I loved this video. I got married in 1975 to my high school sweetheart right after our college graduations. He was an Air Force officer so we promptly moved from Massachusetts to Colorado. When people asked what I did for a job I would always say I am a homemaker. In 1975 that got strange reactions from people because of Women’s Lib, etc. I never regretted being a homemaker. I did eventually work when my kids went to college. I retired in my late 50’s and I’ll be 70 on August 9th, my husband and I have been married for 48 years, and I have loved my life as a homemaker. Being the keeper of the home is a noble and important profession. We live retired in NH and live in the summer in a small cottage on a lake. We are blessed.

You are so wise to realize the importance of being a Mother & homemaking. My 2 boys are grown now but last Nov my 37 yo moved back home while he was transitioning from the USAF to a new career. He just this week moved to another state for his job & I was so grateful for time we were able to spend together these last months. He arrived safely & called me to say that he actually had tears in his eyes as he drove away from home. Me too I told him. What a blessing we were given to have him home again as an adult. You have many blessings awaiting you!!!!

As a grandmother that is helping raise two grandsons I have to remind myself that this is important and not get crabby when I am exhausted. It's hard. But when they tell me I make the best blueberry bread it makes me smile. Maybe that's all they will remember about me and I am okay with that 😁

Oh so true! I am a Grandmother to 16 and sometimes it gets overwhelming trying to help my kids by being a chauffeur as well as attending games, concerts, plays, helping with homework and all the things, but I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

Thank you for reminding people how important motherhood is. Our 3 boys are grown and Now wonderful husbands and dads I tried, when they were growing up, to do what you talk about. I was often criticized and told, on a few occasions, that I should be out working. On more than one occasion I was told I was “too smart” to waste time at home. I am so glad that I didn’t listen. I am so grateful that I was able to be at home with our boys.

I am a grandma & I can't begin to tell you how much I miss those younger days with my "boys" who are now in their 40s. Time flies by, although while you're going thru it, there are times when it can seem so slow, especially during the rough moments. Life is pretty lonely now, so I truly enjoy & love your videos. They always make me smile & remember forgotten memories & when I didn't feel so lonely. Thank you for that! ❤

Andrea you excel at motherhood and homemaking. Whether one survives the sometimes overwhelming tasks depends on attitude. Your attitude is positive and you find joy in serving your family. In a world where "influencers" are consumed with makeup, shoes, false nails, high fashion, vacations to exotic places, it is so refreshing to find that you take joy in sourdough bread, smoothies, fresh flowers, thrifting and especially loving your husband and your boys. May God continue to bless you and grant you His peace.

Thank you Andrea for such a beautiful video. I just cried as I watched. I too used to be more focused on my home than my children. It’s wonderful to see that you have realized this now as you are still a young mom with little ones. This video will be a great encouragement to other moms and even grandmothers that find themselves raising grandchildren as I am. My children are all grown now but I am pouring myself into my 2 grandchildren. I began homeschooling them this past November and I have a renewed passion and gratefulness that God has called me to homemaking full time. Your message that homemaking is a calling is so important. You are such a blessing! Thank you!

So beautifully said. I love being a wife and mom more than anything. I surround myself with beautiful vintage things that make simple tasks special. I use the good dishes, store things in pretty glass jars and tins, and use old quilts. Being a mom was the best gift ever, my son is an adult but it was the best job.

Your intro made me want to cry. I have 9 children, my eldest is 22 and the youngest is 2. The days can be long, but there is beauty to be found in the struggle. Time truly slides by so quickly and making a lovely atmosphere for our families is such a joy. And sometimes a frustration, if we're real! 😉

Thank you, Andrea. I cried in this video because this very topic has been much on my heart lately. I have 6 children between the ages of 3 and 12 and while the days are long, the years are definitely short. I'm trying to be more present and attentive with my children amidst the daily homemaking. I am very grateful that I am able to stay home with our children and make our home a haven for all within. A book that I think you would love, that has been a true inspiration to me lately, is called Mother Culture by Karen Andreola. I have been buying a copy as a baby shower gift for all the new mamas in my life. Thank you for opening your heart to us in this video. God bless you and your sweet family.

