- Here is a new version of the 500v Texas Star with the DEI 2sc2879's in it. This amplifier had to be combed through pretty well with both boards being removed in for new transistors being installed and my buddy 073 put a nice PWR Wire Upgrade on it. Did a great job.

How can i send my box in to see if its working properly? I have a Palomar TX450 1x4. 1 is BLW60CF x4 MSF454. dont know what the watts is. Please get back to me thanks.

Wattage seems a little low with a power wire upgrade and a 40 watt pep input. I did a power wire upgrade on mine and with a Cobra 25 peaked and swing modded I'm getting close to 600 watts. Before the power wire upgrade it was around 500.
Maybe I have just been lucky, but I have had no issues with DEI's on the two amps I own. I think these people are just being careless with their equipment. High SWR's will fry most amps. So will overdrive them. Hook them up, drive them with less than 50 watts pep with a good antenna, good coax and you'll be fine.

I dont think DEI can even take stock power settings.
Like I keep saying... using sub-standard transistors from mystery manufacturers is never a good plan.
Yes... those "power pills" are worse than the DEIs. After all, what legitimate semiconductor company would call transistors "pills"... LOL
