I was also very skeptical as well...I actually didn't think it could be done! But the vanda proved me wrong! I am so glad that I didn't throw away the cutting. As a rule of thumb I don't throw any of my divisions or cuttings away...I give it a couple of months to see what they will do and I've gotta tell you...orchids never cease to amaze me in their want to grow and survive! They are quite amazing creatures! Thank you for watching and giving me a chance to prove that there really is a method to my madness and it does pay to think outside of the box my friend! BEST WISHES AND HAPPY GROWING!
It was yet another example of how they are intent on securing their survival! ...they are just such fighters, these amazing creatures we call orchids! Thanks for watching and enjoy your beautiful orchids and blooms! :)
It is my absolute pleasure. I am so blessed to have this platform where I can share my growing experiences. Thank you so much for joining me on my plant growing adventures and I am wishing you the absolute best! HAPPY GROWING!
Thank you so much for sharing your positive feedback. I really appreciate it and I am so glad that you could join me on my orchid adventures! Welcome to the MOA family my dear! Wishing you the best in your orchid adventures and HAPPY GROWING! :)
I have medium size aloe vera and normally will use 3-5 leaves for either a half a gallon or a full gallon of water. I will use the whole aloe leaf and some water in a blender and then I will use a filter cloth over a pitcher and filter the pulp out and add more water. You can use it at that dose to water your plants or you can use it in a weaker dose. I water my entire garden & orchids with it by putting it into my fertilizer sprayer that attaches to the hose and set it at 1 tsp per 1 gallon. I water my orchids on a regular with this solution so I prefer a weaker dose. I have noticed a a definite difference in plants and orchids using natural homemade fertilizers and supplements and I have really been enjoying the benefits.
Sweet deal. This is just one reason i like this channel. Not only do you do things that most are afraid of doing but post results whether negative or positive. The creative aspect you share in addition to to these tips just make my day. BTW......did you recieve what it was i sent? USPS SAYS delivered.
That is awfully kind of you to say and I do appreciate it! I have gotten kicked down in the past from viewers and also other you tubers because I have done things that most won't do or have never heard of doing but that is a part of who I am and how I have always lived. I believe that if you don't try then you will never know. Out of all of my experiences, regardless to the results, I have always learned something new. I have never made any real mistakes...because a mistake is really just a blue print and a plan on how to get it right, what I believe a stepping stone to success. It is only a true mistake if you don't learn or take away anything from it. So thank you so much dear friend for making my day...it is a hard difficult job to go against the grain...but someone's gotta do it...I figured I am the woman for the job! LOL! Thanks for getting me and yes...I did get your wonderful package and made a video all about it! Thanks so much you are AWESOMO!
This video reminded me of that Phal you cut in half a couple of years ago. It was so extreme but it worked. Can you show us in a future video how these Phals are doing now? I'd love to see how much they've grown since then.
Yes, those phals were amazing little survivors! Unfortunately they did not survive one of our winters so they are no longer with me. But I will never forget that phenomenal extreme propagation discovery. Thanks for watching and I wishing you the absolute best in your orchid adventures.
Isn't it amazing! Instead of throwing cuttings away I always give it a couple of months first to see if I can get anything out of it. Orchids never cease to amaze me in what they can do! They are awesome! Thanks for watching and HAPPY GROWING!
So long as the roots are in good shape, not too surprising it would throw out new growth. The real question is, how many years until those things bloom 🤔 . My guess, three. (also, wood glue is fantastic for sealing cuts on orchids. Better than cinnamon, IMO. I had to chop off the top of an oncidium pb that had rot, sealed it with wood glue, no more rot and bottom part of the bulb still looks good)
Well it was surprising to me because it is not often talked about as a method for propagation nor shown and I've had a couple cuttings in the past that did not take so I believed it was far more difficult or simply could not be done. So now that I see that it can be done I've come to the conclusion that it is just a little bit more difficult to take. Also I have been watering my orchids with aloe vera water and organic homemade supplements and fertilizers and have noticed more growth, more roots and more keikis and offshoots and also have had many orchids and plants that have never bloomed before that are now blooming so I can't help but to think that it may also helped it in its process. And yes there are other alternatives to to sealing wounds such as wax, superglue, wood glue (which is sometimes are also used for mounting orchids) so I guess it is all it in what you prefer to use on your plants/orchids. As far as how long...3 years...I'm thinking more like 5...LOL! But that all depends on the type of orchid it is and its genetic traits. We'll just have to wait and see...but regardless it will be a long wait. :(
Thanks so much I am so happy that you were able to learn something new from this unexpected extreme propagation. These awesome creatures we call orchids never cease to amaze and indeed are constantly teaching me how phenomenal they really are. I have medium size aloe vera and normally will use 3-5 leaves for either a half a gallon or a full gallon of water. I will use the whole aloe leaf and some water in a blender and then I will use a filter cloth over a pitcher and filter the pulp out and add more water. HAPPY GROWING DEAR FRIEND! :)
HA HA HA HA!!! WHY IS IT THAT I CAN LITERALLY SEE YOU DOING THAT AND ARGUING WITH YOURSELF!!! LMBO! ...AND WE ALL KNOW THAT THE MAD SCIENTIST ALWAYS WINS, DON'T WE?!!!!!
In my experience, animals and plants WANT to survive. I discovered this once when I had a dendrobium that appeared dead and dried out. I couldn't bring myself to throw it away so I placed it out of the way in a small container. About a month or so later, I glanced down and saw some green. It had started to grow a new bulb. So, unless you can crumble it into dust, I give those babies a try.
There is a number of reasons why it could've worked and that definitely could've been a reason...all I can say is that orchids have an incredible way of surviving and they will do whatever they need to in attempt to thrive. Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion! I am wishing you the best in your orchid adventures! HAPPY GROWING! :)
Wow I was a bit skeptical when the original video came out, but you proved me wrong Maria! Congrats!

Part of me keeps going 'NO!!! Don't cut it!' Then the mad scientist in me talks back, 'Yes...cut them. Cut the ALL!!!' (Maniacal laugh)
HA HA HA HA!!! WHY IS IT THAT I CAN LITERALLY SEE YOU DOING THAT AND ARGUING WITH YOURSELF!!! LMBO! ...AND WE ALL KNOW THAT THE MAD SCIENTIST ALWAYS WINS, DON'T WE?!!!!!
@@PictureMaria1 Its a hard desire to fight!

I think it worked by it using the little ability in the roots to photosynthesize which allowed to gain just enough energy to create a keiki

How can I care a Vanda that no any root?
Thank you
