@@acresofclayhomestead I love 10th generation dairy Farmer also. He is located in New Holland Pa, about 70 miles from us. We are in the area several times during the year and would love to stop in and meet Eric.
You all are the best. God bless the farmer and rancher! Watched the video of you fixing the chopper an now moving heifers. You can't even imagine how much I miss doing that. People make fun of farmers saying it's a rough life. Well I say it's the only life. An your a blessing to me. I know I've told you before. So miss the hard work. An yes I'm crazy. Lol got to smile an enjoy the life God has given us. God bless
Ronda, that fence wire does not look like wire. It looks like some kind of string. Is that electrified? Also, if those gloves you like are the fleece ones I like them too. I got some yellow ones with red cuffs. They feel so good and are warm. I've always just called them "chore gloves", and that's what I heard them called by everyone all my life.
Halloween eve here watching the news weather radar and looks like you area gettin slammed with snow. I,m on break Hagerstown MD and 75 humid with storm front coming in rain high winds and cold front coming in.
There will be happy heifers. I would move my fence every day i would loosen the reel up and move the post over and then move the back fence in the same amount. I hope you don't have a joker in the family that when asked is the fence off and they say yes Thanks for the video
When we brought a large number of cows of 30-70 pieces to the pasture, we fenced the territory with a thin metal wire, winding it on insulated pegs. A high-voltage current similar to that of a taser is passed through it, only a weaker discharge. Cows tear fencing out of a rope and when a pasture is fenced with electric wire, cows never break out. If you touch such a wire with your fingers, then an unpleasant click will follow, cows feel the same way.
How often do you move poly wire? Love our geared reels, but we move all summer. I buy empty bobbins from Kencove for winter poly fencing and rig it up to roll up with cordless drill or driver.
Are the chickens hard to put in at night? My neighbors chickens eat on my place everyday, so when I go feed calves I let my dog herd them back to their place.
@@acresofclayhomestead yeah that's hotter than I thought it would get in Michigan. Snow already...😲. Be interesting to see how much we get this year. Got a foot right before Christmas the last 2 years.

I love white face heifer. She is beautiful.

This is just a temporary pasture since we can't get the equipment in the field to harvest it. Too wet!!
11 days n that other piece was done-ish. Cool
We have a lot of similarities in eastern Europe, like you have in America. Even the technologies in agriculture and livestock are almost the same ;)
Are the chickens hard to put in at night? My neighbors chickens eat on my place everyday, so when I go feed calves I let my dog herd them back to their place.
My chickens just go right in the coop once it starts getting late, but before it gets dark. Never had any problems.
Enjoyed todays upload. How hot does it get in the summer and when is the earliest that you will see snow?
Some summers can get 105 degrees or so. Yesterday we saw our first snow.

What do you Think of Baled Silage (Wrapped in Large Bales)?
Costs too much plastic. Ruins the envoirment
For us it isn't cost effective, but we know a lot of people that like using baled silage.
Man oh man, feed 200 dairy cows and young stock on wrapped bales? The plastic pile be as big as the Eiffel Tower at the end of the year
Called "Monkey Gloves"...darned if I know...wasn't my idea.

No snow for you yet? Not fair, your not that far away.
We saw our first snow yesterday and now it's snowing/ raining here.
Hi Rhonda, I see that you have Holstein cows and Jersey cows have you ever tried Montbeliarde or Fleckvieh cows. Finbarr
No, never had those breeds.
Holy Smokies
How do you like your Massey Ferguson tractor ?
We really like this tractor. It's a very handy size.
Do y'all have beef cattle also along with the dairy cows?
No, just dairy.
👍👍👍
Im so lazy. I would of sat in the bucket and had ethan drive me around to pull those stacks instead of walking and throwing them in the bucket.
Never crossed my mind!! But... I need the exercise.
