Great review Lem. I just ordered these for my tricked out 96' Vmax. I've eyeballed a lot of Z Bars. The rise, sweep, angle and width dimensions are exactly what I need, in the 7/8" Keystone set. Cheers!!
I have an 2018 iron 883. I've seen alot of different videos with zbars that go back and forth with needing new brake lines. If I buy these will I need any new lines or wires?
You should be fine with stock cables, as the Keystone bars are within a half inch of the stock bar height. I believe the photo on the product page showing the mounted bars from the front are on a Sportster with stock length cables. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/biltwell-keystone-1-handlebars
Will the XL biltwell keystone bar fit my 2007 vstar 1100? Will I end up needing risers? I really want this style bar. Thanks for the great review guys!
Yes, you should be able to use the Keystone bar, and you should be able to use your stock risers. You'll need to check your cable lengths though. -DrewZilla
I have the sportster 1200C which comes witha riser with 4 in raise and 2 in rake. I take it these will fit the stock control cables but my question is will the XL work as well? given that there is only a 2,5 in additional height. Thanks
Trying to order this through revzilla. But quick question. How will my sitting position change ? Is there a video comparing stock sitting position to these ? Same goes for my hands I guess ?? Saw one comment about a guy complaining about his back. What’s the return policy after install ? Thanks Revzilla!
We don't have a video comparing to stock bars, because these bars can go on a large number of bikes that have many different stock bars. These bars only have 2 inches of rise and the ends of the bars and 2 inches of pullback, so you'll be reaching farther forward than most stock bars. Once you start installing any hard parts, you cannot return them. However, you can line them up with your risers to get an idea of position, as long as you keep them in new condition and don't install them. -DrewZilla
Without having the bike here, it's hard to know if there's enough excess cable or not. Just looking at photos though, you'd probably need longer lines/cables. -DrewZilla
You will need to find compatible risers, but if you find risers to replace the stock welded risers/handlebar, then you could use the Keystone XL Handlebar. -DrewZilla
@@RevZilla Thank you for the tip about riser. About my cables, will I be okey with original or do I have to buy extension kit for my cables ? Thank you
We aren't as familiar with the stock wiring lengths for the Vulcan S, so it is certainly possible that you'll need to extend those wires. I would lean towards saying that yes, you'd need to extend the wiring. -DrewZilla
Are you referring to the Keystone XL Bars? The regular Keystone Bars have a 5" center rise, while the Keystone XL Bars have a taller 8 1/2" center rise. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/biltwell-keystone-xl-1-handlebars *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/biltwell-keystone-1-handlebars
I believe your bike has 7/8" bars, so you'd use the 7/8" Keystone Bars. You do not need dimpled bars. Be sure to check your stock handlebar diameter first though. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/biltwell-keystone-78-handlebars
The standard Keystone Bars (not the XL) _should_ fit without having to redo wiring, but we haven't mounted them on your bike. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/biltwell-keystone-1-handlebars
I believe the stock Nightster bars have a 6" height with a 10" pullback, while the Keystone XL Bars have an 8.5" height (4.25" end-rise, so about 6.5" at the cable housing) and only a 2.25" pullback, so you should be able to use your stock cables and wiring. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/biltwell-keystone-xl-1-handlebars
You'll have to do some measuring on your bike to see if they'll work. First, check whether you have 7/8" diameter bars or 1" diameter bars. Then measure to see if 6 1/2" of center width is enough to clear the two big gauges. My gut says those gauges might be too wide to accommodate these bars, but I could be wrong. If you have 1" handlebars but the gauges are too wide, you could see if the Keystone XL Bars would clear with a 7 1/2" center width. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/biltwell-keystone-78-handlebars *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/biltwell-keystone-1-handlebars *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/biltwell-keystone-xl-1-handlebars
Given the unique layout of the gauges, we don't have anything we can verify that fits. You might want to reach out to Harley directly for verified options. -DrewZilla
Unfortunately, I don't have the dimensions of the stock bars to compare to the Keystone Bars, so it's difficult to say whether they'll work with your stock cables and stock riser height. Visually, though, it appears that you would be able to use the Keystone Bars. Measure your stock bar diameter to make sure they're 7/8". -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/biltwell-keystone-78-handlebars
Most likely yes, as the center/end rise should be within a half inch of the stock rise. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/biltwell-keystone-1-handlebars
They will not-- the Street Rod has 7/8" bars. Biltwell makes a different version that will work for you. -Kraus-e *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/biltwell-keystone-78-handlebars
Tough to say. If you have the straight bar, it will be cutting it close and you may need a little extra slack to avoid binding things up. You'd be adding about 5 - 6" of rise to your control set up which is usually beyond the limits of stock cabling. -TeamZilla Chris
For your stock hand controls, you'd want dimpled chrome. Our RevZilla part number is 889804. -DrewZilla (www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/biltwell-keystone-1-handlebars)
Given that there is only a slight difference in rise height between your bars and these, you really shouldn't need an additional cable kit. -TeamZilla Chris
Put these on my 48 today along with a 1" riser and I gotta say my back was killing me after just a short ride. It could just be that I'm not used to them yet but if you're looking to put these on your daily rider then you might want to reconsider. Looks 10, Comfort 0.
I believe you have 7/8" handlebars, so you could fit the 7/8" version of the Keystone bars. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/biltwell-keystone-78-handlebars
Bought the 7/8” for my 02 Honda shadow spirit 750 because that’s what all the recommendations say...then I come to find out the diameter of the stock bars on the 02 Honda shadow spirit 750 are 1”. If I return these bars and buy the 1” keystone bars will they fit my bike???
Yes, they should fit your Bolt, but we cannot say whether you'll need different length control cables. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/biltwell-keystone-1-handlebars
I don't have a stock Bolt here to measure agaisnt, but if you are able to measure the rise, pullback, and width of your bars, you should be able to compare it to those dimensions shown on the product page linked in my first comment. From looking at photos, it seems like it should work. -DrewZilla
Yes, these bars should work with your stock riser and speedo, though you'll need longer cables and wires. Also, keystone bars and mini-apes tend to look better with very short risers. Pairing these bars with the gooseneck riser might look a bit off. -DrewZilla
Yes, these should fit your V-Star 650, but just check your own handlebar to make sure it's a 1 inch diameter. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/biltwell-keystone-1-handlebars
No, these are not compatible with the Vulcan as is, as the Vulcan's bars are 1" at the clamp and 7/8" at the grips. These Keystone Bars are either 1" all the way through or 7/8" all the way through, so they won't work as stock. If you used the 7/8" version, you'd have to find shims to take up the extra space where the bars clamp to the risers, so that might work for you. -DrewZilla

You would need a 1" non dimpled option for your bike.

What is the difference between smooth vs dimpled?. Its for a HD 2015 883.
Dimpled bars have the space for stock wiring to run into the handlebar switchgear. Smooth bars do not. -DrewZilla
