. I fly down from Jersey.

Im in same boat. DVC is the crystal ball of disneys attitude toward its non-dvc members. When it starts treating DVC ppl poorly, you know Disney is gonna be doing some unconsumer friendly practices as a whole. They just have to show their hands early cuz of the year out nature of dvc
I never thought I could own DVC until I found a small DVC Resale contract that I could actually afford. Best decision I ever made.
Man. I don’t want to sound like complaining Carl. Remember when they used to have after hours to like 2am for mod-and higher resorts (all dvcs count) and it was free.
Yes, you can complain. Disney did nothing but increase the nickel and diming and taking benefits away from members the past 5-10 years

A bunch of years ago we stated magic kingdom ith early hours the park was closing at midnight or 1 am then they had double hours after that the park was going to close at 5 am my kids made it until 3:30 am we did go back to wilderness lodge of an afternoon break you will never see anything like that again
Tony’s has always been good, I know people pan it but we never understood why. It’s not fine dining but it has always beat out many other restaurants

Good Monday Morning! I usually listen while giving the horses their lunch but clicked on early today for breakfast and cleanup 💩🐴. If I haven’t mentioned it, my horses are the most DVC savvy equines in the extended DVC family (except maybe those really lucky ponies over at the campground!). Thx, as always very enjoyable and informative. 😊
We were going to buy a condo down here. Then my wife kept redoing the #. We decided against last minute after we saw a few. Walked into DVC with that money burning a hole in our pockets. Thank god. The pandemic happens and we would have been in trouble. Now we have a buying problem. Thx Derek.
I was that guy like Paul. Spreadsheets, projecting dues and future room rates, opportunity cost. Look at it all and at worst, I had it at break even. Was a no brainer at that point.

We agree with Derek, we stayed one night in Port Orleans for 1 night before a Disney Cruise! it was Fantastic!

We love the Gran Destino Tower at Coronado. We just recently stayed in a 1-bedroom suite club level & it was phenomenal. By far, our favorite non-DVC resort. Walking into the lobby, one would never guess that it's a moderate resort. It's nicer than the vast majority of DVC lobbies, as are the rooms. As much as I would like it to become a DVC resort, I don't see that happening because it's such a big convention resort.
POFQ was the very first resort we ever stayed at and we loved everything about it. This last trip was the first time we went back to visit it, and we had the beignets for the first time. Amazing place! That will be the next resort we do a cash room stay at. Enjoyed this show as always! The hat trick has me in stitches 😂😂
Any covid restrictions still in place at this point are completely ridiculous.
Oh if they ever built a DVC at Coronado , I’m first in line. It’s my favorite non DVC resort. Obsessed
I had never even considered going to Tony’s. But in Dec my 6-yr old noticed the window decals and asked if we were going to the “Lady & the Tramp restaurant”!! (He loves that movie.) So on Spring Break we tried it. It was terrific! That garlic bread is unreal. He loved his spaghetti & meatball. Normally I order the eggplant parmigiana in Italian restaurants, but I loved the fish special that our delightful server recommended, which included eggplant caponata and a very unique salad. We will definitely be going back!!
I think it's the best opportunity to buy direct we bought 150 points to get the "blue card"
When I went to Hilton Head Island Resort and stayed in a 2 bedroom Villa on our way to Disney.
Great show as always. Unrelated to topic...Paul, I watched "Wall-e" for the first time, as you speak so highly of it. Quite a touching film!
I loved the How to Train your Dragon movies. They are so cute. I am SOOOO excited for Epic Universe! I've stayed on Disney property for Universal trips but I think I will stay at Universal for the express pass per when Epic Universe opens :)
I’m saving to go to the new Epic Universe after it opens. I want to stay at one of the new hotels, those twin hotels are looking really nice with the tiles on them, at first I thought they looked boring but now they look pretty. Probably do 4 days there since you’re saying that one park is twice the size of both their other parks.

My husband & I went on 3 DVC Member cruises. We had a wonderful time but they are so much more expensive! Yes the gifts are great but would rather have a DVC discount. All together have been on 18 Disney cruises.
Been a member since 1997, had 600 points but sold OKW & BR last year with DVC Resale . I have kept SS & BLT.
I truly hope that BLT gets some love and get refurbished.
I asked to move tables at Tony's 2x because of a smell and the second time I realized it was the smell of the food 🤣 they have to improve a whole lot before I will consider going back, and if I do I will def. take Derek's advice and ask for an outside table! maybe go do a tasting and film it for us!
Our Family and friends who we vacation with are so super excited about Epic Universe.
We are fed up with Disney charging more and taking things away.
For at least the next couple of years all we want to do is vacation at Universal especially with Epic Universe coming!!!
I have been on 20 Disney cruises, all 5 ships, and the one-and-done Member cruise was my least favorite. BTW, the Member cruises are much more expensive than a regular cruise. The gifts are nice. but the reality is DVC isn't giving you anything. The cruise fare is higher which means you just pre-paid for that swag. 😊

I think reflections or some form of it there is going to come back too. 🤷🏼♀️ why. Maybe they’ll somehow connect it to the cabins…
Do not like the moderate idea for DVC. I believe it devalues the brand. Just like home sales whereas the cheapest house in the areas gets pulled up by the more expensive houses while the more expensive homes are negatively impacted.
When we purchased DVC in 2001 through 2004 we were told the resorts would always be highly themed and deluxe style resorts, as far as I am concerned they are breaching the contract we have with them. Just looking at the recent towers and the new poly tower, also the campground huts
Next property? How about a clone of BLT on the other garden wing at Contemporary? Not sure they will go with an option without restrictions, though.

Hi Paul, Would love your analysis of how Aulani is financially sound given that it’s still for sale after all these years. (And that goes for any DVC property that lags on year after year with a bunch of unsold inventory). Also curious as to annual dues for these properties. If it’s not sold out after a long time, who backfills the dues? Maybe I’m just overthinking this- maybe you can explain it on an upcoming episode. Thanks!
I’m no DVC expert, but I think since Disney still owns the unsold DVC rooms they just rent them out for cash to cover the dues.
Interesting, we were planning on trying the 2025 member cruise as our first cruise.... maybe not?!?

Disneyland Forward pushed me over the edge to be a DVC member. No gates are needed... they need to make DCA and most WDW parks full day parks first.
Mixed drinks on Disney property are never worth the cost. Better ROI is a simple, yet still overpriced, beer. If they put DVC rooms in moderate resorts, will they really require less points to stay there, as I am kinda seeing in a quick cabins vs SSR comparison???
Could Universal soon be selling Timeshares? One of the perks could be Annual passes for each family member.
They don't need to as they have already found their sweet spot.

Don’t worry, I won’t clog the halls of a DVC cruise.
Why should I pay an inflated price for a cruise that I already feel is a bloated cruise line?
They would have to give me a year of free DVC dues for me to sail with them.
Going “moderate”, another bad decision, those moderate priced non DVC are suppose to bring in the newbie, without that you have no funnel for deluxe DVC sales.

I don't think there will be a 5the gate for a very long time. And we aren't really Universal fans, too many motion sensitive people in our group and screens mangle us😢
Speculating if/when Disney will decide to convert their moderate resorts, what all is involved in that process from a real estate perspective?
The 2025 member Cruise announcement is definately a letdown. I'm much more excited to be going on my Lighthouse Point Cruise to San Juan in November.
I had always dreamed of DVC during our early stays at value resorts. It was the launch of DVC Fan that planted the seed. Like Jeff, I pulled the trigger on a small resale contract in 2021 after not getting to travel in 2020.