You are very wise. I am now a grandmother. I too had 4 children 3 boys and 1 girl. My kids were born in the late 80 s and early 90s. I was watching Oprah once and she said something that I will always remember. She asked “ do your eyes light up when your child walks into a room?” Kids know and sense how you feel about them. So even today when my adult children come home or even call on the phone my eyes and my voice is happy to see or hear them. What better feeling / memory can you give your child, that says you are love. You are doing a great job.

This video was so calming and beautiful!! We raised 2 sons and now we have 6 grandchildren; 4 boys and 2 girls. We get so much joy from them. There are times when I look back and know that I would have done things differently but I don't dwell on those past times. We are very close to our sons, their wives and our grandchildren. We focus on loving, caring and enjoying all of our family and don't sweat the small stuff. God has blessed us beyond measure and I thank Him every single day for our blessings. You have created an amazing home and atmosphere to raise your boys and there is no doubt they will look back and know they were well cared for and loved. Keep up the great parenting mom and dad!!!

It was tough the first years but it's getting better. Through this, I've grown deeper in my relationship with Jesus. 😍Our son is a beautiful gift from God. He's so amazing! 😭Thanks for sharing. What a beautiful video! I have done many things in my life, but home making and raising my daughter was the very best thing I have ever done. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to stay at home to care for our home and help my daughter grow into the wonderful woman she is today. I would have loved to make videos to share and commemorate the quiet moments as well as the fun parties and gatherings we had at our home at that time. When my daughter was little, older women would always say "Cherish this time--your daughter will be grown before you know it." And I did. It is true, it goes by so quickly. I thoroughly enjoyed the way you made this video. It is gorgeous and will be a wonderful way to remember this precious time.

I had 7 kids we lost one baby to cancer when she was 2. My biggest worry was she didn't know how much she was loved, then my pastor told me she did God showed her. There was days I thought I would go nuts but my mother said the days are long but the years are short. Now they are all grown and I would give anything for those days back, the years went by so fast. I now have 19 grandchildren and I tell their parents the days might be long but the years are short don't waste your time chasing things that don't matter the memories made with their kids is all that does

God has been the center of a home and always will be and our children’s. As I’ve gotten older I have learned so much & how very fortunate I was to b able to stay home & raise my children. I am now a grandma (Oma) to 3 precious grandsons 🥰 I taught my 4 children that raising a family is one of the most important jobs n the world to b able to mold a little human to b loving responsible thoughtful & independent is the most fulfilling job. I encourage people if they can arrange it to put material things aside & stay at home to b there for ur kids it’s the best important & rewarding job there is ❤️

Thank you for making this vlog! I love your channel because it’s down to earth and Christian based! I have 3 kids. 2 girls and a boy ranging from 11,9,3 and felt the same way with my first who happened to be the easiest baby I have ever known. I was upset by the fact that I couldn’t meet all of the house hold demand’s like I used to. I have learned as well, to embrace and see the beauty in motherhood! God granted me the blessings that I asked for. It just took time for me to see all of the other blessings that I thought were frustrating were really part of his beautiful gift! Not to say, I don’t get stressed out as a mom with some of the real life demands I just view them a little different now! Thanks for posting this video!

We still live at the farm they grew up on. Everytime I open the pantry door I see their heights and important milestones written on the door. Some days they leap ot at me and I stop to read them all. Perhaps that is a normal feeling from time to time? When I was raising my children ( the oldest is 38 years old ) I would get uptight when things didn’t go just perfect. Social media has so many negative effects but also so many positive effects if one chooses to watch and follow influencers that promote a healthy lifestyle. Young parents are very fortunate to have you as a role model. I love watching your little family grow . Andrea, this was such a beautiful video. I am a grandma and this video took me back to those days when my two little ones were under my wing fluffing up my feathers 😂. It made me drop a few tears reminiscing. They were so very precious. It goes too quickly. Embrace each moment. You're creating precious memories...those which come to your minds eye as time sneaks away before you realize it. God bless you and your precious family. 🙏 ❤😊

I don't have any children because I chose not to have any. I love children enough to know they need to be raised by people who really want to take that on. I applaud those Mother's out there that are raising the future generation and put in all the hard work and time to do it. Children are a gift to be treasured and always raised in a loving home. With the world trying to destroy that, we need to hang on to what is right and true and always share the love to over come the evil. To all Mother's out there who love and care for the children and the future, I thank you.

