There is nothing more horrifying that a corrupt person of authority. Persons of this short should not only be personally sued but jailed or imprisoned for the protection of society.

I’ve already commented on this video, but it just makes me so angry thinking about it. When I think about the arrogance of police officers not accepting the fact that things like this occur in policing, it’s so obtuse and shortsighted. This is what happens when you worship a group who are simply being paid to do a job. Firefighters are heroes, cops are cowards, get used to the reality people.

Ppl should have the legal right to defend themselves from being assaulted by cops. They have to follow the same laws as everyone else.

People do have the legal right to defend themselves during illegal police assault. The problem is, if a cop is illegally assaulting someone then they are probably willing to do worse to you in order to avoid being caught. The veteran did the right thing - invoke the 5th and then sue them later.
This officer has showed that he should never have any authority over anyone else. Fire him.

This man has absolutely no business being a police officer. He has anger management and control issues, and he lies like a rug. The video does not provide any support to the officers accusations. He is a liability to the department and as a result needs to be fired from his job. Otherwise, the department he works for better start saving up monies, because they are going to need it when the lawsuit comes from this PO's actions.
I would only add that the young officer needs education beyond the department he is serving in. Much more importantly there is a complete collapse of leadership requiring an immediate change. Leaders everywhere, but every important leaders in public safety and law enforcement need to have their ear to the ground. They need to know their officers and the skill levels and community understanding. How officers must learn the correct way (what ever that is) to address the communities they serve and protect. Constant reviews need to be done to ensure officers are physically, mentally and emotionally ready for every single shift. Job shadowing/ leadership skill training/Knowledge sharing older officers paired with younger ones. These leaders of station houses and police departments themselves need to ensure their skills stay ready. Then the people above them at the next level had better get the hell off their chairs and get in those government issued vehicles and start paying a few visits to these leaders and make sure everyone knows what there doing . This is why national police reform is needed. Policing always fails when people don't trust the police, and too many cops think their role is not to serve, but to rule over the people
There needs to be a mandatory mental health evaluation before anyone is hired to be a cop or even a security guard.

I decided against taking the job because of the violence in DC , low pay, and cost of living. Since that time pay and pensions especially on East and West Coast for police have increased immensely
This police officer’s violent behaviour towards an innocent car driver, was so grievous and extreme, that he needs to be fired and then criminally prosecuted. Compensation and legal damages is fine as it goes, but there is still the matter of having a violent thug in a police uniform, still employed by the Arkansas police authority. He poses a serious danger to any citizen he stops.

ALSO: It is not illegal to "slam on the brakes in front of (me)". The responsiblity lies on the following vehicle. Slamming on the brakes, is often necessary. Which is why tailgating is illegal.

The trooper did what he did knowing it was being recorded. That tells me he wasn’t worried about any consequences. He knew the Arkansas PD and local prosecutors would protect him.

A cop who does that in uniform, is most likely a chicken shit out of it.
At the bare minimum:
1) Training needs to be at least 12 months, 2) qualified immunity needs to be eliminated, 3) there should be a points system like for driving where you cannot be re-hired anywhere in the country as a police officer passed a certain limit and 4) legal fees should be paid for by the police officer and never by tax dollars by law.
Points system? This isnt a boxing match. Excessive force and murder are crimes and these cretins should be treated like any other criminal.
Private insurance needs to drive police policy. Abolish qualified immunity and privately insure each cop. Medical professionals maintain their own insurance. The insurance company will offer training to reduce claims. The officer should receive discounts for safely conducting their work. Violent officer actions repeatedly occurring will escalate the insurance fees or a drop of coverage resulting in lost work or uninsured officers facing personal liability without a net. I think private insurance is the correct tool for policy changes in policing. Let profit drive safety.
Making false claims & filing false reports is a felony. This cop should be charged and fired. His supervisors should be held accountable. Money talks. Sue them.
Alas, any monetary settlement is not felt by the responsible officer and it isn't even felt by the offending department. It's the taxpayers who get hit. And, because of strong unions and an insular culture, the department and their officers openly sneer at political leadership's attempts to improve policing.

As a Mental Health professional, I can state with a clear conscience, if this is not a 'made for youtube movie', 'trooper' Ringo has serious sociopathic issues and a paper- thin skin, making him singularly unfit to be on the streets as a law enforcement officer. The fact that he is mendacious, and permitted to carry a firearm, is disturbing in the extreme!
I hope that full rein is given to the investigation into this matter. The video recordings alone are damning enough to sink Ringo's 'fantasy cruise ship'!

Police reports should be filed under penalty of perjury and this officer should get charged with perjury, falsifying his report, unlawful arrest and whatever else may be applicable. It is amazing how officers try to pull this sort of BS off when they should know their dashcam is running and recording all of their lies.
The only logical conclusion is, they are confident, the system will protect them, there is no other fathomable explanation.

I remember living in a small town in Kentucky for a short while and I can assure people this isn't as unusual as you may think. Be careful when traveling in a Red State small town America. This is not unusual, cops almost always tell lies. And other cops almost always accept those lies. Cops usually cover for each other. Even knowing he had a dash cam running this cop felt safe telling lies becasue he knows, in most cases, his department will back him up. I hope he gets fired and prosecuted for perjury. This officer should have been fired years ago. How many lives has he caused harm to?? Working in law enforcement myself for over 32 years I feel terrible what this person has done in his position. Makes people like myself that got into law enforcement to help people sick to my stomach.
I really, really hope cops like you expose and arrest cops like him, and all cops who abuse their power. That’s the only way to actually be a good cop.
This POS should have his qualified immunity revoked, get sued into bankruptcy, and be federally blacklisted from all police work. And he should be tried by a special prosecutor for any criminal behavior where the statute of limitation hasn't expired. He's obviously guilty of filing false police reports, abuse of authority, and probably perjury.

I'm the person responsible for getting the full tape of this incident released to the public. The couple tried extremely hard, and even when I reached out with a FOIA request to the ASP, I was told the content was deleted because it was old. But I thankfully have a guardian angel who works in the department who sent me the full footage. I immediately handed it over to LackLuster on UA-cam who pushed the full story into the public sphere.

Thanks! LackLuster reached out to me to get access to do a vid on it because the couple asked him to cover their case. He then reached out to me because you can only get that if you're an Arkansas resident. I had helped him prior gathering footage on a case where an AR State trooper flipped a pregnant woman's car. That footage is available on my second channel ArkansasWatchdogs. On this case, I have both the troopers forward cam and the internal cam facing the backseat of his patrol car that I can upload, but haven't yet so more people saw LackLusters full review of the incident.

And needs a psych evaluation. He tells lie after lie, despite knowing there’s video footage of what happened, which makes me think he’s completely delusional and doesn’t recognize reality. That is incredibly dangerous, and might have something to do with why he killed a motorcyclist, claiming the guy was trying to take his gun (no body cam footage of the incident).
This case has to go forward this cop needs to be off the force. He's a disgrace to the uniform and a danger to society
