    Since you arrived at the station so early about two hours early, you could’ve had one person watch the suitcases while the others went to a grocery to buy sandwiches or snacks since there’s a Publix grocery only two blocks away from the Miami station.

    I watched Mickey Views right after they opened but I love to watch multiple views of things because everyone puts something extra into their vlogs. I watch all the DVC Fan vlogs.

    I grew up in the NYC metro area so I'm very used to train travel, but I would say even in this case it's almost like a small but nice extension of your vacation to have the train booked for your route home from the port instead of the chore of getting into your car and driving home several hours from the port.

    We will be taking a Uber from our hotel to the airport for Brightline. Does that mean we need to tell the Uber driver to drop us off at Terminal C?
    And I see the wrap on the train does not inhibit the windows!!! Finally, Brightline listened! The complaints I heard was that the wrapping that advertises things, screwed with peoples views outside cause the wrapping was on the windows as well.
    Brightline, please do not put wrapping on the windows!!!

    Thanks Paul and Amy for vlogging this. We wanted to know if this was a viable option for a Ft. Lauderdale/Miami and Orlando trip and other than the cost, it looks good.

    Also, besides paying for the gas and the cruise port, you have to pay for the toll road

    Love watching Disney vloggers who are not used to a train travel experience. The new stop near DCL will be less than two miles from the port.

    I love this😊 i'm taken a cruise out of Miami in October on Virgin. I'm planning a 2 days Disney stop before my cruise and was wondering how the brightline worked. Thank you again 💓 Welcome Home 😊

    Very smart with the luggage. We did from Fort Lauderdale and checked our bags, it was more expensive ($50/bag) than our ticket ($39) and the process of unloading at MCO was slow and a bit unorganized. Otherwise, everything was very relaxing and nice way to do it.

      I did book it about a month in advance. It was a little flexible about the time.

    I forgot to mention too that the tracks do not open until around 10 minutes before the train departs; so you have to wait in the lounge areas until they allow people to move to the tracks... you then get RIGHT on the train, get in your seats, and it departs right on time. Super efficient!

    I love traveling by train. I wish I could take the train to FL instead of flying. It's so much more relaxed and comfortable than air travel, and the views are amazing. Just a nice travel experience. If I lived in FL, I would absolutely take this train everywhere.

    This is nice an all, but American cities for the most part are designed around automobiles, not pedestrians. There needs to be good, safe light commuter rail and buses.

    • @enjoystraveling
      @enjoystraveling 19 днів тому

      Agreed although it’s not always known that in Orlando airport there’s a variety of city buses on the ground floor that cost only about two dollars.

      LOL I accidentally packed my brush in the suitcase we had to sit outside our stateroom the night before so I didn’t have it in the morning. It’s definitely noticeable, haha.

    Did you drive to MCO and if you did how expensive was the parking?
    Thank you in advance.

    • @DVCFan
      @DVCFan  Місяць тому +1

      We didn’t park. We were dropped off at MCO by friends which is more economical (even if you Uber) if possible depending on the length you will leave your car parked vs distance you have to get to MCO. Here is some information on parking options: www.gobrightline.com/parking

    I’d pay that for round trip just for the experience. Are there any hotels, shopping, restaurants near the station? My son lives about 7 minutes from Orlando Airport. I’m asking about Miami.

    • @enjoystraveling
      @enjoystraveling 19 днів тому

      There is a the grocery about two blocks from the Miami station one don’t you Google maps and look around for the other answers.

    I booked a smart fare for my parents. So you didn’t have to pay for regular luggage?

    • @DVCFan
      @DVCFan  Місяць тому

      If you check your luggage you do have to pay. Currently, if you carry it on yourself and manage it through the bag scanner without needing help, you can bring two “carry-ons” for free. For us this was a large suitcase and backpack each. On the way home Paul had an additional bag with some stuff he bought expecting to pay extra in case he needed to and no one said anything so take that for what it’s worth. We did not pay anything for luggage.

    🤔 train stations have not held up in the US and bring many issues not least that they don't make enough money to sustain themselves. Money pits.

    • @plaxiglass

      Please enlighten us about all of the roads and highways that sustain themselves and aren't huge money pits.

    • @enjoystraveling
      @enjoystraveling 19 днів тому

      @@plaxiglass that’s true!!! , Houston Texas is a good example. Last time I went by Houston there were six lanes going each direction and it’s still has heavy traffic. I don’t know how many millions it’ll cost to make more highways and more lanes.