You are such a loving person. Your boys will remember all of the ways you made home cozy, loving and beautiful and those will be all the same reasons they will
Want to return when they are adults. Enjoy every one of these days. You’re right. They are such a blessing!! It goes by so fast and so much time can be lost on unimportant things if you let them side track you. You have such a beautiful family. Keep up all of the traditions and small things you do every day to show love mom.

Such a beautiful video! Thankyou for your honesty about motherhood and homemaking and you do a beautiful job! Your home is beautiful! But more importantly your heart is as well.
I was a single mom of two boys for years ( we lived in Southwest lower Michigan and I was raised there as well) and had to work full time so I tried to make a safe and cozy home
Life for the boys, but at times it was tough! I won’t deny it.
Many days I would wish I could be that stay at home mom, because my mom was always home and there for us, and I wanted that so badly for my beautiful little boys.
They are all grown up now and I’m so blessed because they are wonderful kind human beings.
My family still lives in Michigan and my folks have been married 64 years this September and still live on our farm. Cherish the time being a stay at home mom because I promise your precious boys will remember these days so much more then you realize. It is THE most important job in the world!
And I also follow farmhouse on Boone, I just love her as well. Many blessings to you and have a blessed week. And Thankyou again for sharing! 😊🙏🏻

Andrea, this was such a beautiful thing to watch. You had me tearing up a few times. Motherhood seems at times to be so overwhelming and thankless. But it is such a wonderful gift from God and the blessings that come from raising our children far out weigh the challenges that we face each and every day. I am now blessed with 3 beautiful grandchildren! I love and cherish each and moment that I get to spend with them.
It’s so funny that my own children could drive to the edge of insanity at times, but my grandkids can do the same things and it just makes me shake my head and walk away smiling and laughing at the goofy things their do😂

I see you so much and I thank you for being so honest. My boys are now adults and moved out of home but I sometimes, in my spiritual journey, reflect on my ‘perfectionism’ when my boys were young. I often wish to have my time again but I know that we are all journeying our path the way it is meant to be travelled. Our lessons become a powerful insight into our growth spiritually and it is something to be grateful for not regretful. Everything is as it should be. You are a blessing to your boys as I am to mine. Wow….you are such a beautiful soul…to honestly share your difficulty in adjusting to motherhood and it is so understandable. Even the best of us cannot withstand being pulled in numerous directions. Children do come first, but that doesn’t make your eyes close to the mess and unending to-do list that won’t care for themselves.
Your home is very artistic and gorgeous and I am sure your children are not short-changed in any way as your home feels full of love. (And the kids are so handsome.) Yes, the time of their youth passes all too quickly.
Please do take some time for yourself as children are very resilient and really only need the essentials and can feel when a parent is spent.
Peace be on you and your lovely family

You are so correct about rearing your children. I was so blessed to have three babies. They are all grown up with children of their own (blessed us with 16 grandchildren!). All Mommas feel overwhelmed at one time or another (even Grandma's when you are helping run kids to practices, Dr., Dentists, and school functions). Cherish ever single moment b/c it goes by oh so quickly. I had one daughter and two sons. When they were old enough, I encouraged them to help with light dusting, sweeping and picking up, yes even the boys. I also taught them that in ALL things, let the glory of the Lord shine through you. As they got older, they had more reponsiblities here at home. We also live on a small farm and they had chores to do. Now, their children come to the farm and help not because they are being punished or because they "need something to do". They come b/c they want to. I teach the girls cooking and tell them stories of my husband and I growing up and stories that my parents and Grandparents told us about their growing up. I share family recipes with them and the boys help Grandpa with the animals and "fixing things on the farm". They love it and we do too. I treasure these times and my oldest Granddaughter (23) told me just the other day that she treasures the time we have taken to be with them and teach them things. We are a close family and I love that. Many families are not. Being a Mother or a Dad is the hardest job in the world, but the most rewarding.
You are such a blessing to all of us that follow you. Thank you for admitting that raising a family isn't like Pinterest but it is SO MUCH BETTER! God Bless.
